SETTING UP YOUR POC Before using your device for the first time, fully charge the Internal and if purchased, External Battery. CHARGING THE INTERNAL BATTERY 1. Connect the AC Power Supply to the device and an electrical outlet.. Verify that the INT Battery Bar, External Power Symbol and message Charging INT appear on the display. This indicates the system recognizes the external power source and is charging the Internal Battery.. It can take up to hours to charge a completely depleted Internal Battery. When the battery is fully charged, the message Charging INT will disappear from the display. CHARGING THE EXTERNAL BATTERY 1. Connect the External Battery to the External Battery Port on the device. The flat end of the plug should be facing upwards when plugging into the port on the device.. Connect the AC Power Supply to the device and an electrical outlet.. Verify that the EXT Battery Bar, External Power Symbol and message Charging EXT appear on the display. This indicates that the system recognizes the external power source and is charging the External Battery.. It can take up to hours to charge a completely depleted External Battery. When the battery is fully charged, the message Charging EXT will disappear from the display. NOTE: By design, the system will always charge the Internal Battery first before switching to the External Battery. Furthermore, the system will deplete the External Battery first to preserve the Internal Battery as long as possible.

OPERATING YOUR POC 1. Briefly press and release the Power Button. The display screen and green Power Indicator will illuminate.. Press the + or button to select to the pulse setting prescribed by your doctor.. Place the nasal cannula onto the nasal cannula fitting on the device and the cannula prongs in your nose and breathe normally. The device detects when you take a breath and delivers oxygen in PULSE-WAVE doses. The PULSE-WAVE symbol will flash on and off as you breathe.. To turn off, press and hold the Power Button until you hear a beep. NOTE: The device utilizes PULSE-WAVE Delivery which delivers oxygen congruent with your inhalation rate. Because this type of delivery is very gentle, you may not feel the pulse of oxygen. To verify that oxygen is being delivered, reference the symbol next to your selected Pulse Setting on the display. This symbol will flash every time a breath is detected and a bolus of oxygen is delivered. NOTE: If you remove the nasal cannula while the device is on or breathe through your mouth for an extended period of time, you may trigger the No Breath alarm. Reconnect the cannula or breathe through your nose to turn the alarm off.

Battery Type Internal Battery * Battery Life Timetable Pulse Setting Setting 1 Setting Setting Setting 10. Hours 8. Hours Hours Hours External Battery *.7 Hours.7 Hours.7 Hours. Hours Battery Recharge Timetable Battery Type Hours Internal Battery * External Battery * Hours Hours *Hours are approximate and based on a given average breaths per minute use rate. Breathing faster or slower than nominal can decrease or increase battery run time. As batteries age, charge times and runtimes may change. Charging Tips > It is recommended to keep the device plugged into the AC Power Supply even when not in use. Also keep the External Battery charged as often as possible. This helps extend the overall life of the rechargeable batteries. The batteries (both Internal and External) will not over-charge and the amount of electricity consumed is very small. > Some vehicles may not have sufficient power output to the DC Power Supply to both operate and charge the device and/or External Battery. Test your vehicles charging capabilities prior to taking a trip. > The fans on the device will turn on to remove heat that is generated during operation and by charging the batteries. 6

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION General Operation > The LifeChoice Activox POC is recommended and designed to be operated and stored in its carrying case at all times. > High heat and low temperatures can damage the batteries and can be harmful to the POC. Do not leave your device in a parked vehicle or non-conditioned room for extended periods of time. > Try to keep the device out of environments with high moisture, dust or sand. Who to Call > If you have a medical emergency, call 911 immediately. > Your oxygen equipment provider is responsible for your support. Keep your equipment provider s phone number with your POC and call them first when you need information or assistance. 7
