Our 2016 Car Show Classics on the River was a great success. This year s show returned to the OKC Boathouse District, and the Porsche Club joined us for an All-German marque show. The Boathouse District continues to grow and many of the area s visitors also viewed the car show. The show offered something for every Mercedes-Benz, Display Classes, Judged Classes and Silver Star Preservation Class. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful fall weather, and the opportunity to view fifty-eight Mercedes-Benz and Porsche automobiles. Mercedes-Benz of Oklahoma City also provided three 2016 models (S 63 AMG Cabriolet, GLE350SUV, and G class SUV). Our sponsored charity, Sunbeam Family Services, was onsite and assisted with the show. Later in the evening, an award dinner was held at the Colcord Hotel. Jim Priest, President of Sunbeam Family Services and Charles Woods, President of MBCA Central Oklahoma spoke briefly and thanked everyone for making the Car Show a big success. Later Jeff Leatherock, Chief Judge of the Car Show distributed various awards. Charles Boyd s 1960, 220SE Coupe won the People s Choice Award, Ben Kehe, Tony Marruchella, Richard Martin, Ken Hoffman/Mike Diple and Paul Rodesney s cars won awards in different categories. CD Schmidt (Central Oklahoma Section) and Ben Kehe (Eastern Oklahoma Section) received Silver Star Preservation Certificates. 4
