Headlamp wiper arm Lift up the protective cover over the nut Slacken off the nut a few turns. Leave the nut in place to protect the threads on the shaft journal Remove the wiper arm from the shaft journal. Use a pipe spanner supported against the nut Remove the nut and wiper arm Disconnect the hose. Headlamp wiper motor Remove the headlamp wiper arm Remove the radiator grille. See Radiator grille, replacing (2003) or Radiator grille, replacing (2004) Remove Casing, bumper front, replacing Remove Cover strip Remove Shock absorbers Remove Headlamp/bulb, replacing Disconnect the connector for the headlamp wiper motor Remove the 2 screws from the headlamp wiper motor Remove the headlamp wiper motor. Installation Headlamp wiper motor Position the headlamp wiper motor Install the screws. First tighten the inner screw. Then tighten the outer screw. Tighten the screws. Tighten to: 8 Nm Connect the connector InstallHeadlamp/bulb, replacing InstallShock absorbers InstallCover strip InstallCasing, bumper front, replacing InstallRadiator grille, replacing. Headlamp wiper arm Press the wiper arm into place on the shaft journal

Adjust the headlamp wiper arm on the right of the car. The wiper blade must be slightly under the stop when the nut is tightened. Then lift the blade over the stop. The blade must be pressed against the stop. As illustrated in A.. On the left of the car the blade should be above the stop when the nut is tightened. See illustration B. Tighten the nut. Tighten to 3.5 Nm Install the hose Check the function of the headlamp wipers. Check that wiper arms park horizontally.

Then fold backwards and downwards (3) Remove the bulb (4). Parking lamps Disconnect and push the hose for the control module box to one side (when replacing on the righthand side) Twist off the cover Pull off the holder with the bulb Pull the bulb out from the holder. Headlamps Switch off the ignition Set the switch for external lighting to zero Remove the front turn signal lamp. From week 0026 inclusive, the parking lamps in the US market will be integrated in the headlamp unit rather than in the turn signal lamps. If replacing the headlamp on a car manufactured prior to week 0026, the parking lamp remains integrated in the turn signal lamps so that both headlamps are configured in the same way. If the parking lamp lights in the headlamp unit, remove the bulb for the parking lamp. Installation Headlamps For the tightening torques, see below.
