Remove the dust/grease cap from the hub assembly. If oil filled hubs, ensure you collect the oil from the hub and dispose of in the appropriate manner taking into account all relevant environmental protection legislation. e. Remove the locking device from the retaining nut. f. Before removing retaining nut, check the preload or tension on the nut following the procedure outlined in the workshop manual. If no: List the tension or preload obtained: g. Remove the locking nut and set aside. h. Using the recommended lift device, remove the wheel bearings and place on clean surface and cover.
