If the product is dmged, the structurl cpcity my e wekened; therefore the system should e repired immeditely. For sfe instlltion nd use, do not devite from these instlltion instructions. Additionl support is recommended for long verticl nd ll horizontl tue runs. Review locl uilding requirements nd consult with pproprite uilding code officil for proper mteril nd plcement of dditionl support. Avoid glvnic rection (corrosion) if dissimilr metls re used. Electricl Components Before instlling, servicing, or clening unit, switch power off t service pnel nd lock service pnel to prevent power from ecoming switched on ccidentlly. When the service disconnecting mens cnnot e locked, securely fsten prominent wrning device such s tg to the service pnel. Re-Roofing Soltue products require specil cre if removed for re-roofing. In order to ensure proper removl nd re-instlltion, plese contct your Soltue Interntionl representtive. Plese refer to the instlltion tips for the pproprite product elow: Dylighting Systems Instlltion Tips These instructions re step-y-step guide for the instlltion of Soltue Dylighting System in the following conditions. For other roof types, plese contct your Soltue Interntionl representtive for dditionl informtion. Dylighting Systems Instlltion Tips (Continued) Allow t lest 2-3 hours for the instlltion, prticulrly if this is your first instlltion. During the dy, turn off ll the lights in the room to see how much nturl light comes in through the windows, nd determine the est position for the Soltue Dylighting System. To light specific re, plce the system over the re, not in the center of the room. This will prevent the desired re from eing shded y tll ojects in the room. Mesure the distnce etween the roof nd the ceiling. If you don t hve enough tuing, contct your Soltue Interntionl representtive for dditionl tuing. Avoid roof loctions shded y trees, ridges nd chimneys, or ner wter chnnels or vlleys. Also void roof res with ostructions such s fire sprinklers, HVAC equipment, gs, wter or drin pipes, ir ducts or flues nd mke sure tht the roof is dequte to endure n instlltion without dmging its wterproofing properties or wekening the uilding structure. All dhesives, sels nd tpes re recommended to e pplied to clen nd dry surfce t minimum of 70 F (21 C) for mximum performnce. Foil tpe contins pressure sensitive dhesive nd pressure must e pplied t ll sems for proper onding. Foil tpe is not intended for use s structurl support of the extension tues. For structurl integrity use mnufcturer supplied fsteners on ll overlpping extension tue joints. Uninstlled product tht is stored nd exposed to excessive het nd or humidity cn experience dmge. Store product prior to instlltion in cool dry plce. For instlltions where high levels of suit or deris my e present it my e necessry to use foil tpe to sel the diffuser to the tuing to prevent the excess deris from entering the tuing. Dylight Dimmer Instlltion Tips Plese follow ll locl municipl nd uilding code requirements prior to mking electricl connections. WARNING: To void risk of fire or electric shock do not connect high voltge to the power input terminl on the Soltue 0-10v Dylight Dimmer. CAUTION: To void dmge to the Dylight Dimmer Circuit Bord use only 9V ttery to mnully operte dmpers. See Optionl Step on pge 11. Generl Circuit Limittions: (3) Soltue Dylight Dimmers per 20VA trnsformer nd (11) Soltue Dylight Dimmers per 96VA trnsformer. Mx cle length etween units 30 ft (9.14 m), ggregte control cle length not to exceed 2,110 ft (643 m). Ensure Plcement of Dylight Dimmer Junction Box is uniform for ll units in instlltion for ese of wire connection nd for est esthetics. For ese of wire connection to terminl locks do not strip wire more thn 3/16. Good ground connection is criticl to proper opertion of this system. Ensure tht ground connections re properly nd securely onded to terminl locks to reduce risk of noise nd ensure proper functionlity of system. Segregte power nd signl cles entering into junction ox to void crossover noise. Also, cross the control lines nd the power lines perpendiculr inside junction ox to void noise. (See digrm on pge 9 nd 10) Avoid umping cpcitors on PCB (Printed Circuit