Taff visited the Hospice four years ago and following this the A027G Model A was launched. Oxford members were very supportive and additional donations were made to help with the running costs, which are over 2 million every year. Ty Hafan's mission is to improve the quality of life of children with life threatening disorders and their families by providing a high standard of respite and palliative care. We featured them early to give everyone a chance to reserve a model, anyway they have gone out of ANG003P stock. A few are also confused with the edition size of 3,000, so to clear this up the position is as follows: 2300 of each were issued as singles and the balance of 700 have been issued in the SET 23 details for that set are shown in this Globe. Only orders received for single models through the club had a special certificate included. Next month we are issuing the Tonibell Ice Cream issues and these like the above will come in special presentation cases and a special wrap as per the ANG002/3P variants. If you wish to pre-order you may do so on the order form - please don t be disappointed. Product will be despatched about the 20th October under separate cover as previous. Tonibell vehicles were issued in blue up until 1969 when the colour scheme was changed to pink - commonly known in the trade as kinky pink. These models will only release in the special cases and not as part of a triple set. You can buy them as singles or as a three piece set. MILLWALL FOOTBALL CLUB 2 RM090 Millwall Edition 1,200 We released the Bullnose Millwall 064G in 1995 and RM036 in 2001 and here we are 5 years on with RM090, based on a bus that runs around Millwall. Millwall Rovers were formed in the summer of 1885 by workers at Morton's Jam Factory on the Isle of Dogs. The majority of the workers at the factory were of Scottish extraction and consequently blue and white became the club's colours. Millwall inhabited four separate grounds on the island and changed their name via Millwall Athletic to plain Millwall, before relocating across the river at The Den in 1910.

Does anyone know? ADNAMS SOUTHWOLD OLD ALE DR023 Adnams A word from Michael Tonibell brings back fond memories and I m so pleased to receive so many compliments regarding our Ice Cream releases. It is difficult to judge demand and I know that the Walls vehicles are going to be hard to find in the years to come - so if you ve got one hold onto it! I had Marmite this morning - you either love it or hate it. The one thing you won t hate is our release programme for next year - if Taff is going to hit all the dates planned he d better put some Marmite on a few bits of Weetabix - as he will need the energy. Im sunning myself in Torquay at the moment and as I look over the verandah I can see some lovely Ice Cream vans on the seafront. I m sure Taff is having a great time in the office! Take care Adnams Brewery was founded in 1872 when George and Ernest Adnams bought the Sole Bay Brewery in Southwold. The company has remained independent since then, producing a range of beers for distribution mainly in East Anglia. The company produces cask ale and pasteurised bottled beers. Annual production is around 70,000 barrels. To this day, casks of Adnams ale are delivered to the pubs of Southwold by horse and dray. CS045 Marmite In 1902, the same year as the coronation of Edward VII, the Marmite Food Extract Company Limited started its life as a public company and national institution. Having negotiated the acquisition of the patents for health-giving yeast extract, the directors set up a small factory in Burton-on-Trent, where the all important yeast was readily available. It took a couple of years to perfect the recipe. Even so, the MARMITE brand was awarded two gold medals in 1903, one at the Universal Food and Cookery Exhibition and the other at the Grocery Exhibition. The popularity of MARMITE yeast grew steadily and in 1907 a new factory opened at Camberwell Green, London. By the outbreak of the First World War, MARMITE was an established brand, recognized for its nutritious properties. It was thus ideal for the troops serving overseas in combating the outbreak of beri-beri and other deficiency diseases. MARMITE had been sold in small earthenware pots from the outset, but towards the end of the 1920's plans were drawn up to switch to glass jars with metal lids. Why the now familiar shape of jar was chosen is not known, but it certainly added a distinctive appearance to accompany the distinctive taste of Marmite. Although the shape of the label had to be adapted to the new jars, the overall format of design continues with few modifications. In fact even the original simmering stew pot remains on the label to this day. There was a major advertising campaign during the 1930's to promote MARMITE further. Central to this promotion was the use of characters whose faces incorporated the word "good" or goodness. This theme was used on giant hoarding posters and display cards for shop windows, on brochures, recipe books and even paper bags. 3

