(ii) An old model of Mercury Arc Converter (Make: AEG, Germany) lying out of order was converted into solid-state form. A thyristor based 3-pulse Mid-point converter using original rectifier transformer was constructed. The converter is working satisfactorily both as rectifier and as an inverter.
