Carefully read the specifications below to determine if you are installing a qualifying product(s). All installations must be new or retrofit and replace a previously installed product unless otherwise noted. Where applicable, refer to and follow the General Requirements section listed below. You must attach the manufacturer's specification sheet to each application documenting the characteristics of lamps, ballasts and fixtures. General Requirements Customers must have a Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) commercial electric account. Everything must be installed and operational before a rebate application is submitted. All new lighting fixtures, retrofit kits, and components must carry the appropriate, designated Underwriters Laboratory (UL) or ETL Label. All installations must be installed in accordance with all applicable local, state and national codes and ordinances. In all cases, the wattage of the replacement fixture must be less than the wattage of the existing lamp. The maximum replacement fixture wattage listed in the table for each category is typically associated with the highest lamp wattage in that particular range. Fixtures Compact Fluorescent Fixtures Only complete, new compact fluorescent fixtures qualify. New fixtures must not exceed the maximum New Fixture listed in Table 1 for each range of lamp wattage being replaced. New fixture wattage is the total system wattage (Lamp and Ballast). Ballasts must have a power factor greater than or equal to 0.9. s are based on a one-for-one replacement of incandescent or high intensity discharge (HID) fixtures including, mercury vapor, high pressure sodium, and standard metal halide or pulse start metal halide. Existing lamp wattage is used rather than total fixture wattage (i.e. a 250 Watt high pressure sodium fixture is a 250 Watt base case and qualifies under the L1022 rebate code). Any wattage incandescent lamp; Slimline T12, T12 High Output (HO) or T12 Very High Output (VHO) fluorescent lamps 60 Watts may be replaced by complete new compact florescent fixtures. To calculate the base case wattage for incandescent and fluorescent fixtures with more than one lamp, multiply the number of lamps by the nominal lamp wattage as listed on lamp label. Example calculation: 8 foot T12 HO Energy Saver lamps are typically 95 Watts each. A two lamp base case fixture equals 2 x 95 = 190 Watts and qualifies under the L1022 rebate code. In all cases, the wattage of the replacement fixture must be less than the wattage of the existing lamp. New exterior installations qualify if existing lamps are less than or equal to 100 Watts. May qualify for an additional control(s) rebate through the "Occupancy Sensor" and/or "Exterior Photocells" category, provided all requirements are met. Example calculation: Compact Fluorescent fixtures plus Integrated Fixture Sensor (rebate code L1014 $75.00 and L1037 $40.00) $75.00 + $40.00 = $115.00 total. Other fixture configurations and exterior application >100 Watts will be considered under our Customized Retrofit Incentive program. Exterior installations and applications are typically operating during non-peak hours and therefore do not qualify under this interior fixture category. All 32 Watt T8 lamps must be HP T8 or Super T8 lamps and listed on the qualified HP T8 lamp list at www.cee1.org/com/com-lt/lamps-ballasts.xls. All lamps must be rated 20,000 hours average rated lamp life based on 3 hours per start when operated on a Program Start Ballasts. T5 HO and T8 VHO lamps must have Color Rendering Index (CRI) that is equal to or greater than 82. All T8 ballasts must be NEMA premium or designated HP electronic ballast listed on www.cee1.org/com/com-lt/lamps-ballasts.xls., T5 HO and T8 VHO must be Program Rapid Start ballasts. Existing fluorescent lamps < 60 Watts, being replaced by a new fixture, must use the High Performance T8 or T5 Linear Fluorescent Lamps with Electronic Ballasts category (L1019 or L1020). Exterior installations do not qualify. Not eligible for additional rebates under the Compact Fluorescent Fixtures and High Performance T8 or T5 Linear Fluorescent Lamps with Electronic Ballasts categories. Fixtures, continued Bi-Level Stairwell/Hall/Garage Fixtures Only complete, new fluorescent fixtures with program start electronic ballasts and lamps that meet requirements listed in Table 8 in the High Performance T8 or T5 Fluorescent Lamps with Electronic Ballasts category qualify. Qualifying fixtures