New Courses Introduced: Introduced Advanced Power Electronics course at M. Tech. level. Diversified the present P Electron. courses at UG level by introducing three more courses. Development of Labs: (i) Developed, Power Electronics Lab. in the Department and also set a number of new Experiments in P. S. Protection Lab. (ii) An old model of Mercury Arc Converter (Make: AEG, Germany) lying out of order was converted into solid-state form. A thyristor based 3-pulse Mid-point converter using original rectifier transformer was constructed. The converter is working satisfactorily both as rectifier and as an inverter.
