The spacing between the ends of the side rails and the top and bottom rungs or steps was changed from shall not exceed 300 mm (12 in) to shall not exceed 305 mm (12 in) 5.6 Hardware Clause 5.6 changed sharp projections in excess of 0.5 mm to sharp projections in excess of 0.4 mm. 6.1 Single and extension 6.2 Step and Tri-pod 6.3 Trestle and extension trestle 6.1.1 Single ladder length Clause 6.1.1.2 Changed the maximum length requirement for Grade 1AA from 5m to 9m, Grade 2 from 7.5m to 7.3m and Grade 3 from 5m to 4.9m. 6.1.2 Extension ladder length Clause 6.1.2.2 changed the maximum length requirement for Grade 1AA three section extension ladder from 11m to 22m, Grade 1AA two section extension ladder from9.5m to 18m, Grade 3 two section extension ladder from 9.5m to 9.7m. 6.1.4 Single ladder width The minimum clear width between side rails was changed from shall be not less than 300 mm to shall be not less than 305 mm 6.1.5 Extension ladder width The minimum clear width between side rails of the fly section was changed from shall be not less than 300 mm (12 in) to shall be not less than 305 mm (12 in) 6.1.6 Step and rung spacing The spacing between adjacent ladder rungs or steps was changed from 300mm to 305mm Clause 6.2.1.2 changed the maximum ladder length requirement for Grade 1AA step ladder from 3.6m to 6m. Clause 6.2.3 Step clear width and flare: - The minimum clear width between the side rails was changed from 300mm to 305mm. - Clause 6.2.3 was also modified to clarify that the minimum clear width between the side rails 305mm is required at any step location. Clause 6.2.4 Step spacing between the adjacent steps, changed the spacing between adjacent steps from 300mm (12 in) to 305 mm (12 in). Clause 6.2 added a Clause 6.2.10 Step spacing to specify the spacing between the ends of the side rails and the top and bottom rungs or steps for step ladder and tripod. 6.3.3 Width and flare The minimum clear width between side rails of the trestle or extension section at any point was changed from 300mm to 305mm. The flare for a trestle ladder and an extension trestle ladder were separated. The flare requirement for a trestle ladder was changed from shall be not less than 1.25mm/10mm to shall be not less than 10mm/100mm. 6.3.4 Base spread added shall be locked in one position to clarify that the spread of a trestle ladder shall be locked in one position. 6.3.5 Step and rung spacing The spacing between adjacent ladder rungs or steps was changed from 300mm to 305 mm (12 in). 6.4 Step stools 6.4.3 Width and flare The minimum clear width between the side rails was changed from 300mm to 305mm. Clause 6.4.3 was also modified to clarify that the minimum clear width between the side rails 305mm is required at any step location. The minimum outside width at the top cap was changed from 300 mm to 305mm. 6.4.4 Step spacing The steps and top cap spacing was changed from 200 to 300mm to 205 to 305mm. 6.4.7 Top cap The requirement of the size of the top cap was changed from not less than 300 mm (12 in) wide and 130 mm (5.25 in) deep to not less than 305 mm (12 in) wide and 130 mm (5.25 in) deep. 6.5 Platform and small platform 6.6 Combination Clause 6.5.1.2 changed the maximum ladder length requirement for Grade 1AA platform ladder from 3m to 6m. 6.5.3 Width and flare 6.5.3.1 for regular platform - Clause 6.5.3.1 changed the minimum clear width between side rails at platform level from 350mm to 355mm for regular platform. - Clause 6.5.3.1 was also modified to clarify that minimum clear width between side rails at any step location shall be not less than 305 mm (12 in) 6.5.3.2 for small platform Clause 6.5.3.2 was modified to clarify that minimum clear width between side rails at any step location shall be not less than 305 mm (12 in) 6.5.4 Step and rung spacing changed the spacing between adjacent ladder rungs or steps from 300mm (12 in) to 305 mm (12 in) 6.6.2 Slope added a requirement for a combination ladder that can be used as a trestle ladder. When a combination ladder is used as a trestle ladder, the angle of inclination of both the front and back sections shall be not more than 75. 6.6.3 Width and flare The minimum clear width between the front side rails was changed from 300mm to 305mm. Clause 6.6.3 was also modified to clarify that the minimum clear width between the front side rails 305mm is required at any step location. The minimum clear width between side rails of the extension or single ladder section was changed from 300 mm to 305mm. 6.6.4 Steps and rungs The spacing between adjacent ladder rungs or steps was changed from 300mm to 305 mm. 6.7 Articulated and extendable 6.6.8 Stops Clause 6.6.8 replaced the maximum working lengths with the maximum extended lengths to clarify that combination shall be equipped in such a manner that the ladder, when used as extension, shall not exceed the maximum extended lengths specified by the manufacturer. In table 2, the deflection test load for Grade 1 ladder was changed from 115 kg to 113 kg. 7.1.2 Deflection and twist test Table 3 Maximum allowable deflections and angles of twist for horizontal bend test was changed. 7.1.7 Side-sway test - Table 4, Maximum allowable deflection for side-sway test were changed. The test section length (m), 2.5, 5.0, 6.0, 7.5 were changed to 2.4, 4.9, 6.1, 7.3. The maximum allowable deflection values for test section length over 4.9 meter were added. 7.1.9 Side rail cantilever dynamic drop test Clause 7.1.9 added a new performance requirement. 7.1.10 Foot slip limit Clause 7.1.9 added a new performance requirement. The title of Clause 7.2 added, and extendable 7.2.7 Torsional stability test 7.2.7.2 added a distance in excess of 25mm as a pass/fail criteria of relative movement for torsional stability test. 7.2.9 Side rail cantilever dynamic drop test Clause 7.2.9 added a new performance requirement. 7.2.10 Racking test The title of 7.2.10 was changed from step ladder racking test to racking test. 7.2.11 Foot slip limit Clause 7.1.11 added a new performance requirement. The load for Grade 1 ladder was changed from 180kg to 182kg. The load for Grade 2 ladder was changed from 135kg to 136kg. The load for Grade 3 ladder was changed from 90kg to 91kg.
