Installation Guide WATER SUPPLY Connect the green 1/4" tubing to your water supply and insert the green tubing into the green port marked inlet. Important: When cutting tubing, make sure the cut is straight to insure a proper seal. A tube cutter tool is recommended (part #27002). DRAIN/BRINE Run the red and yellow 1/4" tubing from your drain supply to the AT 36-DC and insert the red tubing into the red port marked drain and the yellow tubing into the yellow port marked brine. If draining into a floor sink drain, a 5" inch air gap is required. Note: The air gap is required for sanitation reasons when draining into a floor sink drain. MIST BAR FEED LINE Install mist bar into display case using mounting clips. Run the 3/8" mist tube from the system to the far end of the mist bar run (see layout diagram). Starting from the far end, using the 1/4" tubing and 3/8" x 1/4" reducer (#17052) connect mist line to the mist bar elbow. Cut the 3/8" mist tubing in places next to each feed port on a bar. Then using the 3/8" x 1/4" x 3/8" tee (#17104) and 1/4" tubing, attach to every feed port on a mist bar run. Check for kinks in the line. Secure feed lines to the case using cable ties provided (#24078) and self-drilling #8 screws (#24001). Additional insulation might be needed if tubing is located inside the refrigerated case to avoid any freezing. TEST SYSTEM Turn on water supply. Turn on power switch. Turn the OFF time adjustment knob dial all the way up (see picture 2). Once the pump stops, the OFF dial can be turned down if product requires more moisture. The pump will turn OFF once the product pressure reaches about 125 psi and will turn back ON when the product pressure Picture 2 drops below 95 psi. Set the ON time dial pot, which is located on the Timer Module (#23181), to approximately 1/2 second. Watch the mist pulsate out of bar over the product displayed. Keep in mind this setting should be short bursts of highpressure atomized mist to avoid saturating the product with moisture. The OFF time duration should be set for a minimum 15-25 minutes (3-5 o clock position) depending on product and case environment. POWER SUPPLY Connect the low voltage power supply adapter from transformer in the female connector. Check the transformer input voltage tag located on the top of the transformer to make sure the appropriate step-down transformer matches the proper voltage supplied. Next, plug the transformer power cord into the power supply receptacle (100 V, 120 V or 230 V 50/60 Hz) (see picture 1). Picture 1 Warning: AT 36-DC unit is operating under 24 Volt DC, therefore only Miatech DC transformer should be used. 3 MIATECH TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONS Atomizer 36-DC User Guide Installation Guide SEP 23, 2015

Maintenance Guide Maintenance Requirements 1. Prefilter and membrane should be replaced at the same time once a year. 2. Nozzles should be wiped down when case is cleaned. 3. Gauges should be checked for adequate inlet and product pressure. 4. Unit should be inspected for leaks. 5. TDS reading should be taken to ensure it does not exceed 50 % of the inlet water reading. 6. If more or less moisture is desired, remember that only small changes make a big impact and may take a day before fully realized. Typically settings are on for about 5 seconds for about every 20 minutes of OFF time. 1 Troubleshooting Problem Some tips are dripping after mist. Most of the tips are dripping after mist. Solenoid Valve is buzzing or skipping mist cycles. Timing for mist times is inconsistent. Solution Replace tips with new ones. Bad ball checks. This suggests purge valve is not opening or a line restriction exist. Verify that no tubing is kinked between the system and bar, along with no kinks in the red tubing. Check red Drain/Purge line to verify water is dumping to release pressure in the mist bar after each mist cycle. Adjust the Purge Valve ON time to at least 2 seconds to see if the issue is resolved. Check to see if valve is getting an electric pulse after mist cycle. If not check wiring connections or replace timing module. If a 24 V pulse exists then purge valve will need to be replaced. If water is exiting the red line after each mist then a line restriction must exist. This will sometimes cause a slow ON for mist as well. This could be caused by feed ports on mist bar being over tightened, potentially cutting off the water supply to the bar. In this case the solenoid valve may need to be replaced. First check to see if the valve is receiving approximately 24 V signal from the timer during the mist cycle, if not the timer should be replaced. Replace timing module. In rare cases it may require the replacement of the dial pot for OFF time. 2 3 4 5 6 Pump never turns off. (Providing it has inlet pressure and the filters/ membranes are not clogged). If product pressure rises substantially above 145 psi, replace high pressure switch. If pump never reaches 125 psi product and inlet water exists then replace pump. 7 14 12 13 15 11 8 16 9 17 10 18 14 19 Pump never turns on. Mists for split second and begins dripping or only drips. 1. 24 V DC Transformer 115 V (#23211), 230 V (#23212) 2. Power switch (#23132) 3. 5 amp reset breaker (#23247) 4. Green LED panel mount (#23140) 5. Inlet gauge (#15005) 6. Product gauge (#15005) 7. Dial pot 20 K (#23246) 8. Mist valve (under the metal plate) (#12048) 9. Timer module (#23181) 10. 24 oz Accumulator black tank (#21003) Check the breaker, high pressure switch, transformer or pump needs replaced. Watch Product gauge during a mist cycle. If it drops near 0 psi, then pressure tank has lost air pressure. All water will need to be drained from the tank and refilled with air to 65 psi. If the air pressure is not holding, replace the tank. If water comes out of the Schrader valve, the tank needs to be replaced. 11. Carbon filter (#11009) 12. Low energy 75 gpm membrane inside (#11076) 13. Housing membrane (#11074) 14. Flow restrictor (#11012) 15. Brine valve (#12050) 16. Purge valve (#12048) 17. Pressure switch (#14001) 18. Low flow pump (#10025) 19. 1 way check valve (#17149) 5 MIATECH TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONS Atomizer 36-DC User Guide Maintenance Guide SEP 23, 2015
