Because there are so many different components involved in the making of a fireplace, it can be difficult to envisage it in its entirety. As you browse our brochure, you ll see that we try to showcase as many different designs as we possibly can, but it s not feasible to show you every combination possible. 6 OUR STONE AND MARBLE CORINTHIAN STONE AEGEAN LIMESTONE PORTUGUESE LIMESTONE Quarried in the Western Mediterranean, this honed limestone has a rich sandy colour that provides a delicate warm feel. Its background composition is magnified with unique small fossils and random sedimentary veining. A stone for those seeking a homely, cosy fireplace. Sourced from the Eastern Mediterranean, our Aegean Limestone mantels are beautifully unique in character. Each mantel has its own individual fossil formation, veining and colour so no two are the same and is handcrafted into a variety of contemporary and traditional designs. Formed over 50 million years ago and quarried in Portugal. The characteristic darker veins, intermingled with fossils of plants and animal life all add up to the beauty of this natural stone. Blooms and whisps of fossilised leaves are not considered defects but part of the experience. CARRARA MARBLE Quarried in the Italian city of Carrara, this stunning material has been used in the building of many of Rome s most remarkable buildings including the Pantheon. Every one of our Carrara Marble mantels has its own distinctive appearance with beautiful, fine grey and grey blue veining. LIBERTY WHITE Liberty White Marble is famously known for forming the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty. It s a classical stone that when hand carved, produces a selection of stunning modern and timehonoured designs. Our Liberty White mantels are snow white and consistent in colour, yet soft grey speckled veins can be present. TIMBER Our Timber mantels are available in two elegant styles, they re available in any size and any colour, enabling you to have complete control over the look and feel of your fireplace. Both of our classic Timber mantels are handcrafted in Britain and take on a whole new personality when tailored to your exact requirements. 6

Established long term relationships with quarries and foundries with highly efficient fabricators and stone masons, provide the backbone for the stringent quality and manufacturing standards we achieve with our collection. We strive to offer our customers a great deal of flexibility in terms of the size of their chosen fireplace design. That s why we have implemented a Made to Measure service for a variety of our mantels in the following materials; Corinthian Stone, Aegean Limestone, Portuguese Limestone and Timber. No matter how small or large your chimney breast, whether you d like to change the overall size of your fireplace, make the shelf wider or reduce the rebate size, we can deliver a completely tailored service. 105 PROVIDENT Our Provident Back Panel can help you create a fireplace that s beautifully modest with a higher efficiency, making it a fine centrepiece for any modern or traditional mantel. The Provident Back Panel is available in a Black or Highlight finish and were specially designed to support our arched Provident Fireframes. By integrating the Back Panel and Fireframe, we are able to house more highly efficient gas and electric fires. Closing off the unit and adding a canopy to the Fireframe means we are able to increase the efficiency of the fires and ensure that the heat output is going into the room and not up the chimney. 135 Recent changes in legislation have been made in an attempt to reduce the emissions of all solid fuel burning appliances. As such solid fuel baskets/kits, combination fireplaces and cast iron inserts should not be used as local space heaters in order to reach and maintain a certain level of human thermal comfort. Whilst the actual heat output of these products has not changed from previous years they should now be viewed as for decorative use only. Choosing the right fuel for your cast iron appliance is vital to ensure an enjoyable, trouble-free use. To burn solid fuel in a smoke controlled area, the law determines the appliance must be DEFRA approved or the fuel must be smokeless. We would only recommend burning very dry wood or smokeless coal, any other fuel or objects such as household waste will produce harmful gasses subsequently reducing the performance of your appliance.
