Gen 1 Installation Guide LUNERA T8 LED RETROFIT KITS 1/2/3/4-Lamp Replacement Kits for 2FT or 4FT T8 Fluorescent Lamps Type C - External Driver Installation Description The LUNERA T8 LED RETROFIT KITS consist of one, two, three or four 4FT T8 LED lamps or two, three, or four 2FT T8 LED lamps and a 0-10V dimmable external LED driver, which operates off of 120V-277V AC. These are Type C (External LED Driver) retrofit kit replacements of 1, 2, 3 or 4 bi-pin T8 fluorescent lamps and the fixture s fluorescent ballast. Turn power OFF to the fixture. 2. Remove existing T8 electronic ballast from the fixture - do not disconnect existing wires from the tombstones. Check the Lampholders for Condition 3. Replace Shunted or Non-Shunted lampholders that are rusted, cracked, or corroded. Installing the Kitted LED Driver 4. Wire the kitted Lunera LED driver replacement of the fluorescent ballast. Connect the LED driver s output wires to the G13 bi-pin T8 tombstones as instructed in Figures 1 (one-lamp), 2 (two-lamp), 3 (three-lamp) or 4 (four-lamp). Completing the Installation 5. Install the fixture modification sticker that shipped with the kit inside the fixture. 6. Install the kitted Lunera T8 LED lamps. 7. Turn power ON.
3 of 6 Wiring Flexibility Wiring flexibility is a benefit of Lunera's Type C LED Retrofit Kits. Successful wiring of the retrofit lamp can be accomplished regardless of which socket types are used, which pair of pins are connected, or which direction the lamp is installed. 1. Socket Selection The Lunera Type LED Retrofit Kit lamps are compatible with either Shunted or Non-Shunted tombstone sockets. Inspect the existing sockets to ensure they are in good working order. If they need to be replaced, its is recommended to use either Shunted or Non-Shunted sockets, but do not mix them. 2. Pin Selection Select any pair of pins. Either pin can be positive or negative. It is recommended pin and polarity wiring is done consistently for each lamp in the fixture.
4 of 6 Wiring Flexibility, continued 3. Unused Driver Leads The paired LED driver for the single- and 3-lamp kits will have an extra, unused power pair. This extra pair should be capped off. Lamp Orientation The Lunera Type LED Retrofit Kit lamp can be installed in either direction, as long as the LED strip is facing down with the back of the LED strip facing the top of the fixture. 5 of 6 Three-Lamp Retrofit Luminaire Wiring Diagram Example In this wiring example, the driver power pairs are connected consistently to lamp pins A and B, but any two pair could be selected. The lamps are installed in Shunted or Non-Shunted tombstone sockets and the orientation of the lamp is universal, as shown by the middle lamp being reversed, as long as the LEDs are facing towards the fixture opening. The unused power pair leads from the driver have been capped off and the driver is connected to 120V-277V AC.

All electrical connections shall be provided within an enclosure. Do not make or alter any open holes in an enclosure of wiring or electrical components during kit installation.
