1 OVERVIEW KU OVERVIEW The KU diffusers with concentric cones are generally fitted in counter ceilings as they can be used in a wide range of commercial, work and industrial spaces with an installation height between 2,5 and 6 metres according to size and model. MODELS KU4 series model Fixed cone aluminium diffusers, painted silver RAL 9006 or RAL 9003 with epoxy powder, complete with regulation damper. These diffusers are used for installations between 2,6 and 4,1 metres maximum. The diffuser is fixed laterally using screws to the connection piece of the duct or plenum and using the supplied fixing bridge for use in counter ceilings. Available sizes: neck size 150, 200, 250, 300 and 350mm. Available versions: version painted silver RAL 9006 and white RAL Series KU5 KU6 KU8 The KU5 KU6 KU8 series diffusers are composed of a fixed external cone and central part composed of individually cones that can be adjusted individually and to a millimetre. The different position of the cones allows to vary the direction of the air flow, so as to obtain horizontal air flows (in cooling) or vertical air flows (in heating). These diffusers are installed at a height ranging from 2,6 to 6 meters in height. The diffuser is fixed laterally using screws to the connection piece of the duct or plenum, alternatively they can be fitter to counter ceilings using clips. The air flow regulation is made by rising or lowering each individual cone. Series These diffusers are made completely with antistatic self extinguishing ABS material painted white RAL 9010 and come complete with fixing clips for fixing to flexible ducts. Available sizes: neck size 160, 20 and 250mm. Accessories: counter ceiling fixing clips, quick fitting ABS panel 595x595mm for modular counter ceilings. Available versions: basic and another to include segmented regulation damper that can be adjusted once diffuser has been installed through the central fixed cone. KU5 Series Composed by aluminium cones painted white RAL 9010 with epoxy powder and micrometric galvanized carbon steel regulation screw. It is also available to paint the diffuser in other RAL colours. Available sizes: neck size 100, 150, 160, 200, 250, 300, 315, 350, 355, 400, 450, 500 and 630mm. Accessories: counter ceiling fixing clips for diameters 150mm to 315 included, butterfly regulation damper adjustable after installation using screwdriver, angled collecting dampers. Available models: basic, one with thermostatic self adjusting spring, version on 595x595mm panel for modular counter ceilings for neck sizes up to 300mm, version with "fineline" panel size 595x595 and 670x670mm for neck sizes up to 300mm, version perforated steel equalizer. KU6 Series Made with aluminium cones painted with white epoxy powder RAL 9010, micrometric regulation screw and antistatic ABS fixed central cone completely self extinguishing and painted white RAL Available sizes: neck size 100, 150, 160, 200, 250, 300, 315mm. Accessories: counter ceiling fixing clips for neck diameters 150 up to and including 315mm, butterfly regulation damper adjustable after installation using screwdriver, angled collecting dampers. Available models: basic, one with thermostatic self adjusting spring, version on 595x595mm panel for modular counter ceilings for neck sizes up to 300mm, version with "fineline" panel size 595x595 and 670x670mm for neck sizes up to 300mm and version with segment regulation damper adjustable after installation from the central fixed cone on sizes 150, 200 and 260mm. KU8 Series Manufactured with a carbon galvanized steel external cone, painted white RAL 9010, with internal aluminium cones painted whiter RAL 9010 in epoxy powder and with a micrometric regulation screw and fixed central cone made from antistatic self extinguishing ABS material painted white RAL Incorporated butterfly regulation damper adjustable after installation using a screwdriver. 2 OVERVIEW KU KU9 Series Single cone diffusers painted with epoxy powder in white RAL 9010, ideal for medium to low air flows. These diffusers are installed at heights between 2,5 and 5 meters. The single central cone gives the diffuser a refined look adequate even for meeting rooms. It is also possible to paint the diffuser in different RAL colours. Available sizes: neck size 100,150, 160, 200, 250, 300, 315mm. Accessories: counter ceiling fixing clips for neck sizes 150 to 250mm included. 