Bord) to reduce risk of dmge. If cpcitors re umped nd ecome loose, replce entire junction ox s improper functionlity of Dylight Dimmers is highly prole. When connecting to 0-10V Current Sinking Lighting Controllers, Keep resistor in Aux CNTR Terminl on first unit in control circuit series. Remove resistor from ll susequent units. When connecting to 0-10V Current Sourcing Lighting Controllers, Remove resistor in Aux CNTR Terminl on ll units. When connecting to Open/Close opertion to stndrd wll switch remove resistor from Aux CNTR Terminl on ll units. When connecting to dimming wll control remove resistor from Aux CNTR Terminl on ll units. Importnt Sourcing Notes The Soltue 0-10v Dylight Dimmer is dylight ctutor. It is importnt to source controls for n ctutor rther thn dimmer. The Soltue 0-10v Dylight Dimmer does not hve lod to control. When sourcing controls to use with the Soltue 0-10v Dylight Dimmer, it is est to source controller tht is dimming only nd does not hve n internl/externl rely or lod control. If using controls tht re equipped with n internl/externl rely or lod control, it is importnt to cp off this feture s it will not e used. Trouleshooting 3

Dylight Dimmer(s) do not open or close Dylight Dimmer(s) do not open or close completely Wire/Connection Issue Lighting Control System Trim Ostruction Wire/Connection Issue Check line voltge wire connections to Lighting Controller nd Trnsformer Check low voltge power nd control wire connections to terminl locks. Trim is not correctly set on lighting control wll switch. See control mnufcturer's specifiction for djusting trim. Remove Dome & Diffuser to inspect for ostruction inside tue preventing dmpers from opening or closing completely. Remove ll ostructions. Check wire connections to ensure ll line, neutrl, ground cles re connected correctly. One or more Dylight Dimmer(s) in series oscillte without chnge in lighting control commnd Wiring/Connection Issue Wiring-Grounding Connection Ensure tht trnsformer is connected directly to Supply Line. Do not connect trnsformer to Lighting Controller lod circuit rely. Review nd test the first functioning Dylight Dimmer in series prior to the oscillting unit. Check ll wires re properly connected. Ensure ll strnds re in terminl locks; no strnds re loose or protruding from terminl connection. Once finished move on to the next Dylight Dimmer in series nd repet process. Test ech Dylight Dimmer efore moving on. Check wire connections t controller to ensure ll line, neutrl, ground nd lod re connected correctly. Check ground connections t trnsformer Junction Box nd t ground terminls t ech successive unit. Units mke "humming" sound fter moving from position A to position B. Dmged component on PCB Wiring-Grounding Connection Using Mutimeter, check for AC Voltge etween (+ & -) pins on CNTR IN nd CNTR OUT terminls. If >0.05VAC, review Printed Circuit Bord (PCB) to see whether ny components hve een compromised (during instlltion). If Cpcitors or Terminl Blocks re loose or missing, replce entire J-Box. Mke sure ground wire is ttched to known good erth ground. Check ll ord to ord ground connections. Lst unit not s open s first unit or ll units not t sme position. Units closest to power trnsformer open fster thn units frther from trnsformer. Sprking or flming in Dimmer Control Bord Wiring Connection & Cle Length Mke sure you hve properly ttched signl wires from unit to unit. Check In & Out ssignments nd polrity. Mke sure you hve not exceeded mximum distnce from either, unit to unit, or source to unit. Trnsformer Quntity My hve exceeded the mximum numer of units recommended for Dylight Dimmer Model or Trnsformer VA Rting. Line voltge connected to Dylight Dimmer inputs If it is determined tht line voltge hs een so connected nd energized, ll Dimmer Controllers my e compromised nd must e replced. 4

13 Replce Junction Box Cover Secure Dylight Dimmer Junction Box Cover with 4 provided screw fsteners. Optionl Step Note: If it is necessry to open the Dylight Dimmer Dmpers prior to electricl connection, Use only 9V ttery to operte Dmpers. A lrger power ttery or power supply will dmge the PCB ord. Test Point Terminls 9V Bttery Only use 9V ttery to prevent dmge to PCB. 11
