President s Message Good Day All, WOW, what an eclipse event just happened. Several club members and their life partners attended the grand eclipse earlier this week. What an experience to share with friends. I wish to thank Don and Donna for hosting this event at their home. Thank you for allowing our group to invade your home. The snacks and Bar-B-Q was all good. I cannot wait for the next one to come by. Good Times was had by all. Dave Smith had some dentil work done recently and is recovering at this time and seems he is in good spirits as Dave is always in good spirits. Dave is always Dave correct? The Memories on Main Street was a success again of course with all those who volunteered to make this event another successful event. We had 280 cars register as we were busting at the seams to find parking places. The judges had to locate all these cars to judge at every corner we parked these cars. Perfect weather on this day and that is why the largest turnout we have ever had. Again Dan and Linda Breen supplied the volunteers with Stephenina's lunch and dinner after the show as in years past. Thank you, Linda and Dan, for your support in feeding our large group. I want to thank all those who took the day to be sure our show event went well with their time and talents as all went very well. The club has received payment from Troy and all is good. I had a meeting after the event and they are satisfied with us and want us to do the event next year again. I have requested that we move the show back a week as most of the membership will be attending the OCA Nationals on the first Saturday of August for 2018. The Chamber of Commerce needs to go through the motions of asking the board to move the 2018 car show. THANK YOU ALL who volunteered to work this event. Without you we could not accomplish this for the club success each year. The check received from this one day helps YOUR car club run smoothly most of the year, EACH year so a Big Thanks to those who were there. Upcoming events you should consider. Contact your fellow members and see who's attending these events upcoming. Saturday September 16th Rods on the River Car Show located at Polstar Marina 6171 Hwy V St. Charles 63301. This is a good event to consider. A nice venue! President s message continued next page 2
