Skilled trades people that are familiar with general construction and electrical installation techniques should perform the installation. Licensed electricians should provide electrical installation connections. Installations and connections should be done in accordance with all national and local codes and permits. Lay the fixture, with the glass face down, on top of the foam layer, to prevent damage to the finish. In Fig. 1, the back of the fixture housing is visible, A showing integral mounting studs and gasketing around center threaded entry. Fig. 1
B Step 2 - Remove mounting hardware from box B. With fixture facing glass down on the foam sheet, feed the wiring assembly through the center hole of the lower canopy plate C, then place plate over the four studs and threaded entry. Fig. 2 C Fig. 3 D Step 3 - For new construction, drill five holes with the included drilling template, or cut a 4 diameter hole into the canopy deck surface. For retrofit into 4 diameter hole from underneath the canopy, position the studs through the 4 diameter canopy hole D and secure the fixture housing into position against the canopy, aligning the fixture below the canopy square with canopy joints. Fig. 4 E Step 4 - Apply room temperature silicone vulcanizing (RTV) sealant around the 4 hole, then place the round gasket over the 4 studs E and apply more silicone RTV sealant on top of the gasket. LCN3 Series Installation Guide Page 3 of 4 F G H I Step 5 - While supporting fixture housing from below, place the upper canopy plate F over the studs and threaded coupling G. Install washers with rubber gasket facing down H and then finger tighten the cap nuts I. Securely tighten the cap nuts to provide a secure seal. Fig. 5 J K Step 6 - From the back of the fixture housing, feed the wiring assembly through the aluminum tube, gasket end down J, then screw the aluminum tube into the threaded coupling K, and hand tighten. L Step 7 - Feed the wiring assembly through the aluminum tube and screw gasket end onto the threaded nipple and tighten. L Fig. 7 M N Step 8 - Remove the top cover of junction box. Feed the wiring assembly through the opening in the bottom of the junction box M, then screw the remaining hex nut N onto the threaded aluminum tube. Position box for conduit entry, and securely tighten hex nut. Fig. 8 Fig. 9 O P Q Step 9 - Attach the junction box cover to the side of the junction box. O Connect the fixture housing DC wiring assembly to the power supply quick-connector(s). P Note: Some LCN3 models may have 2 power supplies and 2 wiring assemblies. Step 10 - Mount the supply wiring conduit to the junction box Q using a liquid-tite connector. Connect the supply wiring to the AC input wiring on R the power supply(ies).
