Introduction IMPORTANT: Read this instruction thoroughly and familiarize yourself with the tractor before installing mounting frames. NOTE: Go to mst.deere.com for estimated install/setup time. This instruction is for installing mounting frames on Compact Utility Tractors for a 300, 300X, 300CX, 400X or 400CX Loader. Engage tractor parking brake and/or place transmission in PARK. 3. Shut off tractor engine and remove key. 4. Relieve pressure in hydraulic system. (See tractor Operator s Manual.) 5. Remove Paint Before Welding or Heating Avoid potentially toxic fumes and dust. Hazardous fumes can be generated when paint is heated by welding, soldering, or using a torch. Remove paint before heating: Remove paint a minimum of 100 mm (4 in.) from area to be affected by heating. If paint cannot be removed, wear an approved respirator before heating or welding. If you sand or grind paint, avoid breathing the dust. Wear an approved respirator. If you use solvent or paint stripper, remove stripper with soap and water before welding. Remove solvent or paint stripper containers and other flammable material from area. Allow fumes to disperse at least 15 minutes before welding or heating. TS220 UN 23AUG88 Do not use a chlorinated solvent in areas where welding will take place. Do all work in an area that is well ventilated to carry toxic fumes and dust away. Install Mounting Frames Open Station Tractor 1. 1 3203 and 4105 Tractors (Right-Hand Side): Remove and save two cap screws from hydraulic coupler bracket (A). 4500, 4510, 4600, 4610, 4700, 4710, 4120, 4320, 4520 and 4720 Tractors (Right-Hand Side): Remove and discard mounting hardware and spacers from hydraulic coupler bracket (A), if equipped. Remove paint from all mounting frame-to-tractor frame contact surfaces. (Refer to REMOVE PAINT BEFORE WELDING OR HEATING in this Instruction.) IMPORTANT: 400X and 400CX: Notch (E) should face toward front of tractor. 3. Position mounting frames (B) with pin (C) angled forward, as shown. 4. 4500, 4510, 4600, 4610, 4700, 4710, 4120, 4320, 4520 and 4720 Tractors (Right-Hand Side): Place hydraulic coupler bracket (D), if equipped, over mounting frame as shown. 4105 Tractor W08895 UN 13AUG07 NOTE: Tightening sequence is the same for all tractors. 5. Fasten mounting frames using four M16 x 40 cap screws (A). Tighten mounting hardware to specification in sequence shown. Remove paint from all mounting frame-to-tractor frame contact surfaces. (Refer to REMOVE PAINT BEFORE WELDING OR HEATING in this Instruction.) IMPORTANT: Mounting frame must be positioned with pin (D) angled toward front of tractor. Install cap screws and flange nuts (A) with flange nuts facing out. Fasten mounting frames using four M16 x 50 cap screws and flange nuts (A), with flange nuts facing out. Tighten mounting hardware to specification in sequence shown.
