Kevin Beutelmann was assigned to lead the program. At the June meeting, He will ask for volunteers to help develop the program. The initial meeting will commence immediately following the June Archway meeting to meet and greet the volunteers, confirm a meeting time and set a schedule or deadline for milestones and the program. The intent is to meet for 15 minutes at this initial program meeting. Consider joining this team and recognizing the club members who spend their time and sometimes money for the betterment of the club and Oldsmobile. HOLIDAY BRUNCH Be prepared to discuss the 2017 Holiday Brunch at the next meeting. We will want to lock down as many details as possible so that we can book the best possible option for the 2 nd Sunday in December. We have visited a number of great establishments in the last 5 years. It is always challenging to find an establishment with good food and good prices. There is no way to find an ideally located establishment when our club members are from all corners of the St. Louis metro area. Please come to the meeting to make your voice heard! Another item to discuss is a secret Santa type gift program for this year s holiday brunch. Should the club provide attendance gifts or not at the brunch? We look forward to seeing you at the June meeting and to having a great discussion! 1

President s Message Good Day folks, Hope you all are doing well. This is the last call for the 25th anniversary of the R.E. Olds Chapter Oldsmobile Homecoming Car Show and Swap Meet. Friday June 16th is a cruise night the Saturday 17th is the big day in Lansing Michigan. Many club members will be attending this year. For more information www.reolds.com At our last meeting we had brought up as in years past to place a half color page advertisement in the 2017 OCA National meet Program Booklet. Discussion was held, motion made, second and passed that we place a half page into this year s 2017 OCA program booklet. Big thanks go to Shannon Olson for designing that half page poster of congratulations to the New Mexico members for a successful national event. When you see Shannon next time please let her we appreciate all she does for our club. While we are discussing Shannon please keep her in your prayers as she is going through some health issues at this time. We all need for her to get better. Keep her in your thoughts and prayers please. Our main discussion at our June monthly club meeting will be the 2017 Christmas Party for the club. Think about where the club has been and where you would like the next Christmas party location. We can go to a new location that you have experienced or one of the past locations. We need to discuss location and if the members want to have a gift exchange or just enjoy each other s company and the meal without attendance gifts? Here is your invitation to discuss your favorite place to have a brunch on a second Sunday in December. Please think about this subject discuss with your partner and bring these suggestions to our next meeting. The club needs to get this date locked in soon. Please participate. We have the 2017 Troy Car Show fliers to be handed out at the next meeting. Please keep your calendars open for the 2017 Troy Car Show being held on Saturday August 5th. We will need everyone from the club to work this day from early morning till 4:00 PM. Location is main street downtown Troy Missouri. Thank you. 2017 Kirkwood Route 66 Festival: Cars and Guitars event has been approved by Kirkwood. For those who signed up keep Saturday June 10th mid afternoon open as we will be escorted in Downtown Kirkwood to our club display area. Live music all afternoon and evening, food and drink in downtown Kirkwood. I will contact all as I get more instruction from executive director Donna Poe. Club member Homer Walker is looking for a member who would like to share a room at the 2017 OCA Nationals. If interested please contact Homer at 1-417-425-6595 or snowolds@yahoo.com The 1949 / 59 Ford/Mercury Association Club will be hosting a national event on June 22nd, 223rd, and 24th at Double Tree Hotel in Westport. I hope I have not forgotten anything at this moment. If I have come to the next club meeting and let me know. I am looking forward seeing you all out there. Gene 2

MAY 2017 MEETING MINUTES President Gene Bossaller called the May 2017 Archway Olds Meeting to order 7:18 pm at the Sports Café in Bridgeton, May 9 th, 2017. No guests were present at the meeting. Changes to the April Minutes-New Members name is Shawn Jeffries, not Shawn Jetters. President Bossaller discussed the location, Wichita, for 2019 Olds Nationals, not Jerry Wilson. Add Louise Smith s Birthday into the newsletter. With these changes, Ed Davis motioned to approve minutes. Rich Carlson seconded the motion. New Acquisitions-Steve and Mary Wilson acquired a red, white topped with Charcoal leather interior 1995 Cutlass Convertible, the last year the Cutlass convertible was made. President Bossaller asked that members keep Shannon Olson in their prayers. She is experiencing some health problems. May Birthdays were announced. OLD BUSINESS Saturday May 6th was the Frisco Hill Auto Body cruise and display. There were 70 cars and 150 people there. Our club had the largest attendance. There were shop tours and saw lots of neat different cars: 63 Rambler, 62 Grand Prix, and 50 Lincoln. Gene Bossaller won a rotary buffer attendance prize. NEW BUSINESS We have 12 cars signed up for the Kirkwood Route 66 Festival. Date is Saturday June 10th and you should be there at 3:30 pm to get parked. If you cannot make it, please let someone go in your place. The 25th Annual Oldsmobile Homecoming Car and Swap Meet is Saturday June 17th in Lansing, Michigan. By show of hands, 15 members plan to attend. President Bossaller discussed purchasing a half-page advertisement in the 2017 Olds Nationals program. Fred Hutchison made motion to use the draft presented by President Bossaller. Kevin Beutelman seconded the motion. Motion carried. All members have the opportunity to be included in the 2017 National Meet Program Photo Display. President Bossaller has forms or you can find a form in the monthly issues of JWO magazine. Annual Horseless Carriage Club Easter Car Show was April 16th. There were a lot of neat cars. Archway Olds had a good showing. OCA UPDATE o Jerry Wilson reported the OCA is working on plans for the 2019 National Show. Wichita, KS has potential indoor venue, but would need to reorganize the Sunflower Olds Chapter in Wichita. Would also need Oklahoma Olds Club and volunteers from the Archway Olds chapter. The Board has received positive feedback from Oklahoma club. The potential venue is on the Arkansas River and has space inside for 450 cars. There is some space on the mezzanine level for swap meet; however, there will be both inside and outside spaces for the swap meet. 3

They have identified five hotels on the route where group rates can be acquired. The hotels are in St. Louis, Joplin, Oklahoma City, Amarillo and Tucumcary NM. This would allow for Oldsmobile owners to get together and socialize along the way on the trip, but visit places and sites they want to see at their own leisure. There will be articles in the JWO about Route 66 and things to see. CLUB EVENTS: o President Bossaller reminded everyone to think about the club Christmas party. He mentioned we could go back to Andrea s, Salo s (where we had the 2015 gathering), or try somewhere new. He d like to keep the date the second Sunday in December (10th). We need someone to organize. We also need to decide if we have a gift exchange, attendance prizes, and breakfast or lunch. It is getting too expensive to include both breakfast and lunch options on the menu. President Bossaller tabled the discussion until the June meeting.
