JUNE 2017 Time to change to summer air Does that pesky tire pressure light keep coming on?? Try this! If you re not lucky enough to drive only classics, your every day driver most than likely has one of those pesky tire pressure monitoring systems that constantly turns on your dash light. What turns it on?!? More than likely, you ve got a tire with high or low pressure. This is a pretty simple fix, simply check all of your tire pressures and adjust as necessary. During season changes, these lights tend to come on the most which can cause constant frustration. How to tell if you have a more serious problem you ask? For most modern cars, if the TPMS system has a problem, it will flash the TPMS light as soon as you start the vehicle indicating there is a problem. If it still won t go out, check your spare tire and check your owner s manual to see if there is a reset button that must be pressed after checking your tire pressures. During season changes, these lights tend to come on the most which can cause constant frustration. On certain vehicles, like VW, they use an indirect system that measures wheel rotation to determine the tire pressure. Systems like this tend to turn on the light every couple of months just to have the driver check the tire pressures and set the system, even if there is nothing wrong. Although other manufactures utilize an actual sensor within each wheel like pictured above. HELP WANTED! All clubs rely on volunteers to guide the club and help organize activities. Belonging to the board gives you the inside track on what s happening with Dogwood and Lambda Car Club International. Serving on the board doesn t take up too much time and can be a lot of fun.
