The at Augusta at Farmington at Fort Kent at Machias at Presque Isle University of Southern Maine Q1. Is the sand / slat mix provided by the University covered and if so can a loader drive in? A1..Yes it is covered and yes a loader can drive into it. Q2. Is power available at the salt/sand shed to plug equipment into to heat? A2. Yes, the University will provide power. Q3. Is the contractor required to include sanding/salting of the sidewalks as part of the alternative pricing for clearing of sidewalks / walkways? A3. Yes, the contractor, if awarded, will be responsible for sanding and / or salting of sidewalks, entryways, exterior stairs, and exedra. The University will provide the salt and/or sand. Q4. Section 2.1.1 Scoring Weights of the RFP list Appendix G & H worth 60 points, where is Appendix G & H? A4. Correction, Appendix D (References) and Appendix E (Organization Qualifications and Experience) are to be scored by the University and are worth 60 points. Q5. Is Marine and Professional Insurance required? A5. No Q6. Are the wide pathways considered sidewalks or roads? A6. Sidewalks Q7. Does all of services required to be bid on? A7. No, Respondents are not required to bid on alternative pricing for Gorham Sideways / walkways or Portland Campus. 1

Q8. Is the Contractor required to monitor slippery conditions? A8. No, the University will monitor for slippery conditions, i.e. snow melt and re-freeze. The University will apply sand/salt when needed. The University will contact the Contractor if services are needed to be performed by the Contractor and will be invoiced per call-in as indicated in the Cost Response Form under Additional Services On- Call / As-Needed. Q9. Is the Contractor required to clear the emergency call boxes? A9. No, the University staff will clear the emergency call boxes, Contractor shall NOT pile snow next to or onto the boxes. Q10. Who is responsible for towing of vehicles, if needed? A10. The University will tow vehicles. Contractor shall leave a two (2) stall space buffer of each side of vehicle when plowing to prevent accidents. Q11. Can the Contractor be notified of closures due to weather? A11. Yes, the University has an automatic notification system that will text a school closure. Awarded Contractor will be shown how to register cellphone(s) to receive the text. Q12. Does Portland have the same time schedule as Gorham regarding when it needs to be cleared? A12. Yes Q13. Can equipment be staged at the Gorham Campus? A13. Yes, vehicles can be staged in the parking lot G13C. Q14. Can equipment be staged at the Portland Campus? A14. Yes, however space is very limited to one (1) piece of equipment, i.e. loader. Q15. What Contractors attended the Mandatory Pre-bid Conference / Walkthroughs? A15. Gorham Campus Pre-bid included Risbara Bros., Dearborn Construction, DDI Construction, Seabreeze, and Solid Ground. Portland Campus Pre-bid included Risbara Bros. and Sebreeze. Q16. Cost Response Forms Exhibit 1 and Exhibit 3 under Additional Pricing for on-call / as-needed services when requested by the University has an hourly rate for for loading & hauling snow off campus to a snow dump, within a five mile radius of the Gorham campus, that meets all applicable codes and regulations on an hourly basis, can this be by each piece of 2

equipment and does this include tipping fees if snow needs to be hauled off campus? A17. Respondents should include pricing for each piece of equipment and pricing shall include the equipment and operator on an hourly basis. Tipping fee shall be listed separately as usually Contractor will be dumping the snow in a designated area on campus at both Gorham and Portland Campuses.
