Description KOBOLD compressed air-supply meters are supplied in a complete measuring path. The throughput is sensed by a sensor using the proven calorimetric principle. Reproducible flow velocity measurement is achieved with defined and constant sensor installation conditions, constant flow conditions and known inlet and outlet routes. This is a prerequisite for the economical determination of the mass flow with a high degree of measuring accuracy. Pressure correction is not required because mass flow is measured directly. One of the two Pt100 elements in the sensor is heated with a heating control loop by a constant temperature difference over the medium temperature, which at the same time is sensed by the second Pt 100 element. The greater the mass rate of flow, the more heat is dissipated and the more current is drawn. The heating current is therefore a measure of the gas flow rate. It is digitized in the sensor and output as a nonlinear 25 to 100 Hz signal. The nominal-size-specific linearization is stored in the seriesconnected flow computer along with measuring range, analogue output and filter function. Two displays are available for actual flow and for flow metering. A special ball valve ensures that the sensor arrangement is always constant; it also facilitates easy cleaning and sensor replacement. Two types of ball valve are available: fitting and removing the sensor during operation with or without flow interruption. Applications Measuring and recording service compressed air and nitrogen Monitoring and leakage measurement Regulating the air supply from compressors Efficiency measurement Capacity measurement Recording consumption and cost Other gases on request The compressed air-supply meter is calibrated at the factory and supplied fully assembled with a certificate. After fitting and connection to the supply the system is ready for operation. 2 www.kobold.com
