Engineering Features Robust Components The Aerolume housing components are all constructed of durable corrosion resistant precise low copper aluminum castings with.188 minimum wall thickness. Prior to finishing, all castings are sand blasted to create a uniform and clean surface for paint adhesion. Air Flow Sealed Chamber HID Optics All HID reflectors are unitized assemblies including the sockets. The entire housing is sealed by the lens frame and gasket, thus making the optical system impervious to moisture and airborne contaminants. The reflector is rotatable in 90 deg. increments for field orientation if required. Optics Because thermal control is so critical to LED life expectancy and output, Optical Modules are sealed units that float within the housing. This allows natural air flow to enter the housing and flow around the LED Module heat sinks. (See Catalog for details and data). Unitized Electrical Module With all electrical components mounted on a plate, initial installation and future servicing becomes quick and simple. If desired, extra electrical modules can be kept on hand allowing immediate field replacement, while the old modules are repaired in the service area for future use. Down time is therefor minimal. Tool-less Latch Two-stage twist-to-release latch requires no tools for access to the lamp and electrical components. The initial twist of the latch relaxes pressure on the lens gasket. Continuing to twist the latch dis-engages the retainer clip and allows the lens frame to hinge down. Specifications HID Housing - Heavy cast low copper aluminum assembly (A6 alloy, <0.% copper AERM; A60 alloy, <0.4% copper AER and AER-G) with integral cooling ribs above the electrical compartment. Minimum wall thickness is.188". Housing attaches to pole via a one piece, extruded aluminum arm with centering guides for internal draw bolts and a gasketed wiring access door. Housing/pole junction is gasketed. All exposed hardware is stainless steel. Internal protected hardware is electro-zinc plated. Lens frame - One piece cast aluminum lens frame (A6 alloy; <0.% copper copper AERM; A60 alloy, <0.4% copper AER and AER-G) with integral stainless steel hinge. Tool-less twist to release latch provides positive locking and sealing of the optical chamber by a one piece silicone gasket with ends fused to form a continuous loop. Clear /16" thick tempered glass lens retained by stainless steel clips and sealed with self-leveling silicone bonding and sealing adhesive. Reflector Module - Specular Alzak optical segments rigidly mounted in an aluminum frame, which attaches to the housing as a one piece module. Reflector module is field rotatable in 90 increments. All sockets are porcelain 4KV pulse rated, pin-oriented mogul base (KV in 00HPS models). Reflector modules are factory prewired with a quick-disconnect plug. Electrical Components - All electrical components are UL and cul recognized mounted on a single plate and factory prewired with quick-disconnect plugs. Electrical module attaches to housing with no-tool hinges and latches, accessible by opening the lens frame. Electronic MH ballasts have power factor of >.9 (70W 10W) -0 F starting, -V; or >.90 (0W 400W), -0 F starting, 00-V, 0Hz/60Hz and have lamp End-of-life protection. 47V option utilizes a step down transformer to the electronic ballast. Special for Philips MasterColor CDM Elite: Electronic MH ballast has a power factor of >.90 (W & 1W), -4 F starting, 00 - V, 0Hz/60Hz and has lamp End-of-life protection. All higher wattage (1W 400W) electronic MH ballasts have 0 V dimming capability. Magnetic MH ballasts are high power factor (70W 10W, 7W) or CWA (0W - 00W, excluding 7W), -0 F starting, multi-tap -V or 480V, 60Hz. All HPS ballasts are core and coil, high-reactance, high power factor (70W 10W) or CWA (00W 00W), -40 F starting. Integrated clear tempered /16 glass lens sealed with a continuous silicone gasket protects emitters (LED's) and emitter Reflector-Prism optics, and seals the module from water intrusion and environmental contaminants. Entire module is IP67 rated. Emitters (LED's) are Luxeon Rebels, constant current type, Neutral White nominal 40K CCT for the entire module (Cool White nominal 600K are available). Each emitter is optically controlled by a Reflector-Prism injection molded from H1 acrylic ( types per module; one from 0-0 ; one from 0-6 ; one from 6-7 ). Each Reflector-Prism has indexing pins for aiming and is secured to an optical plate made of matte black anodized aluminum. The optical plate locates every Reflector-Prism over an emitter. Reflector-Prisms are secured to the optical plate with a UV curing adhesive. The Reflector-Prisms are arrayed to produce IES Type II, IES Type III, IES Type IV, and IES Type V-SQ distributions. The entire Optical Module is field rotatable in 90 increments. Both module and drivers are factory wired using water resistant, insulated cord. Lens, module and drivers are field replaceable. Driver drivers are UL and cul recognized mounted on a single plate and factory prewired.
