Providing fluid handling solutions has been a priority since Pneumadyne's inception. Gas Sampling System Customer Challenge A manufacturer of heavy equipment requires heat treatment of all steel components; a lengthy process that requires specific metallurgical measurements. Pneumadyne engineers were contacted to assist in the development of a method to sample gases and ensure consistent heat treatment of steel parts. Pneumadyne Solution To accommodate various sizes of heat-treat furnaces, Pneumadyne engineers designed a modular valve bank consisting of four solenoid valves with stainless steel internals. The modular design allows the number of valve banks to increase or decrease based upon the required number of test points in the continuous heat-treat process. When required, a computer signals the solenoid to pull a sample of the gases through a filter and route to a laser based detector module for analysis. After the test is complete, the computer signals the solenoid to shut off, reroute the sample to the next location and purge the system with nitrogen back to the furnace to clean the sample tube of contaminents. The ability to test during the heat treat process enables the gases and temperature to be adjusted immediately, guaranteeing consistency and decreasing the number of rejects. Real time sampling has also reduced heat treatment from 4 hours to 8 hours, saving time and lowering gas consumption. 4

5 YNE YNE MADYNE 0 mm Solenoid Assembly - Acrylic Manifold Originally designed for a major medical manufacturer, this compact valve assembly features eight 0 mm solenoid valves mounted on an acrylic manifold. All components are top mounted for easy access and plumbing convenience. Cushion Needle Valve An insertable cushion needle valve was designed and produced for a major cylinder manufacturer. Once inserted in the head of a cylinder the valve provides an air cushion for the rod assembly. This unique valve has an overall length of.537 and width of.70. Solenoid Operated Check Valve With miniaturization and integration as the goal, a solenoid operated check valve was designed to fill a vessel (cylinder) with gases and lock them in until vented at specified times during a machine cycle. This compact assembly features a 5mm solenoid valve mounted directly on a custom base with an internal check valve. Sequence Interlock Device A major disk drive manufacturer contacted Pneumadyne engineers to develop a device to control numerous single acting cylinders in production jigs. This compact assembly features a -way normally open valve with built in check and low-pressure air pilot allowing each cylinder to retract one at a time according to a desired sequence. The solenoid valve can be fixed in either direction on the manifold and coil orientation is independent of valve orientation. The low wattage (0.8 watt) version is ideal for use in low power control circuits. The 0 Series solenoids offer fast response times and consistent operation between valves. Single to -station manifolds are available with 0-3 (F) or M5 (F) threads. For added versatility, the single bases also feature 5/3 push-in or.5 mm porting options (.5 mm MSV0--M5 only). For plumbing convenience, the pressure, output and exhaust ports are located on one side of the manifold. This configuration requires less space and contributes to a cleaner and faster installation. Multiple station manifolds are available to compliment our solenoid and manual valve offering. Fluid circuit dynamics are improved by taking a customer schematic and designing a series of paths or channels that are then machined into layers of acrylic or other thermoplastic. Through a proprietary process, the layers are stacked and solvent bonded resulting in a medical grade, particle free structure.
