3 STE FIST HOLE SECOND HOLE [Figure ] H The Twin Tube [] shank contains two mounting holes. The ideal hole is the second hole in from the end. If the shank bottoms out inside the receiver hitch, or if you need maximum clearance for a tailgate, use the first hole. [Figure ] H second Spring Nut [H] is included for the Hand-Tighten Silent Hitch in [D]. Holes are located on either side of the Twin Tube for customer choice of location (only one side is needed). STE EQUIED TOOL: 7/ WENCH Slide the TwinTube [] Shank into the receiver hitch aligning the pin holes. ttach with Silent Hitch in [C], Lock Washer [E], and Flat Washer [F] through the Spring Nut [H]. Tighten Securely. ttach etainer Clip [B]. [Figure 7] Install two ubber Bumpers [L] (one onto each fixed tube) and two End Caps [J] (if not already factory installed) [Figure 5 & 6]. The remaining hand-tighten Silent Hitch in [D], lastic Bushing [G] and etainer Clip [B] will be used to secure the Let s Go ero cargo carrier to the TwinTube in Step 6. 4 STE 3 Locate the Telescope Tubes [] and orient them to the Spine ssembly [] with the weld seam down and with the hole away from the Spine. The hole in each Telescope Tube must line up with the hole in the Fixed Tube. [Figure ] [Figure ] HOLES UST LIGN STE EQUIED TOOL: / WENCH O SOCKET ount the two () Wings [N] by placing eight () 5/6 Carriage Bolts [Q] running through the pre-drilled square mounting holes located in the Wing. osition each Wing on the Telescope Slide Tubes [] approx 6 apart. Secure the Wings to the Telescope Tubes using four () Hat Brackets [] with a 5/6" Washer [T], and a 5/6 Nylock Nut [U] on each Carriage Bolt. On one Hat Bracket assembly only, (located on the side of the carrier facing away from the vehicle on the inside of the spine) include the looped end of the Safety Cable [] between the Hat Bracket and the Wing. Hand-Tighten only at this time. [Figure 9] [Figure 9] Q T U N STE 5 The Safety Cable [] must be attached to the Spine [] in one of two positions. OSITION ONE is the recommended position. [Figure ] OSITION TWO will allow the capsule to slide out an extra five inches if necessary for rear hatch, tailgate or door clearance. 5 STE 6 Insert the Hand-Tighten Silent Hitch in [D] with handle through the tube where Spring Nut [H] has been inserted from Step. Tighten firmly and apply etainer Clip [B]. [Figure 3] G SFE USE OETION Be sure to follow these guidelines to prevent possible hazard Vehicle and Hitch eceiver Compliance This GearDeck Cargo Carrier fits " size hitch receivers and is rated for a Class II tow capability or higher. Before using this product, consult your vehicle and hitch receiver owner manual(s) for details on your tow and tongue weight parameters. Be sure that they are compatible with GearDeck s weight specifications. Tongue Weight Compliance The GearDeck and its cargo create a combined weight that creates direct downward pressure on the hitch receiver s tongue. This downward pressure is the tongue weight. Tongue weight is one of the two critical weight rating factors of your tow rating s classification. Never exceed your vehicle and hitch receiver s tongue weight specification. GearDeck Weight and Load arameters The GearDeck weighs 0 lbs unloaded. To determine your available load weight in accordance with your vehicle and hitch receiver s tongue weight rating, subtract GearDeck s 0 lbs from your identified tongue weight rating. The difference represents your vehicle and hitch receiver s available load weight. The GearDeck is rated for up to 300 lbs of cargo weight carrying capacity for a combined weight of 30 lbs when fully weight loaded. Sliding Out GearDeck High ipe Cargo Carrier & Clearance djustability To telescope the GearDeck, remove the Hand Tighten Silent Hitch in from the Telescope Safety pin hole. Verify that the Safety Cable is secured and then slide the frame to the rear. When adjusting the position of capsule clamps for added clearance needs, be sure to adhere to NO USE E distance of 3.5 inches rearward from Spine s vertical plate along the frame tubes. Locking Up GearDeck hole is tapped on the front lid for use of a lock (not included). padlock works well. 7 STE 6 EQUIED TOOL: 7/6 SOCKET STE 7 EQUIED TOOL: 7/6 SOCKET 5/3 LLEN WENCH lace the Tray [V] over the Wings [N] of the TwinTube and line up the holes in the tray with the holes in the Wings. Install a /-0 Bolt [W] and a /" x -/" Fender Washer [Z] in each hole in the bottom of the Tray through the Wings. Secure each bolt to the TwinTube Wing with a /" Flat Washer [X] and a /-0 Nylock Nut [Y]. In large drainage holes at the bottom of the Tray, install four () Drain lugs []. [Figure X] Securely tighten all connections from previous steps at this time. [Figure ] Locate the Fixed Lid [BB] with the latches on the side. lace it on the side of the Tray [V] nearest the vehicle. lign the four () holes in the sides of the Lid with the holes in the Tray. lace a /-0 x Button Socket Head Cap Bolt [EE] over a larger / x Stainless Steel Fender Washer [FF] and insert the bolt into the hole from the outside. Thread a smaller /" Washer [GG] and /-0 Nylock Nut [JJ] over the bolt from the inside and tighten with an llen Wrench and 7/6" socket. epeat at all four () locations. 8 STE EQUIED TOOL: 0 WENCH & HILLIS SCEW DIVE Unbolt LED Light Hardware supplied on the LED Lights [NN] and then reattach onto LED ount Bracket []. On one side of the carrier or rack also include License late Brackets [QQ] as shown. Use 6 mm Hex Bolts [SS] and 6 mm Nylon Nuts [TT] to install Customer Supplied License late (License late Not Included) onto License late Brackets as shown. Use 6 mm Hex Bolts [SS], Washers [UU] and 6 mm Nylon Nuts [TT] to install LED Light Brackets [] with mounted hardware and LED Lights onto the carrier. Connect LED Lighting to the Wire Harness [] with the Yellow Wire connected to the left (Drivers Side) and the Green Wire connected to the right (assenger Side) of the vehicle. Weave the Wire Harness through the underside of rack or carrier to prevent Wire drag. Connect the Wire Harness to vehicle trailer light connection on rear of vehicle. 10 SFE USE DJUSTBILITY - aximum Clearance EQUIED TOOL: / WENCH You may adjust the position of the capsule by loosening the four Hat Brackets []. Tighten each Bracket securely after you have made any adjustment. Brackets can be moved along the Telescope Tubes [] for maximum clearance between the back of the vehicle and the GearDeck. Be sure Brackets are fully tightened before transit. For most door clearance needs, use the first shank hole position in the hitch and place the Safety Cable [] in position two. This renders approximately 36 inches of slide clearance from hitch pin hole to capsule, providing sufficient clearance for most Sprinter V, hatches and tailgate doors.
