2. Installation Prepare the following tools before installation: two screw wrenches, one set of inner hexagon wrenches, one set of box end wrenches, one plier, one set of screwdrivers and one digital multimeter (for testing voltage). 2.1 Unpacking Unpack according to the instructions on the package. Remove the packing materials and inspect the machine for possible damage or loss of accessories during transportation. Remove the cabinet, column, swing arm and accessory box fitted on the bottom plate and keep them in safety place. Keep the packing materials out the reach of children. Handle in an appropriate way if the packing materials are likely to cause pollution. Caution: The special anti-rust oil applied on the delicate parts may attract dust. Clean in when necessary. 2.2 Transportation Transport with fork lift. Avoid the column and swing arm moving to improper places during transportation. Avoid the excessive tilting in transportation. Drive the fork lift carrying the equipment slowly. Try to keep the machine at the lowest position and make sure it won t overturn in transportation. 2.3 Placing Installation should be in accordance with safety regulations. Install the machine in proximity of power source and air compressed system. Install the machine on level concrete ground. 4 sets of M10*150 anchor bolts are used to fasten the machine onto the ground to avoid vibration and noise. Set enough place (at least 1m in front and on both sides of the machine and 0.5m behind it) for operation and maintenance of the machine. A protective shelter should be built in the case it has to be installed outdoor. Do not operate machine in proximity of flammable gas. Note: For safety and proper operation, keep the machine at least 0.5m away from the wall. 2.4 Column As shown in Fig2.1, the column is connected with the cabinet body through hexagon socket head bolts and washers. 2.5 Swing arm As shown in Fig2.2, the swing arm is connected with the column through one bolt, the two ends of the bolt is locked by one big washer and some cir-clips. 2

Hexagon socket head screws 4 Bolt Cir-clip Washer Washers 8 Fig2.1 Fig2.2 2.6 Return spring As shown in Fig2.3, before installation you should remove the cap after unscrew the screw on the cap, and install the return spring on the hexagon column, and then assemble the cap back and tighten the screw. Cap Screw Return spring 2.7 Splitter Fig2.3 First install the splitter arm. The splitter arm and the cabinet body is connected through a bolt, both ends of the bolt are locked by cir-clip and washer (Fig2.4). Then put the splitter arm passing through the piston rod at one side of the cabinet body and lock the nut (Fig2.5). Fix the return spring well at last. Cir-clip Piston rod Bolt Return spring Nut Fig2.4 Fig2.5 3

2.8 Power and Air Connections Check the power source and the compressed air system are in accordance with the specifications on nameplate. Any electrical connection should be done by professionally trained technician. The power socket should be nearby for convenient operation, at the height of 0.6~1.7m. A voltage stabilizer should be applied to connect power source and the machine in the case of unstable voltage. The machine should be well grounded. 3. Adjusting 3.1 Pedal adjustment Note: The four pedals must be kept at the original position. Press down the pedal to turn the turntable clockwise; Lift the pedal to turn the turntable counter-clockwise; Press down pedal to open splitter; release it to restore; Press down pedal to open the jaws on the turntable; pedal again to move them inward; 3.2 Clamping Unit of the Jaws The position of the jaw on the turntable is controlled by the movement of the piston rod, which in turn is controlled by pedal. There are three levels for pedal. When pedal is placed on high, the piston rod will move inward and pull the jaws moving inward until the minimum. When pedal is placed on low, the piston rod will move outward and pull the jaws moving outward until the maximum 3.3 Splitter The splitter is on the right side of the cabinet. As the procedure requires, press down pedal to start the splitter cylinder, the piston rod will pull the splitter towards the cabinet, with magnitude around 14075N. Release pedal, the splitter will retract. The splitter is able to swing within a certain range. In case the range of swing is not appropriate, adjust the nut (Fig3.1) at the right end of the piston rod. Fig3.1 3.4 Air Pressure Regulator, Gauge and Lubricator Assembly As shown in Fig3.2, there is a button on the regulator. When pulled up, the pressure can be increased or decreased by turn it clockwise or counter-clockwise. After adjusting the operation pressure, press the button down to lock it. The air cleaner works to filter the water and impurity in the compressed air. When water and impurities run beyond 4

the red line, turn open the draining valve to release them. The lubricator is used to add a certain amount of lubricant into gas for the moving parts in the cylinder and regulator. Depress pedal or 3~5 times, a drop of lubricant will fall into the cup in the regulator. If it does not happen, the adjusting screw needs to be adjusted. Fig3.2 3.5 Mount/Demount Head Checking 1) Mount a 13 inch diameter aluminum alloy rim (preferably new) onto the turntable. 2) Lower the mount / demount head onto the rim and lock. 3) By means of the appropriate gauge kit, check measurements as indicated in Fig.33 (for mount/demount head with roller) and Fig.34 (mount /demount head with insert). Fig3.3 Fig3.4 5

Calibration 1) Loosen all screws securing the mount / demount head. 2) Lower the mount / demount head onto the rim and lock. 3) Finger-tighten screws A3-A4 (Fig3.7 and Fig3.8) in order to turn the mount / demount head and obtain the correct position. 4) Tighten screws A1-A2 (Fig3.5, 3.9 mount/demount head with roller; Fig3.6, 3.10 mount / demount head with insert) to tilt the mount / demount head and obtain the correct position and then finger-tighten screw B. 5) Unlock and raise the hexagonal column, then lower it onto the rim and lock again. 6) First tighten screws A1-A2-A3-A4 in torque of 50Nm and check by means of gauges that the measurements remain the same. 7) Lastly, tighten screw B to a torque of 50Nm and carry out checks once again with the gauges. Fig3.5 Fig3.6 Fig3.7 Fig3.8 Fig3.9 Fig3.10 6

4. Maintenance Note: Maintenance can be carried out only by the specialized technician. Before any maintenance is performed, disconnect the power and keep the plug within the sight of the maintenance personnel, and shut off compressed air, push the air valve switch to Off position and depress pedal 15 for 3 or 4 times to bleed the residual compressed air in the machine. To keep the tire changer in good condition and to prolong the work life, it is necessary to do regular maintenance according to the instructions on the User s Manual. Otherwise, the normal operation and reliability of the machine will be affected, or personal injury would be caused. Keep the machine and working area clean and prevent dust or foreign matter from entering the moving parts. Keep the hexagonal column clean and dry (clean with diesel as shown in Fig4.1). Keep the swing arm clean and lubricate it periodically so that it can move expectably. Weekly clean the turntable, jaws, guide ways (Fig4.2); clean and lubricate the column. Weekly lubricate the faying surface between moving parts and rubbing surface with lithium lubricant. Check the oil level in the sprayer regularly. If the oil level does not reach the second line, fill SAE20 (Fig4.3). Clear away the condensed material in the water separator around the sprayer regularly. Regularly check and adjust the tension of the belt. Check all connecting parts and bolts regularly and tighten them if necessary. Regularly check and adjust the hexagonal column to keep the proper distance between the inside of the mount/demount head and the rim. Note: About 15 days after starting to use the equipment, fasten the jaws and positioning bolts A (Fig4.4). Fig4.1 Fig4.2 Fig4.3 Fig4.4 7
