2 Thermaltronics Distributor Newsletter - December 2012 Dear Channel Partners, Contrary to the trend in the worldwide business climate, Thermaltronics has been growing in 2012 despite a signifi cant decline in the electronics industry. Clearly we could not have achieved this growth without your support and for this we thank you. However, without doubt, other contributing factors have are our ability to outperform in most circumstances our closest competitor Metcal/OKI, on both price and delivery performance. These advantages, combined with consistent quality have enabled Thermaltronics to gain market share. Rapid growth has been achieved throughout Asia, and we have been pleased to see key account success in Europe and Scandinavia, with such well-known companies as Airbus & Ericsson. In the North American market, Thermaltronics is sold under the Easy Braid brand and here we are also gaining momentum especially in cartridge/tip volume. In order to continue to this drive for market share Thermaltronics is pleased to announce the launch of the TMT-2000S series, a unique 470 KHz, 75 watt AC, low cost soldering system with several handpiece variants, for cartridge/tip fl exibility. We have booked orders through Asia and Europe and will be continuing the introduction process throughout other markets. Demonstration cases have already been shipped to many distributors on a free of charge basis. Furthermore Thermaltronics is proud to recap the following product additions of 2012: 1) Release of unique POWER PLUS TIPS for use on the TMT-9000S which provide 15-20% more capacity for diffi cult soldering applications and additional plating for longer life. 2) Release of desolder gun and kit addon for TMT-9000S and MDT Series desolder tips. 3) Release of the TMT-2000S and K, P and S Series tips that offer backward compatibility. 4) Release of several new tip geometries to meet customer demands. 5) Release of tip tinner (TMT-TC-2) with long shelf life and improved cleaning performance. 10 TIP TINNER TMT-TC-2 TMT-TC-2 TIP TINNER DESCRIPTION TMT-TC-2 Tip Tinners is a compressed tablet of pure tin and ammonia phosphate formulation. It has a self adhesive pad on the underside to allow it to be affi xed on, or near the work station. TMT-TC-2 Tip Tinners provides fast, effi cient cleaning of blackened and highly oxidised soldering iron tips, safely and effi ciently. Lead free (RoHS Compliant) Removes tip oxidation No-Clean compatible formulation Minimal residues Rapidly re-tins badly oxidised soldering iron tips. APPLICATION Thermaltronics TMT-TC-2 Tip Tinners should be used when the soldering iron tip is unable to be retinned by using cored solder or normal electronic grade fl uxes. For best results roll or wipe the soldering tip at normal soldering temperature over the surface of the TMT-TC-2 for a few seconds to produce local melting. There is no need to use heavy pressure or a scrubbing action. Prolonged contact may form excessive fume. The residue on the tip is non-corrosive and may be removed by wiping the tip onto brass curls or a damp (not wet) sponge. AVAILABILITY Thermaltronics TMT-TC-2 Tip Tinners are available in containers containing 20g. SAFETY AND HANDLING Avoid inhaling the fl ux fumes when in use. Wash your hands thoroughly after handling TMT-TC-2 especially before eating or smoking. Keep out of reach of children.
