Speil Informtion Brvo Three Notie: Trim IN Limit Bloks or Limit Pin NOTE: Some erlier Brvo Three models will e equipped with Trim-In Limit Bloks, lter model Brvo One, Two, nd Three will hve Trim-In Limit Pin. Refer to Se. 4A for informtion on Removl, Instlltion, or Adjustment of Trim-In Limit Bloks. It hs een rought to our ttention tht some ots (predominntly deep-vee hevy ots) will roll up on their side under ertin, speifi, operting onditions. The roll n e either to port or strord nd my e experiened while moving stright hed, or while mking turn. The roll ours most frequently t or ner mximum speed, with the drive unit trimmed t or ner full IN. While the ot will not roll ompletely over, the roll my e suffiient to unset the opertor or pssengers, nd therey rete n unsfe sitution. The roll is used y stern lift. Stern lift n e reted y exessive drive unit trim In. Under these extreme stern lift / ow down onditions instility n e reted whih my use the ot to roll. Weight distriution to the stern n redue stern lift nd, in some irumstnes, eliminte the ondition. Weight distriution in the ow, port or strord, my worsen the ondition. The Trim IN limit devies redue stern lift y preventing the drive unit from rehing the lst few degrees of full trim under. While this devie should redue the rolling tendeny, they my not eliminte the tendeny entirely. The need for these trim IN limit loks or pin, nd the effetiveness of them, n only e determined through ot testing nd is ultimtely the responsiility of the ot mnufturer. WARNING It is reommended tht only qulified personnel remove or djust the Trim IN Limit Bloks or djust the Trim-In Limit Pin. Bot must e wter tested fter removing or djusting the devie to ensure tht the modified trim IN rnge does not use the ot to exhiit n undesirle ot hndling hrteristi if the drive unit is trimmed IN t higher speeds. Inresed trim IN rnge my use hndling prolems on some ots whih ould result in personl injury. IMPORTANT: On Brvo One, Two, nd Three Models, the Trim-In Limit Pin (If equipped), must e properly positioned efore instlling the trim ylinder nhor pin in the following steps. NOTE: When removing the sterndrive unit, mke note of the position of the pin for referene when reinstlling the drive unit.

1. If equipped, ensure tht the Trim-In Limit Pin is positioned s shown for the pproprite Brvo model. 75157 75158 Brvo One nd Two (Positioned Forwrd) Brvo Three (Positioned Aft) - Trim-In Limit Pin IMPORTANT: The position of the Trim-In Limit Pin on the Brvo Three sterndrive unit should only e hnged fter the ot hs een properly tested. Contt the ot mnufturer if you re not sure of the originl position for prtiulr ot pplition. Trim In Limit Bloks - Removl, Instlltion or Adjustment IMPORTANT: Prior to working on trim ylinders, mke note of the position of Trim-In Limit Bloks, if so equipped. CAUTION Avoid trnsom/drive lignment error or interferene, or sting dmge. Alwys instll Trim IN Limit Bloks with letters fing up (towrd the giml ring levis). 1. Disonnet the forwrd ends of oth trim ylinders nd remove the ylinders nd their mounting hrdwre from the nhor pin. DO NOT disonnet the trim hoses. 2. Slide the nhor pin out of the giml ring. Follow instrutions, or :. To remove loks: Continue to slide nhor pin out until the trim limit loks fll off of the pin.

. To Instll or djust loks to e 3/4 in. (19mm) of trim IN limit: Ple lok A on the port side nd lok B on the strord side. After instlltion or djustment: Push the nhor pin through the Trim IN Limit Bloks nd on through the giml ring. 4. Reinstll the trim ylinder(s) nd mounting hrdwre. 5. Test the ot to ensure the proper trim IN limit ws hosen. NOTE: If these Trim IN Limit Bloks do not provide the proper trim IN tht is required for your pplition, the following Quiksilver kits re ville (DO NOT use Trim IN Limit Bloks with the following kits). NOTE: Some ot onfigurtions my require tilt-limit spers to limit the totl upwrd trvel of the drive unit. Be sure to mke note of the numer of spers used when disssemling. 9. Remove smll O-ring from end of piston rod. - Smll O-ring - Piston Rod 22132 Ressemly 10. Clen ll prts in solvent. Be sure ll prts re dry efore ressemly. IMPORTANT: Lter model Alph One drive units use trim ylinder tht is 3/4 in. (19mm) longer, to hieve 6 dditionl tilt. Erlier model R, MR, nd Alph One, s well s Brvo drive units, use the shorter trim ylinder. DO NOT ttempt to sustitute trim ylinders or dmge to drive unit nd/or trnsom ssemly ould result. Trim ylinders n e identified y sting numer on inord side of trim ylinder. Shorter Cylinder: 98703, 98704 98703--1, 98704--1 Longer Cylinder: 14034--1, 14035--1 CAUTION Ensure work re nd ll omponents re len efore ressemling trim ylinders. Power Trim omponents n eome dmged if dirt gets into system.

1. Instll smll O-ring into end of piston rod. - Smll O-ring - End of Piston Rod 22132 2. Instll smll O-rings nd ontinuity spring into end p. 3. Instll rod srper, plin wsher, nd retining ring into end p. 4. Instll lrge O-ring onto outside dimeter of end p. 5. 9. Instll shok piston, three hek lls, spring guide wsher, spring, spring guide, spring guide wsher nd olt onto piston rod. Torque to 15-20 l. ft. Power Trim omponents n eome dmged if dirt gets into system. NOTE: Before ressemly, lurite ll internl prts with Quiksilver Power Trim nd Steering Fluid or SAE 10W-30 or 10W-40 motor oil. CAUTION DO NOT lmp enter setion of trim ylinder during ressemly. If lmping of ylinder is neessry, lmp ylinder on front mounting flnge. CAUTION Use only 2-4-C Mrine Lurint with Teflon on end p threds. Apply 2-4-C Mrine Lurint with Teflon to end p threds nd instll piston rod ssemly into ylinder. - End Cp - Piston Rod - Cylinder 22133

13. Using Spnner Wrenh Tool P/N 91-821709, torque end p 40-50 l. ft. (55-68 N m). - Spnner Wrenh 14. If equipped, instll trim ylinder nodes. 71677 - Srews (2 Eh) - Anode (Eh Trim Cylinder) 15. Position trim ylinder rer onneting ends s shown. 71966 - Port Trim Cylinder - Strord Trim Cylinder - Conneting Ends (Angled s Shown) 22135

16. Instll Down trim hose. - Down Trim Hose - Clmping Plte - Srews 22130 Instlltion 17. Chek pinted res of trim ylinders for srthes tht expose metl, pint if neessry. CAUTION Use wter nd sop solution to id in instlling ruer ushings. The use of petroleum sed produt (oil or grese) n deteriorte ruer. NOTE: Refer to Speil Informtion t the front of this setion efore reinstlling trim ylinders. NOTE: The ushings on Lter Brvo drive units re mde from different type of mteril. The lter style is hrder. The ushing n lso e identified y smll indenttion on the outside fe of the ushing.