3 OVERVIEW KU 2 SEIRES OVERVIEW: The KU series of diffusers are composed from an external containment cone and by a central adjustable section with cones that may be adjusted individually to the nearest millimetre. The different positioning of the round elements allows to vary the direction of the air to obtain combined or single are flows, both vertically or horizontally. For this reason, this supply air diffuser is ideal in all those applications where it is necessary to heat or cool. In the same way it can be used for the extraction of air from the room. The standard height of installation of the diffuser is between 2.6 and 6 metres. H Ø F Ø D Ø C INSTALLATION : The diffuser is fixed laterally using screws directly to the plenum's connection. Various clips are available to fix the diffuser to plaster board counter ceilings and versions with flat or lowered "fineline" panels for use in modular counter ceilings. Ø D REGULATION DAMPER: The KU8 series diffusers are supplied with a butterfly regulation damper adjustable using a screw-driver from the face side of the diffuser. The diffusers and some sizes of the KU6 series diffusers are available with a segmented regulation damper that can be adjusted once installed by acting on the central cone of the diffuser. The KU5 and KU6 diffusers may be supplied with a butterfly damper adjustable using a screw-driver from the face side of the diffuser. 5 VERSION WITH AUTOMATIC REGULATION WITH THERMOSTATIC SPRING CT The KU5 CT diffusers allow to automatically regulate the cones in the or position without the need of a technician. The work without any auxiliary power (e.g.. electrical power supply) and do not require any maintenance. The movement of the intermediate cones is controlled by means of a special shape remembering spring who's cycle of use determines the position of the cones in relations to the temperature. In this way the flow of air is controlled in relation to the temperature, enabling the intermediate cones to be always in the optimal position, both when in the cooling and heating faze. The memory spring varies its extension within a temperature range of 14 C and 40 C. The minimum lasting time of the spring is 100,000 cycles. A cycle is given from an extension followed by a compression of the spring. If, for example, we consider to be in the position to start the system in the morning and to turn it off in the evening, the spring will last o average about 270 years. 7 FINELINE VERSION KUF5 KUF6 OVERVIEW The KUF5 and KUF6 series diffusers are conceived for fitting within modular ceilings with a shaped panel. They are built in different versions for the various types of applications and ceiling pattern. They are composed by a adjustable cones diffusers, series KU5 and KU6 and of a carbon steel sheet pressure shaped panel. 8 VERSION WITH SEGMENT DAMPER S KU6S OVERVIEW The S and KU6S series diffusers are equipped with segment regulation damper that can be adjusted for the outside acting on the central cone. 9 SELECTION SELECTION METHOD Using the diagram shown below it is possible to make a first selection of the diffuser on the basis of the air flow. Saying so, it is advised to verify, using the diagrams of the technical data shown in the following pages, the actual compliance of the choice made with the specific use intended for the diffuser. CONE REGULATION The technical data considers two regulation positions for the diffuser cones, "" and "". Summer regulation The regulation corresponds to the lowering of the central cones up to almost 15mm below the actual height of the ceiling. This regulation achieves a fresh air horizontal throw which, supported by the coanda effect, flows along the ceiling, gradually mixing with the air in the room therefore avoiding air currents forming with the occupied area. Winter regulation The regulation corresponds to the lifting of the central cones up to almost 15mm above the actual height of the ceiling. This regulation drives the hot air directly towards the occupied area, avoiding any different air temperature layers from forming. 23 PLENUM FOR CIRCULAR DIFFUSER PP 60 OVERVIEW PLENUM : The PP60 plenums, also named "calm cases", allow the correct entry of air in the neck of the diffuser thus ensuring that the throw of air in the room is homogenous along all the circumference of the diffuser. Materials : PP 60 standard plenum : galvanized steel sheet. Insulation: expanded polyethylene certified for the reaction to fire according to Italian class 1. Versions : Made from insulated steel sheet with expanded polyethylene, ideal for the supply of air, and in simple sheet steel normally used for air extraction. Accessories: Regulation damper and equalizing net in the connection of the plenum.
