Mercedes-Benz PowerShift Transmissions Mercedes PowerShift adapts the rotationa speeds of the main shaft and gear whee by means of the eectronic engine or gearbox contro. This dispenses with the need for servo-ock synchronisation. A propeershaft brake on the countershaft deceerates the rotating gearbox masses when upshifting. When downshifting, the engine speed is boosted to ensure synchronism of the corresponding gear whee with the countershaft.
