TECHNICAL BULLETIN Suspension of Objects from Hall Ceilings A supplement to our Technical Regulations Due to differences in the design and construction of hall and pavilion ceilings, a separate request and inspection is required before any object may be suspended from the support structures of these ceilings. No suspended objects are allowed in halls 8, 9, 18 and 26. Please submit inquiries regarding suspension points above your stand area as early as possible to our authorized service partners: Halls: Fa. Keil-Mahler GmbH 2-13 Tel.: +49 511 228807-0 Fax: +49 511 228807-4 info@keil-mahler.de Halls: Fa. UEBERKOPF GmbH 14 27 Tel.: +49 511 590974-19 PAV 32-35 Fax: +49 511 590974-29 dmag@ueberkopf.de For advice on feasibility and requesting the necessary suspension points, please send your planning documents with information on the objects to be suspended (point loads, locations, heights, etc.) to the above firm on time (no later than one day before the official start of stand setup). Please bear in mind that a late order surcharge of 100% will be billed for requests received on or after the official start of stand setup. Suspension of objects from roof support structures and alterations to such suspensions may only be performed by our authorized service partners. The handover point is the free end of the cable. Loads must always be connected to the cable vertically using the specified rope locks provided as loaned material. Applicable safety provisions must be observed in the assembly of the objects to be suspended, in particular BGV A1 (Fundamentals of Prevention), BGV C1 (Event and Production Halls for Scenic Presentation), BGV D8 (Winches, Lifting Devices and Tension Devices), BGI 810-3 (Safety for Productions and Events Loads Suspended above Persons), die BGR 198 (Use of Personal Protective Equipment against Falls from a Height), SQ P1 (Traverses), and SQ P2 (Electrical Chain Hoists). The following information regarding allowable and unallowable structures, lifting gear, suspension elements, load suspension equipment and connectors is intended as an overview and does not claim to be comprehensive. Structural considerations The object to be suspended must be located within the stand boundaries up to a maximum stand height of 6.50 m. Suspended objects may not be used to secure items exhibited on the floor of the stand or stand components. No oblique loads may be applied to the roof support structure. Lighting fixtures, monitors, loudspeakers, etc. must additionally be secured by a second, independent safety line. Electrical power may be supplied to suspended objects only from the stand connection. A separate supply of electrical power from the hall ceiling is not possible. allowed not allowed As of 09/2011 Page 1/5
