G9 Offshore Wind Health & Safety Association ALL ENERGY 2015 Stephen Rose Head of Offshore Wind Generation, SSE G9 Focal Group Leader
Why the G9?
Overview Work of the Focal Group Collation of SHE Data / Knowledge sharing Development of Industry Good Practice Guidelines Safe by Design
Data Collection Quarterly accident and incident data for all G9 member offshore wind farm sites On behalf of the Crown Estate, G9 collecting R3 project HSE statistics, to compliment those already being collected.
Data Collection Identification of Industry risk profile Benchmarking within G9 Group and also benchmarking externally
Data Collection 2014 Report 2013 Report Both available to download from the G9 website

Lost time injury frequency (LTIF): The number of fatalities and lost work day injuries per million hours worked.
Safe by Design Purpose: Explore the current industry use of a particular topic with the focus on safe by design Examine the current design controls relating to the topic, discuss where current design has potentially failed, and identify opportunities for improvement Outputs to be published on the G9 website to be used as a reference function by the industry
Safe by Design Intention for 2-3 New Safe by Design Workshops in 2015, covering : Emergency escape/evacuation Fire Risk in WTGs (25 Mar 2015) Lifting Operations Working at Height, TP and WTG design on ladders, lifts, anchor systems and PPE
Safe by Design x2 workshops held now since transfer from TCE Draft workshop output reports out for review / comment amongst G9 To be published on G9 website once complete

We want to work with you
A final point on membership
Concluding points Keep collating SHE data Identify hot spots of high risk Work to design out risk Encourage best practice widely Seek harmonisation of standards and practices between Wind Farm owner/operators. Work with other industry leaders
