RISK ASSESSMENT INFORMATION Potential Hazard(s) Injury from contact with moving parts High Clear work area of all debris such as rocks, stones, sticks and other objects which may become projectiles Keep body parts away from blades and ensure all operators are wearing protective equipment such as boots, eye and ear protection. All users should familiarise themselves with the safe operation and emergency shutdown procedures of the equipment. Exclude non-essential persons from work area with a minimum exclusion zone of 6m from operating mower. Disengage blades if persons enter the exclusion zone. Inspect equipment before operation to ensure blade bolts and cutter assembly are firmly positioned. Avoid mowing on steep or uneven gradients. Stop the blades before moving across driveways, footpaths or roads. The mower is designed for one person use only. Never allow passengers to sit or ride on the mower. Ensure blades are idle before removing catcher (if equipped) or attempting maintenance. Do not use if under the influence of alcohol, drugs, medication or fatigue. Never leave running mower unattended. Shut down and remove key to avoid use by unauthorised persons. Crush Injury High Keep movements deliberate and steady. Do not make sudden changes in speed or direction. Do not mow on slopes greater than 15 degrees. Avoid mowing slopes in wet or slippery conditions. Do not mow near drop-offs or on unstable ground where a wheel could slip over the edge. Hand mow this area. Use a full width ramp when loading or unloading mower. Do not attempt to load or unload the mower on a ramp inclined to more than 15 degrees. Avoid sudden speed change or turning while on ramp. Page 2 of 5

Crush Injury (continued) Hearing Damage Keep ROPS (roll bar) fully raised and locked, and use seat belt while operating mower. Do not mow in reverse unless unavoidable. /High Hearing protection must be worn. Note warning label on unit. Explosion or fire from fuel vapours Stop engine before refuelling. Do not refuel while hot. Avoid spillage of fuel when refuelling. Ensure the fuel cap is properly secured after refuelling. Carry out visual checks for fuel leaks and repair before operation. Keep flammables away from the engine. Do not smoke while operating, servicing or refuelling this machine. Injury or ill health due to exposure to exhaust or fuel fumes Do not operate in confined space. Use in well ventilated area, preferably with fume extraction ventilation. Avoid breathing or coming into contact with fuel. Exposure to ultraviolet radiation if working outdoors Wear sunscreen, hat, long sleeves and long pants. Burn hazard /Low Wear protective clothing during operation. Avoid contact with hot components. Never operate the engine with heat shields removed. Manual handling hazard Take care when transporting. Due to the weight of the machine, lifting is not recommended. Page 3 of 5

KEY OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS PRIOR TO STARTUP 1. All users should familiarise themselves with safe operating procedures and emergency shut down procedures. 2. Adjust the operators seat so you can comfortably reach all of the controls and see the instrument and gauge panels. Move the lever forward to adjust seat forward or back. Release the lever to lock in place. STARTING THE ENGINE 1. Whilst sitting in the operators position, engage the park brake and make sure the PTO is disengaged and the motion control handless are locked in the NEUTRAL position. 2. Set the engine throttle control to FAST. 3. For cold start - close the choke by pulling the knob out firmly. 4. Turn the ignition key to START. 5. Once the engine starts, gradually open the choke (push knob down fully). 6. Warm engine for 1 minute. 7. Move the throttle to FULL before engaging the PTO switch or driving the machine. EMERGENCY STOP Turn ignition key to STOP Use this method IN EMERGENCY SITUATIONS ONLY. See STOPPING THE ENGINE for normal shutdown procedure. OPERATION 1. Disengage the parking brake and pivot the ground speed control levers inward. 2. Moving a lever forward increases the forward speed. Move the levers evenly forward to travel forward. To stop, return the levers to the neutral position. 3. Pulling lever back increases reverse speed. Always look BEHIND and DOWN before reversing. 4. Left lever controls the left rear drive wheel, the right lever controls the right rear drive wheel. 5. Familiarise yourself with the manoeuvrability of the mower before commencing mowing. 6. Set the mower cutting height. 7. Ensure the throttle is in FULL position and engage the PTO by pulling on the PTO switch. 8. Use care when approaching blind corners, shrubs, trees and other objects that may obscure vision. Page 4 of 5

Pivot the levers outward and lock them in NEUTRAL. 11. Disengage the PTO 12. Engage the parking brake 13.
