Sales of imported vehicles, mostly European luxury models, have risen by 25% over the past year 2) Cars that are merely imported are no longer unique in Korea. People want their one and only car Since cars that are merely imported are no longer unique items to express oneself, more and more automobile owners desire rarer and more distinct cars than others and become interested Table1. Imported car no. & rate in Korea in the automobile aftermarket to own their one and only car. In accordance with the increased need for tuner cars, Techart Korea for tune up Porsche was newly launched in Korea. Additionally, the group that launched Techart Korea had official launching shows for ABT, which is a tune up company for Audi and Volkswagen, and for BRABUS, which is for Mercedes Benz. Tuning brands for all four of these representative import cars have successfully settled down in Korea. The representative of the group who launched Techart Korea stated, We are targeting four times more revenue in five years following the development of the Korea automobile aftermarket. What s WAG THE DOGS? (1) What s you small but certain happiness (2) Added satisfaction to value for money (3) Generation Work-Life-Balanced (4) Technology of untact (5) Hide away in your querencia (6) Everything as a service (7) Days of cutocracy (8) One s true colors Meaning out (9) Gig-relationship, alt-family (10) Shouting out self-esteem 3) The 2018 consumer spending trend in Korea is: WAG THE DOGS Consumption patterns of Koreans have changed substantially. As an example, tuning a car is a current hobby for many Korean people. They enjoy making alterations to their vehicles and the feeling of driving something that they have effectively built to their own specifications. Some people take their tuned vehicles to 'track days' where they can test a vehicle s performance to the limit in a controlled environment, and later make changes to try and improve it further. (Minkyu Park, 2017, p. 1). Car owners in Korea tune their cars both on the outside and on the inside in order to improve their performance, increase their value, and find personal happiness. 4) The government has deregulated the automobile aftermarket The Korean government announced Automobile aftermarket facilitation and purposed to grow the aftermarket up to $400 million by 2020. With the deregulations, car owners can tune their cars legally and more easily. lv.
