2 Redefine site lighting with a complete family of specification grade LED luminaires Reed Gardner introduced the Philips Gardco Form 10 Square HID luminaire in the late 1960 s and forever changed the market for outdoor area lighting. While pioneering concepts such as full cutoff, high lumen output efficiency and precisely engineered distribution patterns, Philips Gardco Lighting set most of the standards that are still in use today. The architecturally pure half cube proportions of the square housing quickly became the preferred shape by architects and lighting designers alike. Several years later, Philips Gardco again made an impact by introducing round counterparts, bringing understated style to the site plan and giving the architect a choice with classic forms that gracefully complement their surroundings. Philips Gardco Today, energy saving LED technology has changed the commercial landscape. With smaller technology and more efficient optics, the LED source allows for designing luminaires that are smaller and sleeker than their HID ancestors. Philips Gardco has risen to the challenge and is again ready to set the standard with clean, basic shapes designed to be used day in and day out SlenderForm.

Philips Gardco SlenderForm The SlenderForm family is built around an incredibly sleek profile of 3-3.7". Available in both square and round footprints, this series of high performance, specification grade luminaires offers configurations for pedestrian environments, large parking areas, parking garages, on the wall, under a canopy or in a ceiling. SlenderForm is far and away the most complete family of luminaires ever introduced by Philips Gardco. 1

4 SFV Single LED Array Just as before, it s hip to be square SFA Dual LED Array Almost immediately upon their introduction, the Square and Round Form 10 became the essential forms in outdoor area lighting. Remarkably, even to this day, the square shape is the top selling HID area luminaire form. In 2011, LED was added to the list of sources available in these classic luminaires. However, as with any luminaire where the LED source is integrated with legacy HID products, performance had to be compromised. A true LED luminaire is designed from the beginning around the source itself. The housing can be more compact while heat dissipation is a primary concern. The modernized square aesthetic of the SlenderForm offers an impressive solution and sets a new architectural standard. The basic square SlenderForm is a slim profile housing, less than one-quarter the 16" length and width. The rounded corners and inset reveals give the look a modern, distinctly LED character. Add an upsweep arm, and it becomes clear that SlenderForm is the natural LED successor to the HID Square Form 10. For applications that require more light output than a single LED array can provide, the SlenderForm Square family offers unique dual LED array solutions. In these higher lumen packages, the luminaire s overall shape becomes rectangular while still retaining the sleek SlenderForm aesthetic. The dual array version is perfectly at home when used with the single array units on the same site, serving to complement each other for a unified design. Both configurations are available with a choice of two arm variations. The standard arm provides a clean, elegant upsweep. If additional style is desired, SlenderForm offers the V arm configuration. This two-pronged design adds a unique architectural element to the overall look of SlenderForm, providing an understated sophistication. Although the V arm could be applied throughout an entire site, it might also be used in combination with the standard arm. Looks that needn t hide on high SFP Single LED Array Post Top luminaires are frequently placed in pedestrian scale applications such as walkways or pathways. These lower mounted installations dictate that extra consideration be given to the overall aesthetics of the luminaire. Accordingly, Philips Gardco engineers paid particular attention to evaluating the yoke design. The previous Philips Gardco standard twin parallel yoke appeared dated when connected to the new forms. Furthermore, some of the key issues such as shadowing are no longer a factor, allowing for a more integrated look to be accomplished. The final design is a contemporary V yoke, crafted to appropriately complement the SlenderForm design. The yoke seamlessly integrates into the body of the SlenderForm housing and, when utilized with a 4" OD round pole, flows just as gracefully into the pole itself. The transition from pole to housing takes on a very natural and modern appearance, resulting in an elegant solution that beautifully enhances the SlenderForm concept. Adding the dual array housing to the yoke mount opens up a whole new world of possibilities. The dual array housing on the yoke can replace 2 single array units at 180. The result is a unique look, one not seen anywhere else. When placed on the yoke, the luminaire appears more like two squares, rather than like a single rectangle. The luminaire also assumes a pleasing scale at mounting heights of 20 feet or higher. 3

