Each Armoured Battle Group box is the building block from which you can assemble your Dystopian Wars land forces. Massive Land Ships, devastating Artillery, deadly Medium Tanks and Small Tank Tokens come together to fight across the battlefields of the world! Dystopian Wars is designed to allow ground, air and naval forces to combine together as you wage war against your enemies. This means the models in this boxed set can easily be used with other models from the game, such as Battleships, Escorts, Corvettes, Submersibles, Destroyers, Gunships, Dreadnoughts, Airships, Bombers and other machines of war. But the land forces offer gamers the opportunity to recreate massive armoured engagements, be it on the green fields of Europe, the vast desert expanse of North Africa or the icy wastes of Antarctica. As your Battleships lay siege to a harbour, and your aerial units bomb vital military installations, your ground vehicles can sweep across the gaming table, smashing all that lays before them...
In 1867 the Kingdom of Britannia underwent a massive restructure of its military into a single, combined war machine that could be used to strike down insurrection around the world, whether it was on land, sea or air. 1 x Sovereign Class Land Ship The Sovereign is the utility workhorse of the Britannian land armies, and is a common sight across the world. As well as performing logistical functions it is very versatile, with different models of the same design having either turrets, mortars or a headquarters. Parts to make 3 variants of a Sovereign Class Land Ship are including in this box. 6 x MKII Class Medium Tank The MKII has plenty of firepower in three arcs giving it lots of options and no fear of being surrounded. A well positioned squadron of MKIIs can hold ground and threaten multiple enemies, linking their fire when necessary to take down targets of a larger class. 3 x Cromwell Class Bombard The Cromwell is a bunker buster of a tank. Although rigged for indirect fire it has been used extensively on the battlefield as a close range battle tank. 10 x Terrier Class Small Tank The Terrier is fast and agile, usually deployed in large numbers as a screen. In a combined attack a full squadron is a threat to most targets. A Britannia Armoured Battle Group supported by two Doncaster Bombers and a Hawk Medium Flyer
As the dominant military power in Europe, the Prussian Empire has many enemies, the greatest of which is the Kingdom of Britannia. The Prussian Empire has the largest army in Europe and, due to its mastery of Tesla Coil weaponry, it is now one of the most technologically advanced nations. 1 x A9-V Sturmpanzer Land Ship The A9-V Sturmpanzer has become rightly feared across the battlefields of the world. It has a fearsome array of turrets and is armed to the teeth with Tesla Coils. Sturmpanzers are at the forefront of every assault and form the heart of every defence. 6 x A6-V Class Medium Tank The A6-V has flexible arcs of fire to take advantage of individual and linked fire. It also carries a sizeable complement of rocket marines. A full squadron of A6-Vs can pose an ever present threat of a massed boarding assault. 3 x B3-S Medium Bombard The B3-S fills a close support role in Prussian armies. They follow behind the first wave of tanks laying down a heavy shifting bombardment. 10 x Walze Class Small Tank The Walze is an efficient scout tank, often deployed in large squadrons. With its fore guns and Tesla coils it is able to look after itself in a fire fight. A Prussian Armoured Battle Group supported by two Geier Bombers and two Pflicht Medium Flyers
The Empire of the Blazing Sun is a proud nation steeped in centuries of tradition. War is second nature to this Empire, its troops having spent many years in conflict with neighbouring nations such as Korea and China. 1 x Taka Ishi Heavy Walker The Taka-Ashi represents an alternate advance in the design of battlefield assets. With its mere size it presents an intimidating target and is a beast in urban combat. It has great all round fire with its knee turrets, main turret and rocket battery. 6 x Chi Ri Class Medium Tank The Chi-Ri has a durable chassis and a wide firing arc with its turret and broadsides. It also has a good anti-aircraft ability for its class. 3 x Ho I Class Bombard The Ho-I is more than capable of bombarding enemy vehicles and fortifications with sustained fire at both short and long range. It can also fire into either the fore or aft arcs. 10 x Ke Ho Class Small Tank The Ke-Ho has a straightforward design (even if it is round!) and can take a fair amount of punishment for its size. A squadron of Ke-Hos can be quite a threat to ground and air targets alike. A Blazing Sun Armoured Battle Group supported by two DFA-170 Bombers and an Inari Medium Flyer
The end of the Civil War led to a period of great transition for the Federated States of America. One of President Adams first orders was the formation of a unified military, a Federal Military with which the lands of the Federated States of America could be protected. 1 x Washington Class Land Ship The Washington is one of very few aquatic tanks having been developed by the Federated States of America to support amphibious landings. Its dual use and potent firepower make it a dangerous asset on the battlefield, while the high profile of its headquarters makes it a rallying point for troops on the battlefield. 6 x Trenton Class Medium Tank The Trenton has powerful fore and aft batteries. A squadron of Trentons is adept at close formation manoeuvres, so that multiple squadrons of Trentons can maintain clear arcs of fire to the front while remaining a danger to enemies that pierce their rear lines. 3 x Yorktown Class Bombard The Yorktown provides essential artillery support to Federated States of America formations. It can lay down destructive strikes from the rear, and has the added feature of firing either forward or backward. 10 x Pioneer Class Small Tank The Pioneer is a tough little tank. It combines direct firepower with improved anti-aircraft capability, and in a full squadron can threaten most flyers. A FSA Armoured Battle Group supported by two A-17 Bombers and two Lee Medium Flyers
ARMOURED MECHANISED COMBAT Spartan Games is pleased to announce the imminent arrival of Armoured Clash, our first set of community rules that we are making free to download from our web site at www.spartangames.co.uk. During the development of the Armoured Battle Group boxed sets it became clear that not only do we LOVE to play large games, but we believe our customers do as well! This is where Armoured Clash steps in. Centred in the world of Dystopian Wars, the rules are designed for large scale land combat with commanders pushing numerous units around a battlefield, the command and control of which is key to their success. So if playing with one Armoured Battle Group excites you think what 2-3 boxes, plus support models, will do to your blood pressure! Early on in the development of the rules it was decided that the game had to be very simple, easy to set up and quick to play. It was also a perfect opportunity to develop the Dystopian Wars background by providing detail on the land armies of the first four main Imperial powers involved in the conflict! One of the great strengths of Dystopian Wars is the way it blends air, land and sea units into a single game system. These free rules are not intended in any way to replace or amend the core Dystopian Wars rule book. They are a totally separate set of rules using unique mechanisms designed to provide players with an opportunity for fun, fast games that focus on the mechanised land units of each Imperial power. The rules needed to play a game of Armoured Clash, Background and Army List for each of the four main Imperial powers and a basic scenario are all provided in the first PDF we will make available on our web site - www.spartangames.co.uk.
