I have arranged for someone to run a tractor over a majority of the field to knock down all the weeds. After that is done we will be spraying the field to try an eradicate as much growth as possible. As most of you are aware the Gilman Springs Flyers have received notice to vacate their flying site. We have extended an invitation to all current members of Gilman that they can fly at our sites until June 30, 2017 at no charge, which is when their membership expires. Any one wanting to remain as a member of HMM will be required to pay the initiation fee plus $30.00 which will cover them until Dec 31, 2017, at which time they will pay the regular membership renewal fee of $60.00 per year. This is an example as to what is happening all over the country. We are losing places to fly and that is the reason we must be financially stable in case we need to relocate sometime in the future. We will be adding some events in the future to make the club more pro-active in the community. Reminder: Please last one out at the fields, lock the gates. HEMET MODEL MASTERS BOARD MEETING Minutes for January 2, 2017 Meeting called to order by President Mario Muniz at 6:56 pm. Board members present; Mario Muniz, Richard Lawrence, Stewart Robinson, Jeff Barker, Lawrence Vasquez, Eddie James and Scott Boersma. Jeff Barker informed us that the Lakeview/Davis field weeds were knocked down by the County of Riverside. The new tables have been installed at the flying site. Since there is nowhere to stuff trash anymore perhaps those who fly there will take it home with them. Discussion about the main field and the wild growth going on due to all the water is an issue that needs to be addressed. We will find someone to help with the cutting. Mario will talk to the neighbors to see if they can provide any assistance. The Fun Fly was moved to May 20,2017. We will have some fun events for the club members to participate in, more info will be provided in the coming days. The Hemet Model Masters will be having a Warbird Event on June 24, 2017. Pilots fee will be $30.00, with $10.00 of the $30.00 going into a pot for the cash awards to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place pilots. President Mario Muniz will be the CD and secure a sanction for the event. The Board has discussed the purchase of a sprayer that can be towed behind the tractor. Once the weeds are knocked down and the field gets dragged or tilled, we will be spraying to eliminate future growth. We will maintain a perimeter around the runway for aircraft runoffs. Club Charter has been renewed and Insurance Policies have been issued to all involved parties. Stewart Robinson will be sending payment to Riverside County for the Lakeview/Davis Flying site in the coming weeks. Meeting adjourned at 8:30 PM Members Present 7 Minutes submitted by Richard Lawrence