Utilizing the SlenderForm series, the entire look of the site can be integrated to provide an architecturally diverse yet unified appearance. In 1992, Philips Gardco invented the full cutoff architectural wall sconce. Today, sconces are an integral part of almost every site lighting package. The 122 SlenderForm wall sconce adds to the impressive Philips Gardco offering. An extension of the 121 LED wall sconce, the 122 integrates classic design with high output illumination. The front profile of the 122 maintains the look and slim profile of SlenderForm while delivering high light levels and incredibly useful patterns. The 122 is a luminaire specifically designed and engineered around advanced LED sources. Philips Gardco engineers have succeeded in harnessing the power of the LED source to develop distinct, usable distributions with maximum light and minimal energy consumption. With a total of three defined patterns, wattages from 35w to 75w and lumen packages up to 5,500+, you can easily replace HID sources up to 175 watts while enjoying energy savings of up to 64%. 7 SlenderForm Site & Area Sconce & Recessed SlenderForm SFC luminaire SlenderForm SFC Canopy/Ceiling The SlenderForm SFC Canopy/Ceiling/Parking Garage luminaire features four distinct optical systems, bringing high output LED efficiency to the ceiling and canopy. Whether used in under outdoor canopies, on exterior ceilings or in parking garages, the SlenderForm SFC brings exquisite style to an otherwise ordinary environment. Its slim profile and distinctive twin reveals allow the unit to effortlessly complement its surroundings. But performance is where the SlenderForm really shines. Its high output Class 1 LED arrays allow for use in areas normally requiring much larger and bulkier equipment. Typical applications include exterior canopies, structures with high ceilings or that require higher than average light levels, and parking garage entrances. With LED wattages up to 130, surge protection options and integral motion response capability, this high output luminaire is an excellent choice for ceiling, canopy and parking garage applications. Controls can substantially increase the savings to the owner versus simply switching to the LED source. The simplest types of controls are the set and forget configurations available with SlenderForm. These include: Dimming, Dual Circuit Control, Automatic Profile Dimming, Motion Response with Pole Mounted Sensors, Motion Response with Integral Motion Sensors, and Automatic Profile Dimming with Motion Response Override, both with Integral and Pole mounted Motion Sensors. 9 SlenderForm Site & Area Sensors Automatic Profile Dimming (APD) The SlenderForm with Automatic Profile Dimming (-APD) provides guaranteed savings by reducing power and light output by 50% during periods of low traffic. By calculating the night-time midpoint, power is reduced by 50% during the two hours prior to and the six hours after. This results in additional energy savings of 33% on average. 2 hours 6 hours 100% 100% 50% 50% Power On Mid Point Power Off Automatic Profile Dimming with Motion Response Override (APD-MRO/APD-MRI) The SlenderForm with Automatic Profile Dimming with Motion Response Override provides the benefits of both configurations. As with the APD version, power and light output are reduced by 50% during the two hours prior and the six hours after the midpoint. However, if motion is detected during this time, the luminaire increases light output and power to 100%, until no motion is recognized for a 15 minute period. This provides the savings of automatic profile dimming with the assurance that motion response will provide the required light levels should someone be on the site during a normally low traffic period. The APD-MRO utilizes a pole mounted motion sensor and the APD-MRI uses an integral motion sensor. Motion Response (MR50/MRI) The SlenderForm with Motion Response provides light only when it's needed, reducing power by 50% when the site is not in use. Once motion is detected, the luminaire switches to full light output until no motion is recognized for a 15 minute period. The duration and sensitivity of the motion sensor is easily adjusted in the field. The MR50 utilizes a pole mounted motion sensor and the MRI uses an integral motion sensor. DynaDimmer The SlenderForm is available in several configurations that utilize the Philips DynaDimmer module. This energy saving module allows for energy savings up to 50% or more. 0-10V Dimming (DIM) The SlenderForm with 0-10V Dimming (-DIM) is designed for control by a 0-10V dimming system (supplied by others). Dual Circuit Control (DCC) The DCC configuration allows for separate circuiting of each LED board. 