These procedures should not be attempted by do-it-yourselfers. 1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio, then write down the frequencies for the preset buttons. 2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery. 3. Remove the radiator cover (four clips). CLIPS (2) Pry against the panel surface. 4. With the help of an assistant, remove the front bumper (six clips, two screws and four bolts). Set the front bumper on a blanket. 6. Using a utility knife, and working from the front of the bumper, carefully cut out the front bumper in the area shown. Take care not to damage the front bumper. Remove any burrs from the edges of the hole. BOLTS (2) Cut out the area from the bumper SCREWS (2) CLIPS (6) BOLTS (2) 6613061T 5. Apply masking tape to the front bumper around the left fog light area. UTILITY KNIFE Carefully cut in the areas shown. 5311042T 7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 to cut the bumper for the right fog light. 8. 9. Tape the template marked L to the inside of the front bumper below the left fog light opening. Using a pushpin, pierce the bumper through the mark in the template. PUSHPIN 12. Position the left bracket on the left fog light, and install the two stepped screws and one washer screw. Tighten the screws securely. LEFT MASKING TAPE TEMPLATE (L side) LEFT BRACKET 5311061T 10. While wearing eye protection, drill a 10 mm hole through the bumper at the marked location. First drill with a 3 mm drill bit and finish with a 10 mm drill bit. WASHER SCREW STEPPED SCREWS (2) 5311080T 13. Inside the front bumper, slide the left fog light into the cutout you made, and secure it with three self-tapping screws. DRILL (3 mm 10 mm) MARK 5311071T SELF-TAPPING SCREWS (3) 11. Using the template marked "r", repeat steps 9 and 10 to mark and drill the right side of the front bumper. LEFT 5311091T 14. 15. Route the fog light harness along the inside of the front bumper, and plug in the 2-pin connectors into the fog lights. 19. Slide the clip onto the 2-pin connector of fog light harness and secure the connector to the right bracket. WIRE TIE WITH CLIP Aligning with vertical ribs, and secure the wire ties with clips to the bumper. Secure the clips attached to the fog light harness to the left and right fog light brackets. 17. Loosely install five wire ties with clip on the fog light harness. 18. Bring each of the five wire ties with clip into contact with the respective vertical ribs of the front bumper as shown, and tighten the five wire ties with clip securely. BOLT Loosen. 21. Locate the 1-pin connector blue-taped to the vehicle harness and remove the blue tape to free the 1-pin connector. Plug the 1-pin connector you just freed into the 1-pin connector from the sub harness. 24. Secure the two clips from the sub harness to the vehicle frame. Secure the sub harness to the vehicle harness using two wire ties. CLIP 1-PIN WIRE TIE FRAME SUB 5311131T BLUE TAPE (Remove.) SUB 5307121T 22. Route the sub harness between the washer reservoir tank and vehicle panel and route it in the direction shown. 25. Reinstall the washer reservoir tank. 26. Plug the 2-pin connector from the sub harness into the 2-pin connector of the fog light harness. 28. Remove the cover from the trunk lid/fuel fill door opener (six retaining tabs), and remove one selftapping screw. KEY SELF- TAPPING SCREW COVER RETAINING TABS (6) 31. Remove the footrest. Using a hex wrench, remove the lower clip from the stud bolt. Using a flat-tip screwdriver, remove the upper clip from the stud bolt. Pull away the weatherstrip from left kick panel and remove the left kick panel (two clips). 33. Remove the driver s dashboard under cover (turn the lock knob 90 counterclockwise, and release the two clips and pin). If the vehicle you are working on is a DX model continue with step 35. If the vehicle you are working on is a LX or EX model go to step 38. 35. Lower the tilt lever and move the steering wheel down and toward you, then return the tilt lever to its original position. Cover the combination switch with a shop towel to protect it from damage. 37. Apply masking tape to the instrument panel as shown, and remove the meter panel (one selftapping screws, 11 clips, and vehicle connectors). 