Magnificent exhibitions Among the highlights of TAPA 2010 are exhibitions to showcase the eco-friendly technology and the innovation. Product Showcase This exhibition featured the latest innovations in the industry, i.e. multi-purpose vehicle developed and designed by National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), and Model of the car from Thai Auto-Parts Manufacturers Association (TAPMA) that showed the parts and accessories inside, etc. Among the highlights of the Product Showcase was the agricultural truck model No.1, from the project called multipurpose truck development by Dr.Chatchai Jandenduang. This project is invented and developed under the Cluster and Program Management Project, of National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC), National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA). This agricultural truck model No. 1 was developed from the idea of the E-TAN truck for agricultural purpose. Ms.Saowaluck Tangwanichkapong, Business Analyst, National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC) said that: This is the first truck that MTEC has developed for the agriculturists to replace the use of E-TAN truck. With the welldesigned structure developed by the researcher and engineers, the MTEC agricultural truck is outranked the E-TAN truck in many ways, including the safety, and multi-purpose usage. It can be used as the school bus as the back seats are more suitable and safety for the transportation. Also, the engine in front of the car can be used for other purpose, such as the water pumping. In addition, this agricultural truck has more efficiency structure, better electric system and creates lower noise than the normal E- TAN truck. Even though this model is the first prototype, MTEC is certainly that the truck will developed and used countrywide in the near future. Post Show Report Eco-Friendly This exhibition showcased the energy saving and eco-friendly technology in automotive industry, i.e. Nissan Eco Car, Toyota Hybrid car and Isuzu new innovation, etc. Eco-Friendly exhibition got good feedback from the visitors as the eco car has 5 advantages, including: 1. Power-saving, with lower than 5 liters per 100 kilometers. 2. Environmental friendly, with the EURO 4 standard. 3. Low Carbon dioxide emission (less than 120 gram per kilometers) 4. Protection of the occupants in the event of a frontal and side collision that meet UNECE 94, 95 standards 5. The electric motor portion of the engine allows the gasoline engine to shut down at stops and even while moving under certain conditions, which can help save the energy consumption. Followed by Nissan March, the compact car that come with a new 1,200 CC, 3-cylinder engine. Nissan March achieve 20 of 20 kilometers per liter and emit less than 120g/km of CO2. This car also has the Idling Stop system that shut down the engine when you stop more than 7 seconds and automatically start the engine again in 2 seconds after you release the break, which help save the fuel consumption. In addition, almost 80 per cent of the auto parts are manufactured in Thailand. Last but not least, the ISUZU D-MAX X-Series, the lifestyle pickup that come with Diesel Super Common rail engine. This engine brings out the best of every terrain with best fuel efficiency ratings and Euro 3 emission standard and B5 biodiesel capability. The aerodynamic body is designed to support the energy saving.