10 Controlling Heat Controlling light is only part of the challenge when operating an advanced LED system. The thermal management of high power LEDs is particularly critical. LED's produce heat. If this heat is not sufficiently removed, the LEDs will operate at greater temperatures, forcing them to be drastically less efficient, significantly less reliable and ultimately reducing both their lifespan and the life of their components. As you would expect from a Philips Gardco LED luminaire, great attention has been paid to thermal performance. The SlenderForm design permits maximized air flow, maximized LED system performance, and minimized junction temperature all critical elements to long luminaire service life. SlenderForm incorporates radiating aluminum fins as a part the housing itself, efficiently conducting heat away from the LED components. These fins are arranged in unique patterns designed to maximize airflow and to increase the overall thermal efficiency of the luminaire. Cooling air enters the luminaire by means of unique and distinctive bottom ports (square) and side ports (round). Substantial airflow is directed over and through the aluminum fins, ultimately venting up through the top and exhausting heat harmlessly out of the housing. The key outcome of SlenderForm s innovative design is that the LED junction temperature is held to an absolute minimum. Thoroughly tested and meticulously finetuned to maximize flow and to minimize hot spots, the unique design provides the longest possible LED and component life. 8 Philips Gardco

Each feature reveals an innovative, sensible and highly sophisticated approach to achieving long-term performance and trouble-free operation. SFC / SFA / SFV Single Array Advanced LED Arrays The Class 1 advanced LED arrays are available in four unique configurations in both the Area and ceiling mounted configurations. Each LED is encased in its own unique optic and placed within the array to provide precise illumination patterns. Die Cast Aluminum Door Frame The door frame allows easy access to the LED assembly. It is secured in place with (4) recessed hex-head screws. A glass lens is provided standard while a diffuse glass lens is optional. Heat Sink Aluminium heatsink fins are built into the top of the luminaire, above the LED board. These work by convecting heat away from the LED and driver assembly, helping to assure long component life. Access to the LED Array The LED arrays are accessed by loosening the hex-head recessed set screws on each side of the door assembly. Easy Access to Driver Should maintenance be required, the driver is easily accessed through the side channel of the luminaire housing. Working in conjunction with the door frame, the housing assembly is engineered to provide convective airflow and passthrough ventilation. Yoke Mounting The elegant yoke assembly provides a clean transition from the luminaire to a 4" OD pole. Wiring is easily accessed by removing two set screws on the access panel at the base of the yoke. Long-Lasting Finishes The finish is a fade and abrasion resistant, electrostatically applied, thermally cured TGIC powdercoat. SlenderForm housings are thoroughly cleaned treated prior to paint application. Standard colors feature the lightly textured Philips Gardco finish. Custom colors may vary in texture, so please consult factory. Vibration Resistance SlenderForm has been designed to withstand the rigors of the harsh and complex environments. SlenderForm carries a 3G vibration rating that conforms to standards set forth by ANSI C Testing includes vibration to 3G acceleration in three axes, all performed on the same luminaire, and is applicable towards bridge and overpass applications. A glass lens is provided standard while a diffuse glass lens is optional. SFC Recessed Mounting The SlenderForm luminaire is also available as a recessed unit. The unit mounts to a drywall ceiling with wood supports. The luminaire may be installed from above or below the ceiling. Note that the SlenderForm Luminaire is NON-IC and requires a 3" clearance from insulation in all directions. Surface Ceiling Mounting Installation is both intuitive and efficient. The unit is loosened from the die-formed mounting plate, which is then attached to the junction-box. The luminaire is supported on an integral hanger tab to facilitate wiring before being attached and secured in place. Pendant mounting is also available. SFCR 13

Enhanced visibility, greater efficiency and tighter control reduces the number of luminaires necessary to light an area to the desired levels. Utilizing energy efficient advanced LED technology provides for increased light output and an extended lifespan when compared with traditional HID sources, while drawing a much smaller amount of power. While LEDs are beginning to become commonplace in outdoor lighting, it is important to note that not all LED systems are created equal. Drawing from its long tradition of providing efficient, high performance optics, Philips Gardco engineers work tirelessly to capture the light output from each individual LED and direct it to where it's needed most. Each LED is encased in its own unique optic and placed within the array to provide precise patterns not previously seen before. Not only are these patterns designed to correspond to the most typical area lighting scenarios, but edge lighting is tightly controlled as well. This allows for lighting layouts that can easily achieve stringent LEED outdoor lighting requirements. Of course, like all Philips Gardco performance optics, these systems deliver uniform illumination free from hot spots and striations. Glare is significantly reduced. 