It should only be installed by a competent technician with nitrous experience. This is FOR RACE USE ONLY and is not intended for public roads or highways. All wiring and nitrous line should be wrapped with the provided wire loom and positioned in a way to prevent engine heat from doing any damage. The use of electrical tape at the end of the wire loom adds to the effect of "stock appearing." We also suggest running all the wiring and nitrous line alongside stock wiring. Be sure all wire terminals are water tight to prevent corrosion. The water proof arming switch should also be located in a discreet location to prevent detection. The nitrous bottle should be mounted away from any engine heat. Under the seat is a good location. Schnitz Racing offer nitrous bottle mounting brackets for some models. Be sure the siphon tube in the nitrous tank is pointing down. You may have to take the bottle valve off and readjust the siphon tube. The nitrous nozzle should mount in a ram air tube or at the very front of the air box. This is to assure equal distribution to all cylinder. The Nitrous will pass through the Air Filter. Start with the smallest supplied jet. Try it on the Dyno first, then try it on the race track. Use stock ignition timing only when you are using the nitrous. Advancing the timing can cause engine damage. Using a minimum 90 octane gasoline is highly recommended. It is recommended that you increase fuel with your Power Commander Map at 100% throttle. This is to insure enough fuel will get to the engine. Refer to your Power Commander manual for instructions on how to do this. We have included a recommended guideline for fuel increase at the end of this manual. Do not allow the engine to hit the rev limiter while using the nitrous. A RPM Activated Switch can be installed to turn off the Nitrous before the Rev Limiter RPM has been reached. Schnitz Racing recommends the TPRS-002. Electrical Terminals 4.0-Power Commander Tuning Tips For safe use of the nitrous system, more fuel will need to be delivered to the engine using the Power Commander. We recommend editing your existing map in the 100% throttle column and at the upper RPM range. Below is a screenshot of the Power Commander software. Here, we added 10% more fuel from 8,000 RPM and higher in the 100% throttle column. Refer to your Power Commander Manual or Dynojet for details on how to do this. Note: If your motorcycle has 8 injectors (2 per cylinder), you will need to increase fuel by 3 times that of the chart provided on page 3. Example: 1000cc engine with 30 jet. Chart for 1 injector per cylinder shows to add 12% more fuel. For an engine with 2 injectors per cylinder, 36% more fuel should be added. This is just a guide. Dyno tuning is the best way to ensure a safe fuel curve. 4

5.0-Wiring Diagrams Some models provide +12V when the Horn Button is Activated. When using wiring diagram #2 the solenoid wire polarity will need to be reversed if the horn button provides +12V. Wiring Diagram #1 Wiring Diagram #2 5

6.0-Optional Products RPM Window Switch with Throttle Position Input The TPRS-002 RPM Window Switch provides a +12 volt output that is controlled by RPM and/or a Throttle Position Sensor signal (0 to 5 volt). The Throttle Position Input function can be turned OFF to provide a PRM Window Switch Controlled output. The RPM function can also be turned OFF to provide a Throttle Position Switch controlled output. Or, both control functions can be used together to control the +12 volt output based on Engine RPM and Throttle Position. This switch is a great way to control when your nitrous is activated. Check out SchnitzRacing.com for more info. The DCS-101 Nitrous Power controller is now being offered by Schnitz Electronics Inc. The new basic nitrous controller was designed for a simple and cost effective means to deliver nitrous power. A simple user interface and simplified wiring installation help to make the controller very user friendly. The starting power percentage can be adjusted from 20% to 50% in 2% increments. While the nitrous power build time is adjustable from 0.0 seconds(instant full nitrous power) to 8.0 seconds in 0.5 second increments.
