About AWV Marine Dampers At American Warming and Ventilating, we are committed to design innovation and superior product performance. We have maintained this commitment to our customers for over 100 years. Today, our dampers provide reliable operation in a variety of demanding industrial environments. Temperatures ranging from -40 F to 1800 F. Pressures to 5 p.s.i. Velocities to 10,000 FPM. Clean air to dirty and/or corrosive enviromments. In the marine industry, we have supplied our products to the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Coast Guard, Oil Rigs, and shipbuilders worldwide. For over 50 years, we have designed and manufactured marine dampers and louvers for use in emergency generator systems, air distribution and fire control, engine room ventilation, combustion air (boilers), nonmagnetic areas, airtight closures for toxic gas systems, and other related applications. In addition, we design many different damper types to meet the many different marine specifications: MIL-S-901C and MIL-S-901D TESTING To ensure continuous product development and performance, we operate our own AMCA* registered laboratory. Our facility is equipped to test differential pressures to 50 in. wg. and flow rates to 80,000 CFM. The face of the chambers can accommodate dampers to 8 foot square. Through the use of flexible ducting, we can test dampers and louvers larger than 8 foot wide or high. Other tests available to our customers include reverse bend fatigue, slam shut under maximum air flow and pressure drop, cycle, endurance, bubble tight leakage, decay leakage and a 600 F industrial walk-in oven for testing our combination Fire/Smoke and Leakage rated (Smoke only) to 350 F and Tunnel Dampers to 482 F. *(Approved for testing in accordance with AMCA Std. 500) high shock, U.S. Maritime Commission Standards S38-1-31 and 32, SOLAS, U.S. Coast Guard and ABS requirements. QUALITY ASSURANCE Our QA program can be applied to products in the form of final inspection or full documentation - from material certification, nondestructive testing of welding, to final assembly. It is structured to meet the AEC's 18-point criteria as stated in 10CFR50, Appendix B, ANSI 45.2, and ASME NQA-1for inspection and testing. Also, the program has met the standards of audit teams from leading engineering firms and nuclear utilities. At American Warming, we understand the requirements of the marine industry and have developed products to meet this rigorous environment. TESTS INCLUDE: Air Duct Erosion of Fiberglass-lined Duct. Bubble Tight Leakage. Cycle. Deflection. Differential Pressures to 50 in. wg. Endurance Limit and Fatigue. Flow rates to 80,000 CFM.