17 SlenderForm Site & Area Performance Distributions SFA / SFV / SFP Square Area The advanced LED optical system in the SlenderForm square area luminaires provide IES II, III, IV and V distributions. All Square configurations are provided standard with a glass lens. A diffuse lens is available as an option. All SlenderForm luminaires provide full cutoff performance. Type 2 The IES Type II is the preferred choice for roadway or narrow entrance areas. The SlenderForm Type 2 distribution provides a clean, asymmetric pattern with maximized lateral throw, yet still provides a favorable amount of forward throw. The backlight control built into the optical design further enhances its usability. The Type 2 distribution works extremely well in walkway and roadway applications where more light is required street side than house side. Type 3 IES Type III optics usually produce an asymmetrical pattern that directs the majority of the light forward and equally on both sides of the luminaire. The SlenderForm Type 3 brings in the lateral spacing slightly, while significantly increasing the forward throw, making it extremely useful along the site perimeter. In a twin back-to-back configuration, it creates a beautiful rectangular pattern which can extend pole spacings for parking lot interiors. Type 4 The SlenderForm Type 4 maximizes the forward throw projection with only a modest compromise in the lateral directions. The strong lateral throw permits 5 mounting height spacing along the curb line. Type 5 For large area lighting, where maximizing pole spacing is the goal, the SlenderForm Type 5 is the answer. Utilizing this extremely efficient optic, SlenderForm can provide wide pole spacings. 15

18 Distributions SFC Ceiling / Canopy / Parking Garage The advanced LED optical system in the SlenderForm ceiling/canopy/parking garage luminaires provide IES Type III and Type V wide, and rectangular distributions. A Concentrated Downlight distribution is also available. All configurations are provided standard with a glass lens. A diffuse lens is available as an option. All SlenderForm luminaires provide full cutoff performance. Type 3 If an asymmetric distribution is needed, the Type 3 does the job. The excellent throw both forward and laterally, projects light from under a canopy into nearby parking or landscape areas, for instance. Type 5W For maximized throw in all directions, the Type 5W is the choice. In large areas, Type 5W will provide uniform lighting with fewer luminaires. Type 5R Peak candlepower at the corners from the 5R s rectangular pattern means higher light levels, fewer dark zones, minimum wasteful pattern overlap, and generally, the better visibility that accompanies uniform lighting. Type CD The Concentrated Downlight distribution provides a circular pattern of concentrated, high light levels directly below the luminaire. This is ideal at garage entrances important as a transition zone during the daytime or in areas of the parking garage where mounting heights are higher than normal. 16 Philips Gardco

19 SlenderForm Site & Area Performance Distributions 122 SlenderForm Sconce The Philips Gardco 122 SlenderForm Sconce features an advanced LED array system that virtually redefines illumination from the wall. Available in three unique and practical patterns, the improved visibility, increased efficiency and tighter control reduces the quantity of luminaires required to light a space to the desired levels. This contributes to substantial cost savings and reduced environmental impact in both the short and long term. Type 2 A Type II (2) wide throw with maximized lateral spacing. Type 3 A Type III (3) optimized wide throw that adds excellent forward contribution. Type 4 A Type IV (4) with maximized forward throw distribution for small parking areas. The three-dimensional interpretation of typical performance presented here demonstrates the asymmetric distributions available with Types 2, 3 and 4 optical systems. Enhancement of the building facade as well as reduced glare illumination are all part of the sconce standard offering. Note the significant drop off of these optical systems at the edge of the distribution. 17