must be manufactured with fixture integrated occupancy sensors that control the individual fixture and meet UL requirements. All lamps must be pin-based fluorescent or other permanent installed technology. Must include a passive infrared and/or ultrasonic occupancy sensor with a fail safe feature in case lamp fails due to a sensor failure. The fixture must operate in low-standby light level during vacancy and switch to full light output upon occupancy. The fixture cannot exceed 35% of full wattage during unoccupied periods. Fixtures whose settings can be overridden are not eligible. Screw-in lamps are not eligible. Not eligible for additional rebates through the Occupancy Sensors or High Performance T8 or T5 Linear Fluorescent Lamps with Electronic Ballasts categories. Lamp (High Performance T8 and T5) 2 foot, 3 foot and 8 foot T8 and T5 replacement lamps must meet the Color Rendering Index (CRI) and Minimum Rated Lamp Life standards listed in Table 8. 4 foot T8 lamps must be listed as HP T8, 3rd Generation T8 or Super T8 s and listed at www.cee1.org/com/com-lt/lamps-ballasts.xls. Example A: Retrofit a 4 foot T12 4-lamp fixture with a 4 foot T8 4-lamp (lamp and ballast) with 28W T8 lamps. equals the T12 to T8 lamp and ballast retrofit rebate of $5.50 (L1019) per lamp, plus the Low T8 of $1.00 (L730) per lamp for a total of $26.00. Example B: Replace a 4 foot T8 32 Watt lamp only with a 25 Watt T8 lamp. equals $1.50 (L863) per lamp. De-Lamping The total number of lamps claimed for de-lamping cannot be more than the number of replacement T8 or T5 lamps installed. Customers must not remove more than half of the existing lamps, ballasts and lamp holders from each fixture/system. Customers are responsible for deciding whether de-lamping will maintain adequate light levels. Replacement lamps rebated in this category are not eligible for additional rebates through the Interior Linear Fluorescent Fixtures category. Additional Details: Low T8 lamps are best used to replace First Generation 700 series 32 Watt T8 lamps in existing lighting systems. Care should be taken to read manufacturer recommendations for ballast requirement and use in low temperature. Accent/Directional Lighting Cold Cathode Lamps Must replace incandescent lamps that are greater than or equal to 10 Watts. Must have a level between 2 and 8 Watts and can be a screw-in lamp with either medium Edison or candelabra base. Integrated Ballast Ceramic Metal Halide (CMH) PAR Lamps Only less than or equal to 25 Watts, integrated ballast, Ceramic Metal Halide PAR lamps with a rated lamp life of 12,000 hours or greater. Must be rated for at least 18,000 average life hours. Controls Occupancy Sensors Only hardwired passive infrared and/or ultrasonic detectors that control interior lighting fixtures are eligible. Controlled wattage requirements, where applicable, are listed in Table 17. Sensors for exterior installations do not qualify. Application Process: Please be sure that the product qualifies under this category and not under the Bi-Level Stairwell/Hall/Garage Fixture category. New fixtures equipped with fixture-integrated sensors used in stairwells, halls, or garages sometimes qualify through the Bi-Level Stairwell/Hall/Garage Fixtures category and not the Occupancy Sensor category depending on specifications. Additional Details: When used in conjunction with both T8 and T5 lamps, Program-Start ballasts are designed to provide maximum lamp life in frequent lamp starting applications such as in areas where occupancy sensor controls are used. Section 8 - Terms and Conditions 1. To be eligible for a rebate I understand that I must be a customer of Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) with an active meter serviced by PG&E. I understand that if I am installing products at more than one facility, I must identify each individual address and Service ID # on the " Product Information" section. All uses herein of the words "install," "installation," or similar phrases shall mean complete installation such that the subject products are fully functional and operational. 2. As a business customer, I agree to provide PG&E with 100% of the energy savings for the rated life of the product(s) or for a period of five (5) years from receipt of rebate, whichever is less. If I do not provide the energy savings or if I cease to be a customer of PG&E during the 5 years, I shall refund a prorated amount of rebate dollars based on the time installed. 3.
