A SAFETYINSTRUCTIONS Read operator's manual. Be thoroughly familiar with the controls, capabilities, and proper use of the equipment. NEVER ALLOW ANY RIDERS. Thoroughly inspect RaPS Cab and RaPS Cab Mounting periodicy. Stay alert for hidden hazards and traffic. Avoid sudden starts, excessive speeds, and sudden stops when operating on hillside, rough ground and most off-the-road operations. Use extreme care when working close to fences, ditches, or on hillsides. Wait for tractor to STOP before dismounting. Check clearance carefully before driving under any objects. Avoid operating sideways on a steep slope whenever possible. Never exceed factory recommended specifications. Do not weld, cut, drill or modify instructed by manufacturer. MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS FOR JOHN DEERE 425, 445, 455 R.O.P.S. CAB ~- READ THROUGH THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE STARTING.. Preparation of the tractor. A. Remove the (2) grab handles on the seat deck. 8. Open the hood. C. Remove the taillights from the seat deck. D. Remove the side engine covers. E. Slide the seat to the farthest forward position. F. Remove the front pto shaft if the tractor is so equipped. 2. Inst the front mount. A. Attach the front cab mount to the tractor frame with (4) /2" x 2" hexhead screws, (8) /2" flatwashers, (4) /2" lockwashers and (4) /2" nuts. Do not tighten completely at this time. Figure # and #2. 8. Inst a rubber isolation mount into each of the front mount plate holes. Figure #. Figure 2 c Figure. Cab preparation. A. (Optional - This step is not required but will make it easier to work on the cab when mounting it.) Remove the doors from the cab by removing the spring clip from the end of the gas spring door holder. Remove the gas spring from the b stud. Lift the doors off of the hinges. (This is also how to remove the doors for summer use.) 8. Inst (2) rubber isolation mounts into each rear side cab mounting plate. Figure #4. Figure 4. Set the cab onto the tractor. A. Lift the cab by placing a strap through both door openings. 8. Lower the cab onto the tractor. Line up the cab front mount holes with the holes in the front isolation mounts. Center the rear of the cab on the tractor. Inst () /8" x 2 /2" hexhead screw, (2) /8" flatwashers, () /8" lockwasher and () /8" nut into each front cab mount. Do not tighten at this time. Figure #. Inst one end of the ground wire assembly to one of the front mount bolts. The other end will be attached to the cab when insting the lower front filler.
Figure 4 Figure 6 C. Check the seal between the tractor seat deck and the cab bubble rubber. Adjust the front cab mount forward or backwards as required to get a good seal. Figure #5. D. Tighten the bolts that attach the front cab mount to the tractor frame per the torque chart provided. E. Recheck the cab to make sure it is centered from side to side on the seat deck. Match drill a /8" dia. hole through each of the (4) rear isolation mounts into the tractor seat deck. 5. Inst the rear cab mounts. A. Bolt each of the rear cab mounts to the tractor frame with (2) /8" x /4" hexhead screws, (4) /8" flatwashers, (2) /8" lockwashers and (2) /8" nuts. Do not tighten at this time. Figure #6 & 7. Inst () /8" x 2 /2" hexhead screw with a /8" flatwasher up through each of the rear cab mount holes passing through the matched drilled hole in the seat deck and the rubber isolation mount. Secure each with a /8" flatwasher, /8" lockwasher and a /8" nut. Figure # 4 & 8. Figure 8 2 Figure 5 C. Inst the seat belt onto the (2) inside rear mounting bolts. Use the.25" wide formed bracket to mount the retractor half of the seat belt to the IE" side rear mount. Use the 7/6" x " bolt, (2) 7/6 flatwashers and 7/6" nylock nut to attach the seat belt to the bracket. Figure #9. D. Tighten cab mounting bolts per the torque chart.
E. Tighten the rear cab mount to tractor frame bolts per the torque chart. ~. Reinst the tractor taillights. i. Reinst the front pto shaft if so equipped. 8. Hook up the cab power supply wire to the positive (+) post of the tractor starter motor. Secure the wire to prevent contact with any hot or moving parts. 9. Raise the cab windshield and rest it on the opened tractor hood. 0. Reinst the (2) side engine covers. B. Right side. Remove the bubble rubber seal that is attached to the bottom edge of the assembly. Inst the front panel assembly in the cab by slipping the brake pedal through the boot on the assembly. Reinst the bubble rubber seal and position the assembly so that the (2) holes in the assembly line up with the (2) holes in the right front corner tube. Fasten the same as the left side. Inst the pocket mount bracket the same as on the left side. Pull the cord on the boot up tight around the brake pedal rod and tie it to seal. Position the assembly so that the (2) holes in the assembly line up with the (2) holes in the left front corner tube. Fasten with (2) /4" x /4" self tapping screws and (2) /4" flatwashers. (A /4-20 tap may be used to thread the tube holes.) Inst the pocket mount bracket by slipping the short end behind the tractor tunnel lip and fastening it to the assembly with () /4" x /4" hexhead screw, () /4" flatwasher and () /4" lockwasher. C. NOTE: In order to remove the side engine covers with the cab insted, the lower front panel assemblies will have to be removed. D. NOTE: The pockets should be checked periodicy during use for accumulation of any grass, leaves or snow which should be removed. 2. Inst the floor mats. (L&R) Place the floor mats on the tractor foot pads. Tuck them under the door threshold lip and ;aroundthe pedais. Figure #. CAUTION: Check the pedals for binding on the floor mat. Trim as required for proper clearance. Figure. Reinst the doors. Reverse the order of steps to remove the doors to reinst them. 4. Air intake cover assembly. A. Inst the air intake cover over the tractor air intake screen. Position the cover and remove the backing on the velcro strips and press into place. Figure #4. B. CAUTION: Use the cover in cold weather only. Remove the cover for summer use. 5. Lower the tractor hood and the cab windshield. The windshield is held in place by (2) /4 turn latches. Figure 4
