Congratulations! You have just purchased the finest Air Induction & Filtration system for your car at any price! The AEM Cold Air Intake System is the result of extensive development on a wide variety of cars. It is the most advanced Cold Air Intake System on the market. Each system is specifically engineered for its application. All AEM Cold Air Intake Systems deliver maximum performance gains through lightweight, all-aluminum, mandrelbent tubing that is tuned in both length and diameter. The aluminum will not crack in extended use like plastic. The tube length and diameter are matched for each specific engine to give power over a broad RPM range. Unlike plastic systems that use a continually diverging cross-section, we take advantage of the acoustical energy in the inlet duct to promote cylinder filling during the intake valve-opening event. Every intake is coated with a high-gloss, heat-reducing Zirconia based powder coating. This special blend of powder coating helps reduce heat penetration, which in turn reduces the temperature of the inlet air charge. The cooler inlet air temperature translates to more power during the combustion process because cool air is denser than warm air. The filter element has also been extensively developed. An integral part of all our filter elements is a built-in velocity stack. This velocity stack is specifically engineered to improve the aerodynamic efficiency of the intake system. We have seen airflow gains on a flow bench of 12-15% by using this velocity stack. The air mass flow to the engine is increased because of the increased airflow and reduced inlet temperature, which translates to more power. Read and understand these instructions BEFORE attempting to install this product. Note: This inlet pipe kit may require the removal and reinstallation of emissions related components. If you are not familiar with the installation and/or the operation of these components then please refer this installation to a qualified professional. 1) Getting started a) b) c) d) Make sure vehicle is parked on a level surface. Set parking brake. Disconnect negative battery terminal. If engine has run within the past two hours let it cool down. 2) Removing the stock air inlet system a) Your engine bay should look similar to that below. Unplug MAF sensor. Remove IAT sensor. b) The stock air intake system. c) Unplug the MAF sensor and remove the IAT sensor from the air box. Set coolant reservoir aside. d) Unclip IAT and MAF sensor harness from the air box. e) Remove the radiator fluid overflow bottle and set aside in the engine bay. Do not disconnect the any of the coolant lines. There should be plenty of slack in the hose. 3

Loosen and remove bolt. Loosen and remove nut. f) Loosen and remove bolt. g) Loosen and remove nut. Loosen hose clamp Squeeze clamp and release from intake tube. h) Loosen and remove hose clamp. Remove the air box assembly. Remove breather hose j) Remove valve cover breather hose. This hose will not be reused. i) Squeeze clamp and release blow off valve hose from the intake tubing. Loosen hose clamp and remove intake tubing k) Loosen hose clamp and remove intake tubing from the turbo inlet. 4

3) Installing the Cold Air Intake System When installing the Cold Air Intake System, DO NOT completely tighten the hose clamps or mounting tab hardware until instructed to do so later in these instructions. Hose clamps a) Assemble the turbo inlet pipe as shown. Nipple Reducer coupler b) Attach the reducer coupler, hose clamps and inlet pipe to the turbo inlet. Make sure to clear the fan shroud. This should be the 2.5-2.75 coupler. 5

c) Attach coupler and hose clamps to the inlet pipe. Make sure pipe clears upper charge pipe and BOV hose. Attach here BOV hose Upper charge pipe Remove 2 bolts d) Remove the 2 bolts holding the MAF sensor. Carefully remove the MAF sensor from the air box. e) Remove rubber gasket. This piece will not be reused. MAF Sensor f) Insert the MAF sensor into the coupler. Make sure the MAF sensor is pointing up and the plug for the harness is pointing towards the firewall. g) Attach coupler and hose clamps. 6

h) Insert rubber mount. Note the location of the hole. Rubber Mount Insert pipe Insert pipe Rubber edge trim i) Attach rubber edge trim. Trim as necessary. j) Insert lower pipe into the lower cavity. Then insert the pipe into the coupler with the MAF Sensor. Align with rubber mount. Secure inlet pipe k) Attach dry filter element to the end of the inlet pipe. Make sure the filter clears the body and splashguard. Tighten filter. l) Secure inlet pipe at the bracket on the rubber mount. 7

Rubber mount Secure here n) Secure rubber mount to the radiator tab support. o) Secure the coolant reservoir-mounting bracket to the rubber mount and also to the frame. Rubber Mount Lock Nut Fender Washer Coolant reservoir mounting bracket p) Attach the coolant overflow reservoir to the new bracket. 8

Secure breather hose q) Attach crank case breather hose and secure with hose clamps. 3 hose 3 hose Attach hose clamps to the assembly as shown. 4 hose r) Assemble BOV return hose like above. The stock hose attaches on the same side as the nipple on the BOV. Attach the 3 hoses to the BOV. The stock spring clamps are used to at the BOV. Insert 90 degree elbows into each end of the 3 hoses. Secure with hose In clamps. The stock hose attaches to the same side as the nipple on the BOV. On the opposite side attach the 4 hose and secure with hose clamps. 9

Attach here. Attach here. s) Attach the 4 end to the turbo inlet pipe and secure with provided hose clamp. t) Attach the connector end to the BOV hose return side. Secure with hose clamp. Insert grommet Reinsert IAT sensor. u) Insert grommet for the IAT sensor. v) Reinsert IAT sensor. 10

w) The BOV assembly should look like this. x) Reinsert the coolant reservoir on the new bracket. Your AEM Cold Air Intake System should look like this. 11

4) Reassemble the vehicle a) Check that the AEM inlet pipe and filter are not touching any part of the vehicle. b) Check for proper hood clearance. c) Tighten all hose clamps and rubber mount. d) Re-adjust pipes if necessary. e) Reinstall the wheel well liner. f) Inspect the engine bay for any loose tools and check that all fasteners that were moved or removed are properly tight. g) Start engine, check for vacuum leaks and perform a final inspection before driving the vehicle.
