Packer Setting To set Packer inner Mandrel moves up, driving the lower cone below slips, forcing them into the casing wall.

Packer Setting Sealing Element is compressed and extruded into the casing. To set Packer inner Mandrel moves up, driving the lower cone below slips, forcing them into the casing wall.

Mill-Out Extension

Mill-Out Extension If Packer run with a tailpipe, a Mill-Out Extension sleeve must be run immediately below packer in which the catch sleeve will locate. Catch Sleeve collects remains of packer when milling operation is complete and the tool retrieved

Tail-pipe Tailpipe suspended beneath packer performs number of functions: (1) Provides entry flow path for produced fluids into tubing. (2) Provides nipple capability for plugging beneath the packer. (3) Provides nipple capability for landing off pressure/temperature gauges. (4) Provides a Mill-Out Extension as latch area for packer retrieval operations. (5) Provides additional seal bore length. (6) Allows for easy re-entry of wireline tools back into the tubing.