VW027 Kenneth Williams KENNETH WILLIAMS, died aged 62 in He was an extraordinarily original entertainer, whose range of hilariously exaggerated voices and expressive face, with its famous flared nostrils, gave immense pleasure to millions. He was best known for his double-takes in the Carry On films and his contributions to radio series such as Round the Horne and Just a Minute, not to mention innumerable TV chat shows - he was also a talented stage actor, He appeared in 22 Carry On films and on radio he was an unstoppable winner of Just A Minute a. A great addition to the range. Born in Canada on April 28, 1927, his father was Garfield Howard Weston, and he moved to England at the age of four. Garfield Weston had introduced white sliced bread to the British housewife. After graduation Garry became managing director of Ryvita, and at the age of 22 he invented the well-known Wagon Wheels biscuit. On leaving Ryvita in 1952, he became his own boss, when with a fitter from Ryvita he founded the Weston Biscuit Company in Australia. In 1967, his father requested he return to England to run the family business then known as Associated British Foods.The company also owned the Queen s grocers, Fortnum & Mason, and two of his daughters worked there. In 1991 he acquired British Sugar for 800 million pounds. Taff went in search of Wagon Wheels recently and advises that they are 30% smaller than the ones he remembers. Does anyone agree? 4 We are often asked to release models in their plain form without any liveries. So during one of our recent production runs we produced some extra vehicles in red without a livery. We get pictures from some of our members who often modify our vehicles to suit their collection. This causes some confusion years later as they are difficult to identify back to the original print. The 022 Bullnose was a particular problem as the blue ink printed on the model was easily removed, the red ink wasn t. I have seen a few variants of this model with an original red print and a totally different logo in the position of the blue print. We are not sure how this will work out, but at the request of members we are releasing PP008.

8 NEW tooling information As the demand for Oxford items has grown over recent years, we are having to plan forward in ever increasing detail to ensure that we hit target release dates. At the time of writing - early August, we already have our release programme mapped out until April In early 2005 we decided that we needed to expand our range beyond our traditional model line up. This led to the introduction of the Mini car later that year. We also decided that we needed to take more account of scale and we chose to follow the market standard at 1:43rd. We also recognised that there was a requirement to add more variety to our releases, hence the next release of the Morris Minor had quite a few variations on the initial tooling with various signboards (some not yet released) grilles, sun visors etc. Subsequently we issued the Spitfire and more recently the Anglias which come in several varieties. Our plans over the next 12 months are to accelerate the release of new tooling and add to the variety of tooling that we already have, how exactly this will work out is difficult to predict as it will depend also on how well the items are received. In November the 1:43rd scale Mini Pick up arrives along with the Traveller and Ice Cream variant - the first being the Lyons Maid livery - pictures below show the variations planned. December November Mini Variants In late January/February 2007 we hope subject to timings to release a brand new 1:43rd scale vehicle which will come in a variety of shapes and variations. We will also add several new casting shapes in the first half of the year which will fit on a number of our current chassis. In addition we plan to add several 1:76 scale items during the course of 2007, the first release will be in February/March 2007 again subject to timings and tooling availability. We have issued more tooling in the last 12 months than the previous five years combined. The tooling in next twelve months is likely to be 50% higher again, this doesn t include several items we have for release for other companies. Our policy is very clearly to provide affordable collectables and our aim is to continue this and we would like to thank all members for their support. What does it mean? Well it is likely that each month we will see more body shells appearing, not necessarily a greater amount of liveried releases. It may mean that as we try and cover all of the topic areas that the days when we saw four Corner Shop releases in one month will not be possible, also we don t anticipate releasing 500 liveries of one bodyshell (eg Bullnose). Personally I think we are in for a very exciting time as the broader range and greater adoption of new castings means we can provide ever more interesting models. It will also mean more products being released at varying price points, this will make multipurchasing quite difficult, as we could have items from appearing in the Globe. With this in mind I am looking at several options to accommodate this new situation and I will update you over the next few Globes on how we intend dealing with this. Until then Take Care. 8