22 SFA / SFV / SFP / SFR Specifications Philips Gardco SlenderForm luminaires combine LED performance excellence and advanced Philips Gardco LED thermal management technology with a distinct styling to provide outdoor area lighting that is both energy efficient and aesthetically pleasing. SlenderForm is defined by its high performance, sleek low profile design and rugged construction. The die cast aluminum housing has a maximum profile of just 3". The advanced LED optical systems provide IES Types II, III, IV and V distributions. All LED wattages utilize high performance Class 1 LED systems. The luminaire features a state of the art integral thermal control system to maximize LED performance and life, and to extend component life. The door frame is die cast aluminum. Luminaires are finished with a fade and abrasion resistant TGIC powdercoat. All SlenderForm luminaires provide full cutoff performance, with 0% lumens at or above 90 above nadir. SFV Single LED Array Housing (SFA / SFV) Philips Gardco SlenderForm housing consists of a rugged extruded aluminum housing body with an integral LED thermal management system, with die cast aluminum end caps. SFA and SFV luminaires arrive with the arm factory installed. As a result, the luminaires provide the functionality, strength and installation ease of an integral arm luminaire. Housing (SFP) Philips Gardco SlenderForm housing consists of a rugged extruded aluminum housing body with an integral LED thermal management system, with die cast aluminum end caps. Housing (SFR) The SlenderForm features a die cast aluminum housing, and mounts directly to a pole. SFRA luminaires arrive with the arm factory installed. As a result, the luminaires provide the functionality, strength and installation ease of an integral arm luminaire. IP Rating SlenderForm luminaires have a rating of IP66. Vibration Resistance SlenderForm carries a 3G vibration rating that conforms to standards set forth by ANSI C Testing includes vibration to 3G acceleration in three axes, all performed on the same luminaire. Electrical Luminaires are equipped with an LED driver that accepts 120V through 277V, or 347V through 480V, 50hz to 60hz, input. Driver output is based on the LED wattage selected. Component-to-component wiring within the luminaire will carry no more than 80% of rated current and is listed by UL for use at 600 VAC at 302 F / 150 C or higher. Plug disconnects are listed by UL for use at 600 VAC, 15A or higher. Power factor is not less than 90%. Luminaire consumes 0.0 watts in the off state. All motion sensors utilized consume 0.0 watts in the off state. 23 SFC Specifications Each Philips Gardco SlenderForm luminaire is a ceiling surface, ceiling pendant or recessed mounted ceiling / canopy / garage luminaire featuring LEDs mounted in a fixed array. Internal components are totally enclosed in a rain-tight, dust-tight and corrosion resistant housing. Luminaires are suitable for wet locations. SFC SlenderForm Site & Area Specifications Housing The Philips Gardco SlenderForm housing consists of a rugged extruded aluminum housing body with an integral LED thermal management system, with die cast aluminum end caps. IP Rating SlenderForm Ceiling/Canopy luminaires have an IP rating of IP65. Surface Mounted Luminaires Quick Mount Plate And Mounting A die formed 14 ga. galvanized steel plate is supplied for mounting to a recessed, surface, or rigid pendant hung 4" (10.16 cm) j-box (standard j-box and rigid pendant by others). All pendants, including rigid pendants and swivel pendants are supplied by others. Vibration Resistance SlenderForm carries a 3G vibration rating that conforms to standards set forth by ANSI C Testing includes vibration to 3G acceleration in three axes, all performed on the same luminaire. Electrical Luminaires are equipped with an LED driver system that accepts 120V through 277V, 50hz to 60hz, (UNIV), or a driver that accepts 347V or 480V input. Componentto-component wiring within the luminaire will carry no more than 80% of rated current and is listed by UL for use at 600 VAC at 302 F/150 C or higher. Power factor is not less than 90%. Luminaires consume 0.0 watts in the off state. Recessed Mounted Luminaires SFCR luminaires are provided with a recessed mounting kit for installation in a drywall ceiling which includes a wood support structure. SFCR luminaires are not suitable for installation in a grid ceiling. Mounting kit includes a flush trim assembly. Installation can be performed from above or below the ceiling. The mounting kit has adjustable supports that mount to wooden support beams, capable of adjustment from a minimum 20" to a maximum 23.4" spacing. SFCR luminaires are rated non-ic and require a minimum 3" clearance from insulation in all directions. The bottom of the luminaire will be approximately 1" below the ceiling itself after installation. Recessed Luminaires are not available with Motion Response. Recessed Luminaires are not available in 90LA or 130LA LED wattages Finish Each luminaire receives a fade and abrasion resistant, electrostatically applied, thermally cured, triglycidal isocyanurate (TGIC) textured polyester powdercoat finish. Luminaires feature advanced LED thermal management technology. High performance Class 1 LED systems offer potential energy savings of 50 % or more compared to HID systems. 112 Housing Housings are die cast aluminum. A memory retentive gasket seals the housing to the door frame to exclude moisture, dust, insects and pollutants from the optical system. A black, die cast ribbed backplate dissipates heat for longer system life. IP Rating Luminaires are rated IP66.
