3 ANCONA The simple and timeless lines of the Ancona guarantee that it will blend happily with virtually any interior style. It is pictured here with an Enigma II Slimline coal-effect gas fire, with a polished Baltimore fret and brushed steel fire frame Veined limestone 1

4 BALMORAL The Balmoral is a regally styled fireplace which would grace any drawing room. It features a raised hearth with full Bullnose profile. In the picture shown here it has been fitted with an Enigma II decorative coal-effect gas fire, incorporating a brass finish fire frame and Blenheim fret Veined limestone

5 BECKFORD The angular, geometric styling of the Beckford make it ideally suited for both modern and traditional environs. It is pictured with an FDC 4 multi fuel stove in a Lavender cobbled brick chamber and optional stone back hearth. 7 BOURNE The Bourne attractively juxtaposes a nononsense angular fireplace with a gently curved hearth and mantel. Here its lines are perfectly complimented by an Enigma II pebble-effect gas fire with black Clevedon fret and matching frame Veined limestone 5

8 CALGARY The Calgary is an impressive and detailed fireplace with multiple edge profiles and mouldings. Available as a mantelpiece only or complete with hearth and back panel. 13 DORCHESTER The Dorchester is a handsome and exceptionally versatile fireplace. In the main picture it is shown with an FDC 5 multifuel stove in a reeded chamber. 15 FLORENCE The traditional Victorian styling of the Florence will make a distinctive focal point in any living room. It is a versatile fireplace which will happily incorporate both inset and freestanding appliances. 16 HIGHCLERE The Highclere is a contemporary styled fireplace with clean lines and a raised plinth. It incorporates concealed downlights, operated via a simple switch, which further enhance its appearance. The main picture shows it with the lights on and the inset image with the lights off. 17 LANGFORD 60 The Langford is the largest model in our range and we think all will agree that it is a truly impressive fireplace. With a chamber opening of 30 it can easily accommodate the generous proportions of the FDC 8 freestanding stove. A smaller 54 version is also available Veined limestone 15

22 STONEHENGE The aptly named Stonehenge is a surprisingly modern looking fireplace in spite of its design origins. An additional, and unusual feature, is its double slip set, which lends it extra depth and character. In this instance it has been matched with an FDC 8 multifuel stove Veined limestone

23 TRIPOLI The Tripoli is outstandingly versatile as it offers a choice of three shaped lintels. A gas fire is a technical piece of equipment and, just like a gas boiler, requires servicing. It is essential that you have your gas fire serviced annually by a GAS SAFE REGISTER installer. All FDC (UK) Ltd gas fires carry a 12 month warranty from the date of installation. Please ensure you complete and return the warranty registration page in the back of the instruction manual. Failure to register your fire will invalidate the warranty. Please note that the ceramic fuel bed, firebox liners and glass are not covered by the warranty however spares are available from your retailer.

31 NATURAL LIMESTONE All the natural stone fireplaces in this brochure are hand finished and, as such, all measurements are approximate and may vary slightly. The fireplaces are manufactured from natural materials and colour and veining variation can occur from photographs, printed material and any showroom displays that relate to these products. Any variation is outside our control and cannot be regarded as faulty or substandard. Small fossils and calcified veins (very fine black lines which can be misinterpreted as cracks) are an inherrent feature of natural limestone and whilst every care is taken to select the clearest material some are likely to be present. Due to the nature of the materials used in the construction of these fireplaces it may be necessary to reinforce or use a suitable filler to eliminate brecciation in the material. All the fireplaces are suitable for use with gas and electric fires as standard. Should you wish to use a solid fuel appliance it is recommended that the hearth should be sectioned and supplied with a hearth plate if required. Due to the high moisture content of limestone, fireplaces will dry over time and become lighter in appearance. Care must be taken before and during installation, as all fireplaces are untreated and are susceptible to discolouration. It is recommended that the completed installation is allowed to dry thoroughly and then sealed with a proprietary sealer. We recommend the LTP range of stonecare products available from your retailer. Cleaning and maintenance: Your fireplace can be cleaned with a sponge and warm soapy water. Stubborn stains can be removed with liquid domestic bleach (please test the bleach on an unseen part of the fireplace to check it does not mark the stone). Any small chips or scratches can be remedied using a fine grade wet and dry sand paper. INSTALLATION IMPORTANT INFORMATION Having a new fireplace installed is a major project and it is advisable to prepare yourself as well as possible. Please ensure your chosen fireplace will physically fit your chimney breast and that it is compatible with the intended heating appliance. The best way to confirm this will be to organise a home survey with the retailer or your installer prior to purchase. All installations must be carried out in accordance with the requirements set out in the Building Regulation documents, paying particular attention to Approved Document J. There are independent bodies which have been approved to carry out installations in accordance with these regulations. For gas installations, the most recognised independent body is GAS SAFE REGISTER and for solid fuel installations it is HETAS. It is essential to confirm with your retailer that your new fireplace will be installed appropriately. If you have your new fireplace installed by a GAS SAFE REGISTER (gas) or HETAS (solid fuel) registered fitter you will be given a a certificate stating that your installation has been carried out in accordance with Building Regulations. If you do not have one of these certificates you will have to arrange for your local Building Control Officer to inspect and approve your installation. PRODUCT SPECIFICATION FDC (UK) Ltd has a continuous research and development programme which may necessitate changes to sizes and specifications without prior notification. If any size is critical this should be made clear to your retailer at point of order. THE FDC PLEDGE You can purchase any of the products shown in this brochure with total confidence. In the unlikely event that there is a defect discovered on unpacking, a replacement part will be supplied without hesitation. Of course, this requires the products to be fully inspected prior to installation as no responsibility for refitting or redecoration can be accepted if defective products have been installed or products have been damaged during installation. In these cases and in the case of accidental damage after installation, in-situ repairs might be possible. Please refer to your retailer for further information. 29
