3 de 1 Geral information / Use The was digned pecially for JURA coffee machin. It has a modular stcture and compris of an invative multi-functional filter head wh a family of compatible filter cartridg which offer various performance settings. The system family was digned pecially for specific apications in the vding sector. Thanks to their compact dign, the filter systems can be installed and operated almost anywhere be that in a vertical or horizontal posion, ee-standing or mounted. The filter cartridg are available in three siz: F2300 F3300 F5300 The filter head wh wall mounting bracket can be used for all three siz. 2 Specific information 2.1 Personnel The filter system may oy be installed and serviced by trained and authorised personnel. 2.2 Disclaimer All rights rerved. Store the componts in a dry ace whin a temperature range of -15 to +45 C. Do t use water that is microbiologically contaminated or that is of unkwn microbiological qualy whout prior suffic disinfection. Oy use the system in a location which is protected om ost and direct suight. The system must t come into contact wh chemicals, solvts and other vapours. Before commissioning the filter system, the automatic coffee machine connected to the supy must be ee of limcale. The filter cartridge must t be oped or disay any signs of mechanical damage. Reace the filter cartridge after a very long period of downtime. Reace the filter head wh wall mounting bracket after 5 years of operation and at the latt 6 years after s production date. This also api to pip and seals. Pay atttion to the date on the production stamp in this case. Rinse the system thoroughly after a longer period of downtime or after maintance has be carried out see the following table: Filter cartridge Quanty of rinse water after 1 week of downtime Quanty of rinse water after 4 weeks of downtime F l 25 l F l 40 l F l 60 l 3 Function The us an ion-selective filter medium in the flow to reduce the carbonate hardns of potable water. The DuoBld bypass valve in the filter head can be used to ada the hardns of the filtered water to the qualy of the local potable water and the automatic coffee machine used. We always recommd bypass level 1. The filter material also forms bonds wh heavy metal ions such as lead, copper and cadmium. The integrated active carbon block reduc undirable cloudins, organic impuri, odour and taste as well as chlorine ridue in the filtrate and bypass water. 4 Installation / setting 4.1 Safety-related installation instctions If the system prsure is greater than 8 bar, a prsure reducer must be connected upstream to the water-filtering system. A shut-off valve must be installed upstream of the water-filtering system. No copper pip, galvanised or nickel-coated pip or connectors may be installed betwe the water-filtering system and the automatic coffee machine. All componts must be installed according to country-specific guidelin. The standard DIN 1988 must be observed wh installing and operating the system. Oy use original accsory pip for the JURA water-filtering system as the have a longer thread. If the filter cartridge is removed om the filter head whout being reaced by a new one, the water supy to the filter head must be shut off. Do t connect anything to the flush pipe or flush valve. 4.2 Information on inial installation Firstly, idtify a suable ace to install the filter system. Note the information provided in chaer 2. Before you start installing the system, shut off the water supy and disconnect the automatic coffee machine om the power supy. Before installation, check the filter system and the accsori for any damage. Particular atttion must be paid wh inspecting the O-rings and seals. 7

4 If the filter cartridge has be stored below 0 C, must be stored at the amb temperature of the installation location for at least 24 hours before installation. The pip for the supy and discharge lin are t supied as standard but can be ordered as accsori. You will find more information in chaer Installing the filter head wh wall mounting bracket and filter cartridge The system can be operated in a ee-standing posion, wall-mounted in a vertical posion or horizontally. If mounting to a wall: Securely fast the wall mounting bracket to the wall using suable screws (t supied as standard). The dowels and screws must be selected in accordance wh the condion of the wall. Install the water iet and outlet pip at the filter head. Wh doing so, ease te the following points: Note the direction of flow (see markings on the filter head) Max. torque wh using guine CLARIS connection pip (accsory): 10 Nm. Filter heads wh 3/8" threaded connections must oy use connectors wh flat seals. Do t use pip or adaers wh conical screw connections, as they damage the connections and invalidate any warranty claims. Oy use screw adaers of a suable type and appropriate lgth. Wh unscrewed, they must t rt axially on the filter head. Unsuable adaers can damage the connections and invalidate any warranty claims. Direct the flush pipe into a suable container (e.g. bucket) or into a drain and op the flush valve (5). Turn on the water supy again. Insert the filter cartridge into the filter head and turn clockwise until the d posion is reached. This vts the system and flush the filter cartridge (F2300/ F3300 > 10 l, F5300 > 15 l). You can check the correct d posion using the matching marks (2) on the wall mounting bracket and filter cartridge. Close the flush valve. The water-filtering system is w ready for use. After installing the system and inserting or reacing a filter cartridge, check all componts for leaks. Water must t cape om any point Reacing a filter cartridge Place a container under the flush pipe. While the filter cartridge is being reaced, the automatic coffee machine and the water supy line are hydraulically disconnected om the filter head and the system deprsuris. Minimum quanti of water may therefore cape om the flush pipe due to peaks in prsure. Slowly unscrew the used filter cartridge in an anti-clockwise direction. This will uock om the filter head and allow to be removed. Direct the flush pipe into a suable container (e.g. bucket) or into a drain and op the flush valve (5). Remove the new filter cartridge om s packaging and check for damage. Insert the new filter cartridge into the filter head and turn clockwise until the d posion is reached. The flow in the filter head is reoped and the system is vted and flushed via the flush system (F2300/F3300 > 10 l, F5300 > 15 l). You can check the correct d posion using the matching marks (2) on the wall mounting bracket and filter cartridge. The flush water will be milky or cloudy at first. This is due to the dispersing air and will t take long to clear. Pay atttion to the posion of the label wh inserting the filter cartridge. The label should face forwards so that all of the necsary information is visible. Close the flush valve. The water-filtering system is w ready for use again. After reacing the filter cartridge, check all componts for leaks. Water must t cape om any point Setting the bypass level Wh using the water-filtering system, we always recommd bypass level Determining the filter capacy Based on the local carbonate hardns of the mains water and of bypass level 1, use the tabl in chaer 8 to idtify the rultant filter cartridge capacy. Please ter the installation date and time of reacemt in the corrponding fields (on which is possible to wre in p) on the filter cartridge label. 5 Service / maintance The system will oy function safely and reliably if the filter cartridge is reaced on a regular basis. The reacemt cycl depd on the carbonate hardns of the potable water, the apication and the set bypass level (we always recommd bypass level 1). We recommd reacing the filter cartridge after 6 months and later than after 12 months. The operator must check the system for leaks everyday. Wh reacing the filter cartridge, check all parts for impuri and damage.