39. Insert the white/red and blue terminals from the switch harness into the vehicle white 34-pin connector. At the fuse box, unplug the green 42-pin connector, the white 34-pin connector and the blue 21-pin connector by pushing the retaining tab and raising the lock of each connector. On the white 34-pin connector, close the lock, and remove the cover by pushing on the end to release the tabs, and sliding the cover out. GREEN WHITE 40. Reinstall the cover to the white 34-pin connector, then plug all three connectors into the fuse box. 41. Plug the switch harness 6-pin connector into the fuse box at the location shown. 6-PIN <Front view> BLUE Slide. Push. FUSE BOX Push. NOTE: If the fuse box 6-pin connector is already being used by another accessory, unplug that 6-pin connector from the fuse box. Locate the 6- pin connector taped to the switch harness, and remove the dummy connector. Plug the other accessory s harness 6-pin into switch harness, and plug the switch harness 6-pin connector into the fuse box. 45. Route the switch harness relay block above the knee bolster. 46. Plug the relay into the switch harness relay block, then slide the relay block onto the vehicle bracket stay. KNEE BOLSTER 6-PIN DUMMY (Discard.) OTHER ACCESSORY 6-PIN 42. Route the single pin terminal from the switch harness down from the fuse box area. 5311310T RELAY BLOCK 5307180T 43. Below the fuse box, locate and disconnect the vehicle 20-pin connector. Slide the retainer from the vehicle 20-pin connector outward, and insert the violet terminal from the switch harness into the 20-pin connector. 47. Remove the vehicle ground bolt and install the switch harness ground terminal using the ground bolt. 49. Install the fog light switch: DX Model Remove the pocket from the meter panel (three self-tapping screws). GROUND BOLT (Reuse.) GROUND TERMINAL 48. Locate the 1-pin connector blue-taped to the vehicle harness. Plug the switch harness 1-pin connector into the vehicle 1-pin connector. 5311200T SELF- TAPPING SCREW POCKET (Discard.) METER PANEL 5306260T Install the switch trim to the meter panel with the three self-tapping screws. 1-PIN SELF- TAPPING SCREW (Reuse.) Plug the switch harness 5-pin connector into the switch, and reinstall the meter panel. Route the switch harness 5-pin connector through the hole. METER PANEL METER PANEL 5-PIN 5311340T 5-PIN 5311230T Plug the switch harness 5-pin connector into the switch and install the switch to the meter panel. Go to step 50, DX model. LX, EX Model While wearing gloves, push the switch cover out from the inner side of the meter panel. 50. Secure the switch harness to the vehicle harness and to knee bolster with nine wire ties in the areas shown. 51. Check that all wire harnesses are routed properly and all connectors are plugged in. USE AND CARE How to Operate Fog Lights FUSE BOX 20 A FUSE <Front View> Turn the light switch to the position (headlights on low beam). Make the fog light switch on (indicator is on). NOTE: The fog light lenses can cloud when the outside temperature is cold; this is normal and should go away in warm weather. If the fog light don't come on, check the fuse and all the connectors, including the ground cable. Fog Light Aiming Adjustment 54. Adjust the fog light: Adjust the aim according to local laws and regulations. To adjust, turn the aiming adjustment knob in or out until the correct aim is obtained. FUSE LOCATION 6 5307240T 52. Reinstall all removed parts. Do not reinstall the outboard bumper bolts at this time. 53. Reconnect the negative cable to the battery. AIMING ADJUSTMENT SCREW To lower. To raise. 5311251T 70. BULB REPLACEMENT 1. Remove the six clips and bumper bolt from the bottom of the front bumper, then pull down the under cover and inner fender. UNDER COVER CLIP (6) Pull down. BOLT INNER FENDER 6613070T 4. Install the new bulb and socket to the fog light. Use only a genuine Honda halogen light bulb of specified wattage. Rating: 12V 55W H11 Halogen Light Bulb P/N 33165-S5A-003 Do not touch the bulb. Oily or greasy substances on the bulb can shorten its service life due to the heat produced when the bulb is turned on. If the bulb is accidentally touched, wipe it clean with a soft cloth that has been dampened with a denatured alcohol or a mild detergent solution. Align the tab on the fog light with the cutout in the bulb when installing the new bulb. If not aligned, the fog light may annoy oncoming drivers. 2. Disconnect the fog light connector by accessing it from the center side of the vehicle. 3. Remove the bulb. BULB 5311280T BULB 5311270T 5. Reinstall the removed parts in the reverse order of removal. Check that the wire harnesses are not pinched. Be sure to tighten the self-tapping screw and bolts securely. 6.
