2 1. Introduction AS SAMI wants to thank you for purchasing this attachment. We hope that you will be satisfied with our product. This product is a result of AS SAMI s long experience in the design and manufacturing of various attachments. We ask that you read and understand the contents of this manual completely before operating the attachment. This will improve operating and maintenance efficiency, help avoid breakdowns and damage and extend your machine s service life. Do not hesitate to contact us for advice regarding service, parts or any problems relating to the operation of your attachment. 2. Intended purpose and working principle SAMI scraper blade is designed for attaching to the rear three-point linkage of a tractor. The scraper blade is mainly designed for snow removal as well as for levelling of soil, cleanup work, etc. Depending on the model, the scraper blade comes with optional snow wings or side extensions to facilitate snow removal. Depending on the model, the angle of the boom and blade in relation to the tractor can be adjusted either hydraulically or manually. By adjusting the angle you can control how the blade ploughs the material. When you turn the blade, it leaves more material to the side which is tilted towards the tractor. Furthermore, the position of the scraper blade can be changed by adjusting the lifting arms and the top link. The attachment is operation by a lever of the singleaction lifting device. 3. Safety instructions Before using the attachment read the operator s manual of the tractor and of the attachment. Make sure that the attachment locking pins lock properly when coupling the attachment. Do not start operation if the attachment is not locked to the tractor. Start operation slowly and carefully. Always keep the attachment as low as possible to ensure maximum stability when operating. Before rotating the scraper blade make sure that there are no bystanders. Danger of crushing! Turn the blade of the scraper away from the tractor and place the boom in central position during driving. When driving take special care on turns to avoid the bale scraper blade hitting any obstacles. Never go under the attachment, because even with the engine not working the blade will be lowered down if the control lever of the lifting device is operated. Before using the blade read the tractor s safety instructions as well. Make sure that the hydraulic hoses are coupled correctly and do not leak.

4 5. Attachment of scraper blade and connection of hydraulic couplings Attach the scraper blade to the three-point linkage. Using the top link, adjust the scraper boom as parallel to the ground as possible. Connect the hydraulic hoses with the tractor s hydraulic system (hydraulic models). The scraper blade has two or four hydraulic quick couplings, which should be attached to the corresponding couplings of the tractor. The coupling of the hoses defines the turning direction when the auxiliary hydraulics control lever is moved. If you find the turning direction of the blade or the boom to be illogical when you move the auxiliary hydraulics control lever just change the coupling of the corresponding hoses. Check the functioning of the hydraulics before starting operation. If the hydraulics is inoperative, check the compatibility/connection of the quick couplings and the functioning of the tractor s hydraulic system. Make sure that the hydraulic hoses do not get overstretched in any position of the attachment and are not in a position where they can become entangled during the operation of the machine and the attachment. Always observe the safety instructions in paragraph 3 when coupling the attachment. 6. Operation Scraper blades with hydraulic movement enable adjustment of the slew angle of the blade and the lateral movement of the boom, depending on the model. Furthermore, the position of the scraper blade can be changed by adjusting the lifting arms and the top link. The attachment is operation by a lever of the single-action lifting device. The positions of hydraulic scrapers can be adjusted from the tractor s cab. The blade can be slewed as follows: 1. Turn the blade using the cylinder (if the output of the tractor's hydraulic pump is low, increase revolutions) until the cylinder is at its shortest. 2. Move the hydraulic valve control lever in middle position - now the blade crosses the so-called dead point. 3. Push the control lever to the opposite direction to continue the movement (turning) of the blade. WARNING!!! When driving backward with the tractor - the scraper blade being in pushing position (reversed) - the blade does not cross obstacles the way it does when driving forward. Support wheels (optional equipment) can be used for levelling work.
5 7. Maintenance During the period of active use of the scraper blade it must be visually inspected on daily basis. If any plays or deformations or hydraulic oil leaks are detected, the defects must be eliminated immediately. If the scraper blade has grease points, these must be greased once a week or as necessary during the period of active use. Lubricate the piston rods of hydraulic cylinders with a grease or anti-corrosion agent before putting the scraper out of service for longer periods. 8. Warranty terms AS SAMI guarantees a warranty period of twelve (12) months for the product as of the date of purchase. - Material and manufacturing defects that occur during the warranty period are covered by the warranty. - Repair work is compensated for only if the manufacturer itself does not carry out the repairs. - The manufacturer either repairs or replaces the defective parts. - The manufacturer will reimburse the cost of parts purchased by the client only if the manufacturer agreement to this. - Sub-contracted parts enjoy a warranty provided by their manufacturer. - Warranty service does not extend the warranty period. - Any damage caused by operation in a negligent manner or exceeding the approved specifications detailed in this manual is excluded.
