4 Safety instructions Safety instructions General information These assembly instructions provide detailed information on installation, assembly, handling and maintenance relevant to control system 9. The safety information in these instructions relates directly to control system 9 and does not regard the base machine. In addition to these assembly instructions, you should carefully read the safety information regarding the relevant base machine and any other equipment you will be using. Do not attempt to install, use or perform maintenance on the tiltrotator/rotator and its enclosed equipment before carefully reading all the information regarding the tiltrotator/rotator, its related equipment and the base machine. Observe all safety instructions carefully. NB: There are further safety instructions in the instruction manual for the rotator. Identification and marking of the tiltrotator/rotator Check that the information in Certification of conformity corresponds to the information on the machine (see point 2, Checking the type plate ), the equipment and the documentation. In the event of non-conformities, contact your supplier before first assembly. Carefully read all warning texts before assembling or using the tiltrotator/ rotator and its accompanying equipment. The warning texts explain potential risks and how to avoid them. If in any doubt, contact your employer or supplier. Remember that sound judgment and thorough knowledge of your machinery reduces many unnecessary risks. Consequently, operators should take the time to learn safe use of the tiltrotator/rotator and its related equipment before starting operation. Caution Faulty installation can be dangerous. If in any doubt, contact your dealer or engcon Nordic AB. Ensure that the hydraulic system is decompressed before starting work on the system. Risk of personal injury. NB: Observe the maximum input pressure and maximum input flow. This applies to all control systems. See technical data. Page 4

5 Safety instructions Switch off the power when working with the electrical system and remove rings, watches etc. before starting work. Risk of personal injury. Never use your hands to check for leaks in the hydraulic system. Hydraulic oil under pressure can penetrate the skin causing serious injury. Implements connected to the tiltrotator/ rotator may not be used unless correctly locked into place. ALWAYS make sure that the lock bolts protrude according to the specifications for the relevant quick hitch. Take care if using a ladder to install parts. Risk of personal injury. Never attempt to increase the equipment s maximum capacity by making modifications without the supplier s approval. Short circuits in electrical cables can cause injury and burning. Insulate electrical conductors and parts carefully when installing electrical equipment. Risk of burn injuries from hot hydraulic oil. The machine must never be operated with the implement lock switch turned on, except when attaching or detaching a bucket or implement. 18 Control system installation (line installation) Function testing 14. Connection of line in control box For information on connection, see relevant wiring diagram. Function testing 15. Function testing Set the mains switch to ON. LED (1) indicates that the tiltrotator s bucket lock function is activated. Press button (2) on the panel of the electrical box. Check that all LEDs (3) that are not connected to a tiltrotator function are shining red. Activate the tiltrotator functions one at a time. Check that the relevant LED (4) shines green after the function has been activated. Page 18

Function description Assembly instructions Control System SS9 Function testing The outlets for Extra 1 and Extra 2 can be used in different ways depending on how the customer wants to use the function. See wiring diagram for connection instructions. A. Extra 1 and Extra 2 can be activated simultaneously to increase the flow to the extra function. This setting is also used on EC02-EC05, as these models only have one extra function. If EC02-EC05 have an extra grab, the Extra 1 outlet is used for the grab function. The hold function is activated. B. Same as A but without a hold function. The extra function is only activated while the button is pressed and held. C. Two separate functions can be controlled by Extra 1 and Extra 2. This setting is only used for EC10 and higher. It is often used when an integrated grab is installed. In this case, Extra 2 can control an additional function. D. Same as C but without a hold function. Page 19

20 Function testing 16b. Jumpers for positive or negative input signal The jumpers are normally located on the two lower pins (A). In this case, the input signal is negative. Move the jumpers to the upper position for a positive input signal (B). Page 20
