JVC drilled forty-eight (48) wells, PSC thirty-seven (37) wells while Service Contract Companies had no drilling activities. Out of the total wells drilled, sixty-three (63) were Development wells, seven (7) were Work-over/Completion wells, ten (10) Appraisal and five (5) Exploratory wells. The total number of rig count during the quarter amounted to twenty-eight (28). (See table 1 & 2 for more details) 2.0 CRUDE OIL AND CONDENSATE 2.1 Production: Total Crude Oil and Condensates produced in the second Quarter 2007 stood at 187,199,323 barrels averaging 2.06 million barrels per day (MBPD). The major contributors to the total production for the quarter are: Mobil (24.90%), Chevron (16.51%) Shell (16.45%), Elf (10.23%). The alternative funding production for the quarter was 24,545,398 barrels, which is 12.09% of the total production. The Oil Producing Companies with their Production figures, average daily production and percentage contribution in descending order are shown below. (See table 4 for more details). 3

(See Table 5). 3.0 NATURAL GAS 3.1 Natural Gas Production and Utilization: A total volume of 574.28 Billion standard cubic Feet (BSCF) of natural gas was produced by eight (8) Oil Producing Companies in the First Quarter of 2007. Out of the quantity produced, 198.10 Bscf or 34.50% was flared while the remaining 376.18 Bscf (65.50%) was utilized as follows: 74.81 Bscf was re-injected, 94.57 Bscf was for LNG feedstock, 158.37 Bscf was sold to third parties. The Oil Producing Companies used 18.49 Bscf as fuel gas and 12.28 Bscf as gas lift to enhance condensate production. EPCL took 2.83 Bscf and 12.91 Bscf for fuel gas and LPG/NGL feedstock respectively. 6

4.0 REFINERY OPERATIONS 4.1 Crude Oil Balance: In the Second Quarter 2007, the three refineries (KRPC, PHRC and WRPC) had 340,174 mt of dry crude oil as opening stock and received 377,309 mt of dry crude oil. The total crude oil available for processing, therefore, stood at 717,483 mt. Out of this, 494,845 mt of crude oil was processed into petroleum products. The closing stock at the end of the Quarter was 222,638 mt of crude oil. The average daily throughput for each refinery in metric tons per day was: KRPC 0; PHRC 5438 and WRPC 0.00; (see Table 8); thus leaving their respective capacity utilization for the Quarter as 0%, 19.08% and 0.00% respectively. (See figure 4). 4.2 Production Returns: The three (3) refineries KRPC, PHRC and WRPC produced 459,806 mt of intermediate and finished products as against a volume of 677,352 mt evacuated by PPMC during the quarter (See Table 11). 4.2.1 Refinery Fuel and Loss: During the Quarter, the three (3) refineries recorded 61,885 mt of products as refinery fuel and loss, which was 12.51% of the total crude processed by the refineries. 54,151 mt (10.94%) of various products was used as fuel, while 2,360 mt (0.48%) was the quantity of gas flared and 5,374 mt (1.09%) was recorded as losses. (See Table 12). 5.0 DOMESTIC PETROLEUM PRODUCTS DISTRIBUTION: During the Second Quarter 2007, the Major and Independent Petroleum Products Marketing Companies distributed a total of 2,380.80 million litres of different petroleum products. This showed a decrease of 676.81 million litres or 22.14% when compared with the total volume distributed in the First Quarter, 2007 (3,057.61 million litres). The Major Petroleum Products Marketing Companies sold 1,713.65 million litres (71.98% of the total sales) of petroleum products, while the Independent Petroleum Products Marketing Companies sold the remaining 667.15 million litres (28.02% of the total sales). In the petroleum products distribution slate, Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) had the highest figure of 1,839.44 million litres (77.26% of the total) reflecting average daily sales of 20.21 million litres. This was followed by Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) with total sales figure of 291.70 million litres (12.25%) averaging 3.21 million litres per day. Dual Purpose Kerosine (DPK) came third in the petroleum products distribution slate with total sales figure of 104.10 million litres (4.37%) giving an average daily sales figure of 1.14 million litres. (Table 13, 14, and 15 refer).
