These utomti wter ontrol vlves re designed for high pressure servie, in vertil or horizontl instlltions nd re ville in dimeter sizes from 1½ to 16 ; DN40 to DN400. The BERMAD 700E vlves re used for wter flow ontrol in Deluge, Pressure Control Deluge, Pretion or Wter/ Fom systems, nd re mnuftured from mterils suitle for freshwter or lterntive for sewter, fom onentrte or other orrosive fluids. The 700E Deluge Vlve is held losed y system wter pressure trpped in the ontrol hmer. When the relesing system opertes, pressure is relesed from the ontrol hmer, nd the sel dis opens to llow wter to flow into the system. The 700E vlve ody design inludes single, full ore set with unostruted flow pth, free of ny in-line ris, supporting ge, or stem guides. The 700E Y Type design provides high flow pilities with minimum hed loss. The integrl unitized doule-hmered tutor provides omintion of positive, immedite response with smooth hmmer-free, drip-tight losing. The whole tutor n e esily removed for quik in-line inspetion nd serviing. Vlve tution is omplished y one moving ssemly whih inludes replele flt diphrgm, hrnessed to the diphrgm ssemly, stinless steel stem nd flt sel disk ssemly. BERMAD Fire Protetion FP 700E Instlltion, Opertion & Mintnene Instlltion Proper opertion of the 700E Deluge Vlves depends upon their trim eing instlled in ordne with the pproprite trim onfigurtion. Notes: Wet pilot height should not exeed Mximum Elevtion Aove Vlve (see dt for speifi model). Any devition in trim size or rrngement my dversely ffet the proper opertion of the deluge vlve. All the pilot system devies, must e UL Listed nd omptile with the prtiulr deluge system. Refer to urrent UL Listed Fire Protetion Equipment Diretory. Wrning: The deluge vlve nd trim must e instlled only in res where they will not e sujet to freezing tempertures. Instlltion Instrutions 1. Allow enough room round the vlve ssemly for ny djustments nd future mintenne. 2. Before the vlve is instlled, flush the pipeline to remove ny dirt, sle, deris, et. Not flushing the line my result in the vlve s eoming inoperle. 3. Instll the vlve in the pipeline so tht the vlve flow rrow ppering on the ody sting is pointing in the desired diretion. Ensure tht the vlve is positioned so tht the tutor ssemly n e esily removed for future mintenne. 4. Ensure tht the Control Trim is mounted properly nd ll other omponents re positioned orretly s per illustrtion. 5. After instlltion in the min line, refully inspet/ orret ny dmged essories, piping, tuing, or fittings. Ensure tht there re no leks. 6. Instll the omponents omprising the Deluge Trim Pkge in their proper positions in ompline with ll instrutions, drwings, nd tehnil speifitions desriing the BERMAD Deluge Vlve, ording to the relevnt illustrtion. 7. All dditionl essories, lthough not pked together with the BERMAD Deluge Vlve, must e instlled s shown in the relevnt P&ID nd other illustrtions. In the SET position, the wter pressure supplied through the priming line is trpped in the upper ontrol hmer of the deluge vlve y hek vlve, nd y the normlly losed relese devie. The pressure trpped in the upper ontrol hmer of the deluge vlve presses the vlve sel disk down, therey seling the vlve nd keeping the system piping dry. Under onditions of FIRE, when the pressure is relesed from the upper ontrol hmer y the opening of the utomti relesing devie or y mnul relese, the deluge vlve opens nd llows the inlet supply wter to flow through the vlve nd into the system piping nd lrm devies. Wrning: Whenever the hndle of the Mnul Emergeny Relese is pulled, pressure is relesed from the upper ontrol hmer, the deluge vlve will open, nd wter will flow into system piping nd lrm devies. Eletri Pneumti Hydruli Vlve Closed (Set Position) Line pressure pplied to the upper ontrol hmer of the vlve retes superior fore tht moves the vlve to the losed position nd provides drip tight seling. Eletri Pneumti Hydruli Opertion Priniple of Opertion 6 The BERMAD 700E Deluge Vlve (ssemled with speifi trim) is suitle for systems tht inlude dequte deteting nd piping systems with open nozzles. The deluge vlve prevents wter from entering system piping until required. The deluge vlve is kept losed y pressure pplied to the upper ontrol hmer through restrited priming line. Vlve Open (Operting Conditions) Relesing the pressure from the upper ontrol hmer to tmosphere or some other lower pressure zone uses the line pressure ting on the sel dis to move the vlve to the open position.
BERMAD Fire Protetion FP 700E Instlltion, Opertion & Mintnene Pling in Servie/Resetting The deluge vlve nd the ontrol trim shll e Pled in Servie with ordne to the most reent IOM proedures for the speifi model. After ll relevnt instrutions re performed, slowly open the supply-isolting vlve nd hek tht no wter flows into the system. The system is now opertionl nd in stnd-y mode. Mintenne Bermd Deluge Vlves require no lurition, no pking tightening, nd require minimum of mintenne. Removing the System from Servie Wrning: When tking deluge system out of servie, fire ptrol should e estlished in the system re. If utomti fire lrm signling equipment is utilized, the proper uthority should e notified tht the system is eing removed from servie. The insuring ody nd owner s representtive should lso e notified when the system is eing tken out of servie. Removl Instrutions 1. Shut off the min supply-isolting vlve. 2. Close the priming line vlve to the deluge vlve ontrol hmer. 3. Open ll drin vlves. 4. Relese the wter pressure from the ontrol hmer of the deluge vlve y pulling the mnul emergeny relese. 5. Ple "Fire Protetion System Out of Servie" signs in the re proteted y the system. 5. The system should e heked weekly for Norml Conditions. 6. Clen the priming striner prior to ny resetting of the deluge vlve. 7. The deluge vlve must e tivted t full flow t lest nnully. Tke ll neessry preutions to drin wter nd prevent dmge in the re proteted y the system. 8. After out five yers of opertion, replement of diphrgm nd other elstomers is reommended. Remove the tutor nd disssemle it. Clen the set re from sediments, len the ontrol tuing entry holes, nd instll new diphrgm nd other elstomers in ple. Spre Prts 1. The Diphrgm nd the Sels re the only spre prts needed for the min deluge vlve, see tthed Vlve Disssemly nd Prts Brekdown illustrtion. 2. It is not reommended to store spre ruer prts for long periods (ruer in improper storge onditions n hrden nd rk). 3. Contt your Bermd representtive nd order new ruer prts when required. Inspetion nd Testing 1. Wrning:Do not turn off the wter supply to mke repirs without pling roving fire ptrol in the re overed y the system. The ptrol should ontinue until the system is k in servie. 2. Prior to turning off ny vlves or tivting ny lrms, notify lol seurity gurds nd the entrl lrm sttion, if used, to void signling flse lrm. 3.
