Designed to meet the requirements of IET wiring regs 17th edition (incorporating amendment No 1 2011) Section 522.6 Operates up to 40 amp type B current breaker in the event of a nail penetrating, protecting against personal injury. (ii) Protec Power - A screened 600/1000V cable for use in general power applications offering increased current rating and a wider range of conductor sizes. However Protec cables are capable of operating at 90ºC in which case the higher current ratings of Table 4E2 can be used providing it has been ascertained that the equipment connected to the conductor is suitable for the higher conductor operating temperature. 2 Protective devices used for these cables shall be either Type B to BS EN 60898 or Type B RCBO to BS EN 61009-1. The protective devices shall have a maximum let through energy (l 2 t) of 42000A 2 s when used with 1.0mm 2 or 1.5mm 2 cable and 60000 A 2 s when used with 2.5mm 2 or 4.0mm 2 cable. 3 AEI Cables reserves the right to amend the product information without notice or liability.
