TECHNICAL SESSIONS 1-on-1 Technical Sessions 1-on-1 technical meetings can be scheduled for one to three hours during the course of the UGM. This meeting is a 1-on-1 meeting with an engineer from ThermoAnalytics. Bring your TAITherm and/or CFD model and technical questions. This is a working session which focuses on your needs and questions. Openings are available on the following days: Monday, April 18 Wednesday, April 20 Thursday, April 21 Brake Technical Session 20 April (Wednesday) Advanced transient methods in TAITherm can simulate any transient brake cycle. Discover an efficient and innovative design process that supports fast turnaround for vehicle development. This hands-on technical session will include topics such as: Setting up brake models and running transient simulation Thermal CFD simulation process Modeling brake fade Process automation Accelerating simulation turn-around time Cabin Comfort Technical Session ThermoAnalytics Cabin Comfort focus session will educate engineers on the current best practices, limitations, and latest technologies for simulating human cabin comfort. Emphasis will be placed on the following topics: Human geometry generation techniques (starting from CAD, using 3D scanner, etc.) Setting up and analyzing transient human thermal and human comfort simulations Automated human comfort parametric analysis and reporting Cabin comfort simulations with virtual human response including coupling test manikins and developing efficient virtual verification process Planning, setting up and developing consistent cabin comfort tests that are consistent and enable CAE model correlation Realistic animation of human geometry for transient thermal simulation Using human thermal comfort model to provide virtual human control of the HVAC system Simulating localized effects on human comfort (for example for heated and cooled seats) Setting up and scaling female and male passenger parameters such as height and weight
TECHNICAL SESSIONS GT-SUITE Technical Session At this technical session you will learn how to design and control an entire HVAC system and transient cabin comfort simulation using the tight coupling of GT-SUITE and TAITherm. This coupling process leads to an efficient solution that is faster than real time. This session will also include topics such as: Transient 3D simulation of cabin heat transfer 1D simulation of the A/C loop and controls Assessment of occupant thermal comfort with manikin model Controlling the HVAC system using manikin model comfort metrics as input Design optimization IR Technical Session Understand the power of our simulation process using TAIThermIR, one of the worlds most advanced thermal and infrared programs. Learn more about TAIThermIR s powerful features and how you can solve even the most complex infrared challenges. EO/IR modeling and process workflow Maritime and airborne target modeling discussion Advanced EO/IR modeling topics Texture mapping, super-sampling Inclusion of atmospheric effects Sensor blur and sensor noise Probability of detection Modeling targets in visible and Near-IR spectrums Scene simulation including moving targets and sensor platforms
Software Training Session Join ThermoAnalytics for TAITherm and TAIThermIR software training. The TAITherm training session covers the use of TAITherm for thermal analysis using a wide variety of practical examples. The TAIThermIR session will cover a variety of IR topics.
