GR-RRR8 R Wichita Pontiac Club s Monthly Publication July 2015
I always liked that article that Stan Rarden wrote in the Legend about his favorite Nationals. Where he talks about each one being his favorite. That is my belief too. So, in talking about the Columbus Indiana Nationals it will be my favorite one yet!! I will tell you it did rain some but hey it was raining in Kansas when I left. Bought a new camera from best buy and it broke 1st day out. But the good news was Sam & Jean was there to get any shot I wanted to. So all pictures in this newsletter are from them. On Friday morning I was setting outside watching it rain when Sam came and said lets go to the Bill Estes Seminar. Thank you Sam it was a great Seminar. Bill called it Growing up Estes, and that is all I am telling you for now. It was OUTSTANDING. No club meeting this month we decided with both GTOAA and POCI Nationals going on we all were to busy. Tim will be hosting the Aug. meeting and once he works out a date for it we will put it in the Aug. newsletter. Might save the date Aug 8th for a run up to Great Bend for the Big Party in the Park Car Show and city event. Robin was suppose to be working on getting me a flyer. If I don't have it before the newsletter goes out you can Google it to see what all is going on. Hope you can make it. See you down the road. The Pres. Up to visit with The 2015 Oakland- Pontiac Worldwide Homecoming Tour on June 17th. You will have to be at the next meeting to hear the rest of the story on it!

Hi Pontiac Fans, I want to let you know that friend and fellow hot rodder David Worley roadsterpilots@cox.net is once again painting custom hot rod mail boxes that are fantastic. For several years he has painted flamed mail boxes that many of us hot rodders use to receive our mail or proudly display in our houses. David is now painting custom Tiger Striped mail boxes for Pontiac/ GTO fans. The mail box looks GRRRREAT! Please see the two attached photos. (You will also notice a flamed mail box in the background). If you are interested in talking with David about purchasing a custom painted mail box you may contact him at roadsterpilots@cox.net David regularly cruises his bright yellow 26 Ford Roadster to the Friday Night Central and West St. Cruise In and many other weekend car shows. He usually brings one of his custom painted mail boxes to the cruise ins and car shows. Please consider contacting David about a custom mail box and also please share this information with your other Pontiac friends. Happy Cruisin', Galen Davis
The June 13, 2015 meeting was hosted by Robb Nutt and his family with 16 members present. Gary G. reported that we have $23,000 in the account and only have $2000 outstanding for the club t-shirts. Those going to the Kansas Star Casino car show can meet at Les's at 1:45 and head down as a group. The Sunflower Swap meet will be back at the Coliseum in 2016, Casino was to expensive. The Club did not renew it's spots as there are several club members that have their own spots. In regards to swap meet items, Les asked the club if he could put the tables, used for the swap meet, in the Silent Auction for the Uprising. Ron S. made motion, Dan J. seconded, motion carried. GTOAA Nationals, July 7-11 at Columbus, IN. Robb N. is donating one of the Indian heads for their Silent Auction and Les will transport it. POCI Convention in Louisville, KY is July 21-25. With so many things going on this month it was suggested we not have a July meeting. Rita J. made motion, Ron S. seconded, motion carried. Next meeting will be at Tim M. Club T-shirts are available. Dave C. is still working on getting name badges. Old Business--- Uprising - Mike C. passed out a work list for the up coming Uprising. Went down list and members volunteered for the different things that need to be accomplished. There will be a new flyer/mailer printed as some important things have changed, like gates opening later and adding guest speaker for Tech Session and advertising the return of Arnie to Wichita for our event. Les and Rita will get that taken care of. Everyone left with their assignments. Meeting adjourned.
